Thanks Boss! I'm at the Linux & SQL course, enjoying the hands on labs. Hearing the Generative AI addition to the course is really a game changer this motivated me again!
I've just finished second module of Google's cybersecurity certificate , Your video really helped a lot as a guide for my journey ahead keep posting .❤
@@Mikeyy2006 Free trial for a certain amount of time and then just about $50 a month until you finish but it's work at your own pace so theoretically you could finish incredibly quickly and not pay very much. Even if it takes the whole 6 months they expect it to, the info is well worth that cost
I went through the AI module as it came out right when I was finishing up my google cyber security professional certificate and it is GOLD. The content is very good I highly suggest whoever has already completed the course to revisit and complete the ai module
I'm someone who already has my CompTIA sec+ certificate, and I've been enjoying the Google course a lot! It's helped strengthen my knowledge in some areas, and the Linux and SQL labs were SO helpful compared to what I've used before.
I have just completed the third course of the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, and I am aiming to finish the entire program within the next two months. I am fully committed to achieving this as quickly as possible by putting in my best efforts. I always follow your guidelines, and your videos are incredibly interesting, supportive, and helpful to me. Thanks to your resources, I now have a clear roadmap for my learning journey. I am truly grateful for your support. Thank you for everything!
I am halfway through your GRC Mastery Course (Module 5), not rushing it. Then the Google Cyber Cert is next as I follow your 6month roadmap. You are doing a great job. Thanks for this new update!!
I can't wait to get back into this!! Especially knowing there is an AI section now! I'm almost done with the program, but had to take a break to take care of my mom. I'll be back in about a week and i can't wait!
I completed this certificate a 4 days ago, I went through with the new AI section. The section is all about how we can use Gemini for cybersecurity for entry level analysts. Good one❤
Good thing the local government in my area had this free Coursera Certificate program for a year. I am almost done with Cybersecurity. Next I will do the IT support specialist by the start of November. Wish me luck. I am a Bio Major btw.
@Triple_A_679 hey man, I have just started the certification. I've already completed course 1 on my first day and am now in module 4 of course 2. Course 2 is a little bit theory heavy, that's why it's taking me more than a day (plus I'm slacking off also). My question to you is, during the 4-5hrs you spent everyday, were you hyper focused on the topics or did you take breaks every now and then, maybe procrastinate a little bit also? I just want some advice on how to finish the certification asap. I have lots of free time, so I want to utilize it properly
@@KabirBhae I took 10 to 15 mins break after every hour, and I usually break up my study time in a day, I never hammer 4 or 5 straight hours head on, I would wake up say like 3 hours before work and study and I'll do the rest of the 2 hours at night before sleep. I did not study for a whole week because of family and work commitments, but I got back on it and smashed it the following week, that's why It took me 3 weeks otherwise it would've been just 2. But I would advice you not to try and just blitz through it, you might want to try and absorb the knowledge fully, especially the labs part, the duration that takes you to complete shouldn't matter coz everyone is going into it with different experiences. Enjoy your learning.
So far I've written a draft professional statement and then done an audit in course 2. So yes I'm focusing on the practical parts. What is consuming the most time for me are the reading materials. Should I completely understand those or can I move forward as those concepts are most likely to repeat in the future courses and through the labs, I will automatically get a good hand over the concepts in reading materials?
Hey I already got the skills and this certificate help me build my resume to land remote entry level jobs. I am currently studying as a university student
I just started this 2 days ago and I'm on Module 4....I'm NOT playing!!!! I want this badly and I will have it by any means necessary. I saw that that the AI section was added and couldn't be happier starting this journey at this time.
In the sixth course right now, think I’m plan to start the seventh one I think programming next week then I might jump into that course on. I can’t remember right now. I think it’s called the fence something online for a little bit more hands-on. I have a pretty deep Linux background and I thought they were Lennox the way they taught it for beginners is very good and very thorough, enjoying the course
I dont recommend jumping in between courses, instead follow a progressive targetted learning plan to land a cyber security job: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rz0RL4Xue-A.html
Having just finished a Masters conversion degree in this field, I'm now finding out that A) the "skills gap" doesnt mean loads of jobs, it means they want people who already know how to do the jobs very well (not beginners). B) Even though you have done your degree you need to spend hundreds on various certs to even be considered. That is what I would call an absolute racket. What an industry. It makes me regret the whole thing and want to turn my back on it.
Watch this video, it will help you in your journey: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2RfwwlbQecs.html yes unfortunately Masters degrees aren’t what I recommend and they dont provide a ‘guaranteed job’ at the end, they’re overpriced and dont provide a lot of value, but its a good start, dont give up just yet
You've gained a new follower :) (me) So you thinkin' if i do this course, get sec+ and do some home lab stuff with my mentor Tom I'll be able to get a job as an L1 Soc Analyst by 2026?
