Anyone who tries to gatekeep my right to critique capitalism, greed, and mega-corporations by arguing that I also exist in this society, make money, have ads, and pay my bills, etc. will simply be banned. It's important to critique the systems we are a part of so that we can understand what needs to change. Also, money, markets, stores, and such all existed before capitalism. Even if they didn't, I don't have to live off the grid like Henry David Through to be able to critique the society I am a part of.
Im with you... capitalism sucks ... and its stupid really ... These days we are living in a twisted kind of capitalism... liberal capitalism... why twisted.?.. well .. because they trying so hard to make this exploitative system to look and feel as if it was something like socialism ... something revolutionary ... something benevolent ... except it is none of these things... its about money ... about exploitation ...about living at the expense of others.. and of course selling you shit in a golden foil... In capitalism everything is going on a predictable path... You know big fish eats the small... as you pointed out.. That's the picture here... That's the reality of things... The word democracy and freedom has been hijacked by the capitalist to gaslight the working people.,... to convince them they are living in one... Yeah you can democratically wote for your exploiters... but nothing more... And its hard to live in that kind of a system... where freedom of speech is a cheap thing and can be terminated by the capitalist as they wish.. so much for the democracy and freedom of speech ... Anyway I just wanted to say ... Hi from Slovakia :)
It took you that long for you to think that google dose not care about you? They stopped caring wen they took a grant from the taxes payers... these monopolies care about two things, money and power. If you can run business without taking a loan from the taxes payers. this why Elon musk is doing so good.
It's not only google every tech company do the same things thats the world we live in now and you know who helped them to do all of that it's our countries they just don't care too about what these companies do and these fines is just money laundering is what i see, these companies should not been privet at all or owned by a group of ppl these companies should have been owned by public only.
@@chrisspamtesttypically it's expensive to do something like that and the loop holes are made to allow corporations to do that, not people earning a wage. That's why you have these islands that are home to various corporations or their shells. Like why don't you lobby Congress to make laws that favor you personally?
It all leads to monopolies. It happened in the late 1800s, and early 1900s with Rockefeller, Carnegie, and other giant industrialists. When a company gets big enough, they will buy up their competition, and get bigger and bigger. The consumer will have less choices.
@@chrisspamtest It's not free, Google gets your information and sells it to other companies. There is really no such of thing as free in this world. Back when I was going to college, I wanted to get a Pell Grant from the government. I had to signup for Selective Service to get it. No Selective Service no pell grant.
Back in the early days of the net my dad said to me "Google is going to be the new big thing". I thought to myself, "bless dad's heart, old man doesn't understand the internet because everybody uses Yahoo to search." He knew some heavy-hitting people. In conclusion, years after he passed, I realized that he must have talked to somebody who knew something big was coming down the pipe.
Those fines. A couple of million dollars is like pennies to a multi-trillion dollar company. Those fines should be in the tens or even hundreds of billions. But we all know that is never going to happen.
they're just a huge dirt bag, their behaviours towards competion says it all.... a quick example: their chrome browser on mobile has a function "suppress invasive ads", then you look at yt and.....
when you are criticizing the wickedness of the boss, you get punished by the boss for exposing him. The views were not given-, means that thousands of views were BLOCKED. They are doing this to anyone who has the ad block. My views stop for days until i turn off my ad blocker, then it continues but never ever do you get what they took away. This man is smart. Smart people can not be deceived with smoke and mirrors.
I built my first hackintosh watching your videos. Maybe it's a weird precedent to set for myself, but if you have that kinda knowledge, i definitely wanna know what you think about google. Thank you for posting
Sorry for being off-topic, but I miss the old Tek Syndicate with the nerdy goth vibes, missing Logan's production combined with Wendell's nerdy insight 😢Logan please try to make amends with Wendell to get back together, it would be the best for both of y'all Love from India 🖤
In fairness about RU-vid, RU-vid was in the middle of a copyright lawsuit with Viacom and I don't think they had enough money to fight it. So Google ended up buying it and settling with Viacom.
Great video. I have a lot less dependency on Google than I used to. Gmail is still my primary e-mail, but that's largely because I can't be arsed to log into 300+ accounts and change my e-mail on all of them (and that's assuming it's even possible in all cases). Plus, I haven't done much research into a good self-hosted Dockerized e-mail server, as 10+ years ago I hated having to deal with email servers every time I had to and that left its scars. I host a Dockerized Nextcloud on my NAS, and when I create a document or take a picture etc., it goes there. My contacts and calendar are also in Nextcloud, as are tasks, reminders, etc.
