My cousin and I just started running this game. The level five skip you do looks like it has a different set up than what I saw in the guide on the speedrun website. Have there been any changes to the skip or any tips you could give us? Thank you and great run.

Haven't read the guide, but if Max is on 2P, only one vertical position works (assuming no diagonal inputs). As you walk to the block, there's a point where you can start walking diagonally on every other frame. Maybe the guide only gives one possible horizontal position.