My thing is if it's a tool to help you that's one thing ...to utilize cheating to peruse as a standard methodology or practice of ethics or etiquette...then we have serious plm😂
I've gotten the cert months ago already, seems like the changes only applies to those who are still taking it/about to take the cert since I can only see 4 modules in total here. Still thanks for this information!
just a quick question as a 21 year old who is doing adult school-math 12. Do I need any of these math course, should I do Calculus 12, do I need a degree in cs, do I need to go to collage or university I have so many questions and i am also scary to jump in and not sure what to expect. any advice or tip. lastly do most company's require a degree? Thanks
no you don’t need math :) the rest of your questions are answered in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-csXVHpDNM4M.html and my advice to you is to follow this roadmap: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rz0RL4Xue-A.htmlsi=54AZaAr-P6Z241tm
I finished this course, AI Essential, and the IT Support Pro course. passed the ISC2 CC exam. Done the free Try Hack Me SOC labs and created a password manager app using python. what next? FYI I have 6years+ IT Support experience
next step is to start doing some intermediate level training AND apply to cyber security jobs at the same time. Do these: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wLgkX6F3ZDA.html
I am about to finish my Computer science degree. I am currently doing the google cerificate do you think i should pursue the sec+ for a better chance to get my first job? Love your videos btw
Hi i need help, i was studying this on second module, i felt like there are so nuch theories which makes me feel bore to study , any tips or study approach i need to overcome thid?
I finished the course last year and now when i went to check for Ai in Cyber security through your link it gives me the option Go To Course and when i do i don't see the option Module 5 for Cyber securtiy in AI ??
Interesting! My subscription started from August and I do not see Module 5. Should I email and check with Coursera to update or cancel this subscription and get a new subscription to get access to Module 5? Any suggestion ? Thanks! But also if I cancel and retake then all which I have completed till now will be lost 😢 and have to restart from scratch to get the certificate completion.
@@UnixGuy Oooooh ! I just started the google cyber course about a month ago and didn't see it listed either, Thanks for the info . You truly are the best on RU-vid when it comes to helping newbies get into the field of Cyber security.
Sorry, I'm a little confused. Would companies look at completing the Google Cyber Security cert as a foundation for experience and therefore count it AS experience as an infield? I'm currently finishing the 6th course and going into course 7 (python). Btw, thank you for all your content! I really like them and they have been really helpful!
if you already work in incident response then I recommend you focus on intermediate level practical certs like the one in this video instead: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wLgkX6F3ZDA.html
I completed the course 6 months ago. If i log back in and do the AI module will my certificate be updated to show that I've completed the AI module also?
Hello I started cybersecurity because of you google certificate is well structured they have labs and have good teachers but the certificate is foundation does not go deeper on any topic does mean one you finish google you will be able to have clear mind map but you need continuinty cybersecurity is about 7 domain you need to choose which side to go more deeper is it soc or architecture engineering or management or. Penetrating testing google certificate is the first step to start better than a+ security+ about starting looking for a job to be honest is not enough
it’s just a starting point - not the end of the journey. Follow this plan once you finish it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rz0RL4Xue-A.html
TCM security is good, but it depends on why you’re doing the course. I dont recommend doing too many courses just because. Instead, follow a structured progressive plan: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rz0RL4Xue-A.htmlsi=-Ej_S8dE8CiEFY1f
I've already completed the Google cybersecurity professional certificate program how can I be able to access this to complete the generative AI section?
I found your channel when I was looking for more info cause I was considering doing the google cybersecurity cert and honestly your videos are what helped me make up my mind and get started! I purposely joined by clicking on your link so I hope that it is an affiliate link and that you get something from that. Also I was surprised that Coursera is literally just charging 15$ a month. So cheap for such a wealth of knowledge! I was also browsing the IBM cybersecurity cert and I watched the free videos on youtube of one of their classes called cybersecurity architecture and wow they were GOOD. Once im done with the google cert I will enroll in that class from the IBM cert just because of how much I enjoyed it and can learn. Thanks Unixguy happy to be on this journey and to have found your vids! I find them inspiring!!!!
I did the Google cert last fall and got security + a few months ago. Thank you for being transparent and for all of the guidance you give. My hope is to eventually take GRC mastery and get into GRC
@@UnixGuy there are some things your videos don’t cover , like challenges for people in third world country ,with a lack of companies and high difficulty of finding cybersecurity remote jobs
I noticed some videos about this good white hat hackers talk about certificates. I am not against certificates but can they stop talking about certificates and talk about the cybersecurity? Some even ranked the certificates! why do we need to do that? We are here for the skills, not for the paper. With or without certificates, as long as you have the knowledge, you have a good future. Remember, there are millions of unfilled cybersecurity jobs out there. So certificates are not really important as of this time
each to their own, but I get it- I’m not a fan of collecting pieces of paper. I use training courses as a structured way to learn a subject I take it you’re not familiar with my videos, but the aim is to educate people on training courses that are pracrical and hands-on. My videos have helped hundreds world-wide land cyber security jobs and I post success stories every week/day.
I have a question that I can't seem to find a solid answer to. I am new to the tech field and do eventually want to end up in the Cybersecurity field as a profession. But I get told Cybersecurity is not a entry Level career you can jsut start. Most people recommend start from Help Desk and get the Experience from there and go up. Unix Guy in the video did mention the Google certifcate covers basic A+. What is your experience with novice people trying to enter the career field? DO they need help desk experience or was the background from the google certifcate enough?
if you browse and watch my vifeos you’ll find there is an answer to all of your questions.. watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wcJcH51hmXY.htmlsi=UR9UBAQmB8lmXmt2 then this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-csXVHpDNM4M.htmlsi=TVjExqVhVLglny9j