Same for me, it's allot of work dodging FAANG and other big tech though it's worth it in the long run. There is allot of money to be made around it as well. My whole business revolves around providing solutions for niche use cases that big tech cannot fulfill. There is also the privacy concerns not only from big tech but from the fact they cannot properly secure data from bad actors. It's a legit concern for high profile people that travel abroad especially in areas where they are prime kidnapping targets. The smart home trash is also a concern especially amongst the wealthy. They are prime targets for highly funded and sophisticated crime networks. Consumer smart home trash is often the way in. People want to engage in low effort arguments and just bend over for big tech. You either boycott and shutup or fully submit... weak perspective and contributes to the mess me are in. It's possible to leverage all technologies and put in the work to not feed and enable big tech. it requires creativity and for one to not be lazy.
I recall when they said in 2006, "Do no evil" voodoo promise, and I was like "oh shit". Great video Logan, well done for educating the people. You educated me too.
I don't think Capitalism is the problem myself - people don't like what I'm about to say but I think it's Socialism and Corporatism. TiKHistory has a really good video that goes into deep explsnation on modern interpretations of both systems, their definitions as well as their historical definitions and explainong what those mean in contexts that are much easier to understand. The video is about Public versus Private and the differences between both. For a long time I just found the entire conversation nothing but confusing overlap, and it wasn't until I found his videos that I really started to understand where the differences really were and why there is so much confusion.
Google desktop, built in-house, was awesome. I've not bothered to look for an alternative, though I've needed it desperately. I can't find a lot of stuff on my own computers anymore, and thus my writing and research suffers!
No one has to use Google or Android for anything anymore. People are creature's of habit, so they got sucked into Google because it's easy and little or no money is involved.
After more people actually tries other search engines they could notice how much more information and faster what they looking for they can find than with Google. Honestly it sux and i can not understand majority people still stuck with it.
I agree bc i need a job and it doesn't seem that bad. But do i have to show off good and bad stuff to get it? Can you transition my knowledge and short comings as well as overcomings. #cummins #alexjones
Now, will more likely have an Asian woman, or an Latin person that will close my account! That's our " democracy" we the people, got to keep our mouth shut! Right?
Remember the time when you searched simple words and google used to bring up loads of pornographic results ! 😂 Search for "cooking chicken" Google - picture of "man cooking chicken using his di*k" 😅
they use corporate memphis how couldnt they be? corporate memphis was made to look” friendly “ but it fails because its cheap and noone likes it and people want textyres in art.
I used to get ads for Asian dating sites. I'm not Asian nor do I go on dating sites, but at the time my girlfriend was Asian. Now I occasionally eat chocolate without stating that I'm eating chocolate and now I get ads for chocolate products. Coincidence? Idk but I don't look up chocolate products online, if they can tell what food I'm eating by listening to how I chew my food that's pretty weird and clever. It's also intrusive AF. There is really no end conclusion to this but I thought it was really strange. Anyways I mainly commented for the algorithm. Awesome vid.
God I still remember early 2000's Google. In my teens I really wanted to work at Google and by the time I was in a position I could, the company had already changed so much that it was basically unrecognisable
"It's not a fine, it's the cost of doing business" is quite well illuminated by how Alphabet keeps getting fined by the same organizations (French, Italian, EC, FTC) over and over. They're "trying to do better", in the sense that they'll try to make even more money so that the next time they get fined, they can just shrug it off because they've made more money than the fine between the last 2 fines. Re: Google Assistant. Did you know that Google paid phone manufacturers to put PHYSICAL GOOGLE ASSISTANT BUTTONS on their phones, and those buttons could only be Google Assistant or turned off completely?
The fines you listed are just the cost of doing business. No company will change their business by having to lose some pocket change. Just like you said
Those fines are so small compared to the benefit Google gets. They need get 10 billion minimum fine each time they break privacy and antitrust laws. When they get multiple of that kind of fines, they start to take laws and regulations seriously.
The shirts are crazy soft. I've got one that's a couple of years old now and still soft after more than 50 washes. None of my other tshirts can compare.
Oh my god this kind of topic and title is what I love so much about this channels content. Thank man will watch soemtime soon! hope in between you are keeping busy or whatever else you do, honestly have no idea what you do for work! Thank again. Great voice.
I've been using bard to read websites and pdf manuals because it can read links, very useful considering its free. everything google does is for advertising, and i suppose they work with government organisations as well. good fun
I showed examples on the screen and all the fines are public records. I showed the list on the screen, feel free to check if you really want to. How is it an opinion when I state the companies that Google bought or the projects they cancelled? None of this stuff is a secret or an opinion.
