I think completing the Google Cybersecurity Professional certificate gives you a 30% discount on the CompTIA Security+. Completing the Microsoft Cybersecurity Analyst Professional certificate gives you a 50% discount on the SC-900 exam.
Dude I really appreciate your content. Always very insightful, informative and real. I'm going for both to really help prep me for the Security+ and SC 900 exams. I'm new to tech and just finished Google's cert. It was absolutely amazing, but as I go through the Security+ study guide, I'm realizing I need a little more reinforcement. The perfect one-two-punch imo.
@ProdbyYas if you’re prepping for SEC+ make sure you use multiple resources. The multiple choice wasn’t the tough part to prepare for but the Google course did not prepare me enough to handle the PBQ questions I got. I used other resources which helped me in that area which helped me score just enough to pass the test but don’t rely on just 1 set of material. The exam was a little difficult.

Currently doing the GCSP cert, and it’s been amazing so far, gives good foundation on every topic and the simulation labs gives me confidence 😎to continue to want to learn more!
I plan on taking both as well. Like others, I am currently taking the Google class, but I realize most place I go are going to be a Microsoft environment. Since I am changing careers I want all the information I can get.
I'm finishing the Google Certificate and just started the last course. I had already taken another Google cert before, Data Analytics. I don't know Microsoft courses yet, but I'm also considering their cybersecurity one. I can say that Google courses are very well made because I've taken several other courses on Coursera (some of them from well-known universities and other tech companies) which are poorly made, an example is the IBM cybersecurity certificate: not well structured, amateur slides and very bad audio quality, for instance.
Hi, thank you for your effort making this videos, what do you think about ISC2 CC and SSCP certificats compared to Microsoft Certificats SC 900 and SC 200 ?
ISC22 Is great for beginners wanting to learn more about cybersecurity - this is a cert i would recommend those who are in the deciding phase if they want to be in cybersecurity. SSCP provides even more information about generic cybersecurity but goes into more detail by going over additional domains. Sc-900 & 200 are more vendor specific and tailored to microsoft while teaching you overall security (900) and security operations (200) Depending on where you are, you can go for ISC2 CC, SC-900 or SSCP then SC-200.
Thanks for the review. Very informative. Heard from a few people that these certs are not enough to get you a job as theu are both very Introductory. I was told the Blue Team cert is far more comprehensive.
Thank you! They are absolutely correct. In fact a certificate alone imo is not enough. But it will show initiative. BTL1 is definitely a lot better especially if you are planning on going down the SOC route. You can think of these 2 courses/certs as a level 1 cert and BTLO is more so level 1.5-2 if that makes sense
Can’t say much about IBM but my recommendation would be to go with whatever cybersecurity training that fits your budget and continue learning topics within your domain of interest.

My recommendation is take either. They *should* provide similar topics aka introduction to cybersecurity. Take a sample of both and see which style you enjoy more and aim for that. As long as you take the initiative to learn the foundations/fundamentals, you’ll be in a good spot.
Are these being recognized by companies? I'm thinking of getting another specialization and I've grown up with the mindset that short course certificates don't hold that much weight.

They all pretty much provide the same modules, it will boil down to which teaching style you prefer. At the end of the day, regardless which of these courses you take, should help you understand the basics, in other words, they will scratch the surface of cybersecurity. With Microsoft you get that added bonus of learning about their ecosystem.
@castercs I’m sorry but I disagree about taking google course before Sec+ and I’ll explain why. Mainly the first 6 of the 8 courses of google are relevant to SEC+ studies, minus the SQL part which is extremely minimal of need for SEC+ which also includes courses 7 and 8 being python and then applying for Jobs (both not needed for SEC+) which leads to alot of hours wasted on unnecessary material for the exam. You have to approach this two ways. One is studying to pass an exam and the other is for learning the tools and gaining skills for possible employment. Getting SEC+ first to me makes more sense and then you can put more work into practical skills. I already got my SEC+ and if I did it all over again I would have done the google course 2nd to reinforce what I studied in Sec+
