This channel features miniature reviews and assorted vlogs dealing with RPGs and board games. I showcase some of the best miniatures currently available and my own thrift store finds!
Gary Gygax once found a cheap bag of dollar store dinosaurs that ended up being the inspiration for many of the monsters we still see in D&D books today. My channel follows that tradition and hopes to inspire creativity in a new generation of D&D players.
You should paint the bottom of that boat with matte black. I always paint my ugly bottoms with matte black. It's like those theater guys who wear black so you see them but your not supposed to see them so they wea rblack you you don't notice.
That is a good point! If I did the black magic craft mix of paint and mod podge it would probably would have protected the boat a bit more too. It's not in bad condition considering how much use it got!
I f you could 3d print diferent parts in different colors and then wash it to bring it together... I'm not sure wha tthat process would loook like, but it would shift the paining proces to a machine. you still need to assemble them by hand. You could use different colors of super glue to hide the seams.
I had the same problem with my bendy Reaper dragon. I solved it by sticking pins in the legs, which worked, but in retrospect I should have propped him up. I recommend putting some treasure under his lower arm. I did a similar thing with some floppy centaurs and it worked very well.
Love the video! It's crazy how players hold on to cursed items. Im beginning a new game and we start right on the shore, if some player really wants to find a treasure...this will do!
I have that MacFalan dragon too. I love that one. Not sure what sort of stats to give him. (I had also found someone on the local Facebook Buy and Sell that sold 16 of the McFalan dragons for $20. I jumped on that without a second thought).
You have a fun water themed collection. The water dragon has a really cool lionfish design. The snapping turtle is a great stand-in for a dragon turtle. Both in size and how it looks. It is amazing how many toys work as "giant animals" for D&D miniatures.
I'm running a pirate adventure this month for new players, I was thinking of making a boat, since most of it will take place in a sunken ship and a regular ship. I'll have to look at your boat craft. The cursed ring might become some cursed treasure they can find.
DVDs and music are going to be donated to the library book sale. Most of the brushes were lost causes and I tossed them. Lego and video games are going to be sold. I am going to keep the paints and miniatures but that is a relatively small increase in my hoard.
I don't sell anything via my RU-vid page or contacts through my RU-vid. Too many issues from people hating me and I depend on selling stuff to keep from being homeless.
I have a strong feeling a parent or spouse donated all of the 40K stuff without consulting the previous owner. Although the random pieces might mean that this was the bits box. Or possibly that someone else found a bunch of completed units in another box. Really good haul. Oh the 4 treasures are from the board game, Forbidden Island. They should work well for statues for D&D. The board game is likely scattered all over the Goodwill. It has many cards and small pieces.
The big bottles of Nuln Oil are the last generation. (24ml) Modern bottles are smaller. (18ml) They also changed the formula of the modern bottles. They don't flow as nicely and stain the surfaces. You got one of the good bottles. I buy those when ever I find them.
Always love your finds videos and your channel. Its so great to see real gamers channels out there! No great finds for me this year yet but like you said when it rains it pours!!
The board game pieces were from forbidden island. I bet you could get some good impressions from that Japanese reusable mold stuff I really want some now after watching your video. Will have to check for an affiliate link on that previous video
I really want to start looking but there's not a lot of thrift stores in my area that carry much other than clothes. I'll probably still try, I'm getting into terrain and miniatures
