Google is working on a cool new project for cell phones called "Jibe". It's basically going to be a similar service to iMessage, but will team up with most cell service providers to make it universal across android phones.

What about protecting your privacy? If the cloud got hacked I seriously doubt google can protect people's personal information. Now a days majority of people's most personal information, banking, places the google map tracks etc... It seems like an introduction to knowing what everyone's up to. Or maybe it's just me💁🏼‍♀️me

Yeah, that's what they do when they upgrade the software. There are battery optimizations in the upgrade. It was one of the main points for Android Marshmallow.

RCS is a universal open standard, so iPhone users can use the RCS standard too, and even Jibe if Apple allowed it.

Even if Apple doesn't support RCS, It's still good that Android users have something better than SMS that comes pre-installed on their phones. This way, they will at least get a better messaging experience when messaging other Android users in their default messaging app. It's about time this happened on Android.

Google Jibe is interesting, but will the messages be encrypted? That's a big selling point for iMessage and WhatsApp: their messaging services are encrypted. Knowing Google, the RCS messages will be data mined and available to the authorities, NOT private

In my opinion, IF the platform could bridge android "rich content messages" and iOS iMessage (the Apple rcm counterpart), that could be a REVOLUTION in cellphone communications! I think both parties (Google android & Apple iOS) have a potential to win in a bridging because if it works properly: the customer choice of buying an iPhone or any other android phone will remain unchanged. I'd recap as saying it would be a WIN-WIN situation and would NOT be detrimental to the competitive world of android's phones vs iPhones sales!

If they have 1 million view and all got adblocked then Google will definetly go in loss but What about RU-vidrs they still have no of views for claim or they don't? It will reduce their revenue in some cases but will it have any impact on RU-vidrs?

+Taha C we all know about click baiters who put their title too good to be true and post a useless video with unskipable ads..they earn by trolling ...so can we have an impact on that particular youtuber by adblocking without affecting other good youtuber and Google??

But also keep in mind content creators have no direct control on what ads are displayed on their videos (Though I think they can choose the type [i.e mid-video or just pre-roll, etc]) P.S. I'm not a content creator or otherwise affiliated with YT, this is just what I've learned from some youtubers who have explained it in a video, so it may not be 100% accurate fyi.
