My thought exactly...where the F**K does this man live??? I have 5 thrift stores where I live and I have found better stuff in a trashcan outside of Staples than in those stores :-)
Ah, the Dragonology figures. My first "D&D" minis were the dragons from the Dragonology board game. They're smaller than the figures you got with even worse paint jobs though still decent sculpts. Mine have been used as proxies for various medium critters in a number of games and even though my miniature collection has grown quite a bit, I still like when I have an excuse to put a little derpy dragon down on the table. Also the pink dragon is the Safari Ltd Baby Love Dragon. It really reminds me of faerie dragons, if only it wasn't so big.
The dino necks could make for good spines to add to a giant's hand or something like those mk3u fatalities. The elephant, a small cage/platform on top for 1-3 small sized folks, like 1 driver druid and 2 archers all goblins or gnomes etc.. The lil disks you showed right after the elephant. using wire you could make a elephant cape of stitched together round shields. Use a low grit sandpaper and do a single hard swipe on the surface to get a wood grain on the plastic. You have lots to experiment on getting the wooden round shield look right. The red blood cell, play it as a homebrew hemoGOBLIN. The roly-poly dino, you can cut it up and also make protection for the elephant war beast. The derpy pink dragon, repaint and use it as a lighter dragon from Monkey_DM homebrew. Have it be the party pet.
You can make an elephant shrine with the armored elephant heads. Put 2 on each side on an alter or something. Have like a dire elephant or something be the bbg
You have quite a haul here. I would love to see your Schleich version of the overpriced riding elephant from “Waterdeep: Dragon Heist”, some riding dogs for halflings and gnomes, and all that great Frank Frazetta meets IKEA furniture! The Papo mini tubs are a good buy. You can get a decent set of the knights for around $10 to $15, slap them on a clear base unpainted, and you have a pretty great cavalry enclave of town watch, king’s army, mounted anti-paladins. Your guys came from a tub with a glow-in-the-dark ghost wielding a chain, a nightmare/undead horse with skeletal rider, a red, definitely anti-paladin knight type on a horse with matching cladding, but the minotaur and derpy orc spellcaster are highlights. Thanks for sharing this dragon’s hoard with us!
Wish I had a Goodwill by the Pound store! Keep these vids a-comin'. And more hyper-correct reports about your PC with superfluous definitions of RPG jargon, please -- hilarious good fun.
Very good question. Goodwill by the Pound locations put out all the stuff that didn't sell in regular Goodwill Thrift Stores or is not easily marked for sale into massive bins. Then you can go through those bins and pay a price per pound for what you want. Prices vary for everything. Sometimes I get charged 20 cents a pound most times it's $1.50 a pound.
Most locations are situated in the same building as the major sorting stations for donations. Sometimes you can get some amazing stuff. Most times you only find garbage. Little bits of stuff like this are good for crafting though. Dirty places! I recommend a proper respirator mask, insect repellent on your boots and cut resistant gloves. Lots of random glass bits in those places. This local place seems to have gotten a bit better recently from better management.
That lobster is potentially a rust monster. A lot of those critters could be coated in textured paste and painted fire or water for elementals or flocking and made into Topiary Guardians.
It's not related to the video, but do you know any way to make DIY algae to hang from the miniature? I got a Big Daddy mini from Bioshock and he could use some sea-floor trash on him.
You can get moss pretty cheap. there are tons of different kinds round ball like moss, flat moss, rooty looking moss and so on. They also take dyes pretty well.
@@CreamAle Unfortunately I live in place without hobby stores and shipping is more expensive than the moss itself, that's why I'm hoping for DIY workaround
@@Vvix0 you can find this stuff outside. Just let it dry in the sun. I've done this multiple times with grass roots for vines and tendrils. If you soak them in a dye prior to drying it also won't need a coat of paint later.
