haha I just came across this video and I have to agree this is horrible to see. I saw Jane's Addiction in concert in Miami Beach, FL in1990 I believe it was. They were SO full of energy and the crowd was so alive. This crowd is horribly lame and I feel sad for Jane's Addiction even doing this gig. I did enjoy the part where Perry is making fun of them. I am sure in his mind he is thinking "Look at what we have to do for money" haha... This just proves that rock bands should live fast and hard and die young, its both sad and tragic when you see rockers you loved sell out to corporate America :-(
I read thru some comments and thought there were way too many complaints about that miserable crowd until I watched the complete video and decided there weren’t enough complaints. The crowd should be so embarrassed!

Put your phones away!!!! Show some respect for yourself and those who are performing. I find it amazing, how people with great jobs can (absolutely) have no clue.
I like Janes. And I know its a Google event. But the Phones & Tablets. After you ruin the experience for the people around you with you "device" what do you do with that shakey video and blown out audio - post to a page where it disappears to the bottom of page feed. Lame.
great camera work, my favorite band of all time. even though this sounds bad, they were better when they were on the smack. and eric avery is greatly missed
I love Jane’s addiction since way. Ack in the late 80’s but damn if I’m gonna sit here and watch a bunch of people holding up their phones “hey zombies live in the moment”.
Formal man. I remember going to black moth super rainbows second to last concert before they broke up and people were cursing at the people holding phones up in the air because it was such a small venue . So it would easily bloc your view. We should all just start slapping people's phones out their hands and run away honestly lol
@@durhamjones4057 Nah it was 80s.. 1986-1991 there live album came out in 86 and then their 2 big albums are 1988 and 1990. They were the first of the 90s era and most influential
Great perfomance by guys who like to play. This is a crowd of techie geeks enjoying the band and responding appropriately as such. What did all you complainers expect? Stage diving, crowd surfing and a mosh pit? I wish there weren't so many IWAKs (idiot with a keyboard) infesting these YT comment threads.
There’s more to playing for audiences than the typical rock crowd moshing and stage diving. What’s wrong with playing for stiff, gentrified, socially inept tech geeks? Maybe they aren’t as cool or fashionable as other crowds but Im sure many of them are kind and compassionate people that enjoyed this concert and don’t deserve to be degraded.
I’m very grateful I saw Jane’s a bunch of times, pre-fame and in L.A., where they were meant to be seen. I snuck my tape deck into a lot of those shows, too!
Ignored the lame audience after the first minute, Perry was funny with the Google thing...great fucking performance regardless. The sound off the board is worth the whole thing. True pros. Can't wait to see them in Bridgeport.
seen them a number of times and never has Perry had to sing "gimme that, give back that automobile, turn off that smokestack and that..." because the audience always is right there with it. i mean, my wife works at Google, so i like Google, but part of me really wishes JA hadn't done this. they're like a head mounted on a wall here, a trophy. "oh, i bet he was a magnificent beast- when he was out in the wild, proud and free..."
@rocker4577 yeah, heading to Richmond to see them on 9 March. I'll be pissed if there's a sea of smart phones and tablets. What happened to enjoying the show?
I work for google and really they should have just had Yanni perform for us. Now we are all jacked up. I now have feelings I don't understand. I think I was actually inspired. Not good.
The problem with the youth today IS.. YOU CAN'T JUST HANG OUT AND ENJOY SOMETHING WITHOUT ANALYZING EVERYTHING. Okay yes, attorneys did that to our society but realize that AND JUST ENJOY THE MUSIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JANE'S KICKS ASS, SO.. ENJOY WHATEVER!!!!!!!!! JUMP, GROOVE, SWAY, TABLET, BITE YOUR LIP IN A GOOD WAY AND ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dziwny widok jak ludzie stoją bezruchu i się w ogóle nie bawią, tylko zajęci są nagrywaniem filmików. Koncert został profesjonalnie nagrany, więc dlaczego tyle kamer jest wyciągniętych?
this is just plain weird. As I posted on my Facebook wall: Weird! But not unexpected. I would have been rocking out so hard they probably would have had security throw me out.
Look at all those fucking cameras at the start. What sort of a world do we fucking live in now? 20 years ago people watching jane's addiction would end bloody, bruised and battered. Perry would of pissed on all those people and walked off if this sort of shit happened back then.
We can't Janes in Seattle.Google is taking over the world, besides Janes, like Mark Farina, and others. Lame. It is nice to see that they are still playing!
@TheKingWrecker i love zep as much as the next guy but at least jane's didnt copy most of their song catalog like zeppelin did. zep is constantly getting sued for copying songs, and losing the court cases
HAHAHAHAH at the loads of "techy lighters" in the crowd. nothing but a sea of iphones and i pads. hahahaha. or maybe it was the new unreleased google pad.
