i get the execution but damn they really just did the most stupid thing that they could be thinking when it yeah comes to revenue and they are quite literally doing the same to like the youtube chapter sys and basicel making the normal ui that most of us are used to for modern ui and now they there are just making it harder to even view stuff anywhere on their own changes edit fix some grammatical errors
What do you expect from a multi-billion dollar company that has corruptiom and secrets behind the doors. The most controversial rumor is that Google has an AI That's aware they're just keeping it hostage
@tarongg9057 U get seo bullshit on google instead of an actual answer. You gotta be shitting me that you haven't noticed how bad search ing things on google is.
It’s funny how the controversy over them actively sabotaging yt kids so they can still advertise to kids on the main app while still being legally and morally in the clear died down so fast. It’s still going on
For real, Years ago I could search for random stuff and find relevant results instantly. Now I have to try and modify what words I use to find anything relevant!
Early 2000s! Google actually meant 100 to the power of 100. Now it's something like 20 results only and none are relevant. If I search for, "Why yellow is a far superior color than any other color on the visual spectrum", I'll recieve results about how ugly and distasteful yellow is and why Green is the best. If I want to find results about Yellow, I'd have 10 minutes of scrolling before some obscure page will show up, if at all and if Google allows it to pop up. I know the internet is much bigger than Google shows but there's obviously a suppression of the vast pages that I want access to.
Exactly, if your spending a considerable amount of time watching other product pitches over the product you’re actively *trying* to use, said product isn’t worth it. That’s why cable is dying
maybe you didn't realise but your comment has a double meaning. pitch is also the name of a very viscous (slow flowing) liquid, and google is giving you useful results as slow as pitch flows.
Tfw a random redditor perfectly solved a technical issue that supposed "technical support" hired by "professional companies" simply can't. Or refuse to fix. There's gotta be some money laundering scheme going on there... why even have tech support if a random joe can do it better, without being paid? Ridiculous...
Yeah it's a real problem I can't get the search results I need and I have either to resort to reddit Wich is fine for normal questions but many times I had to resort to chat GPT to get the most info possible to complete some assignments
Ngl, I never actually noticed there was infinite scroll. I just changed my search keywords until I found what I was looking for. And yeah, adding "reddit" to it is the most common one.
the "reddit" thing is so accurate, otherwise you get unusable results from quora or random websites that write a large text about it or some that are automatically generated, comparing specific programs or whatnot
Fun fact? Most of the top X programs/movies/XYZUVW lists you get as results on Google... Are AI generated lists. The internet is clogged with auto generated bull. We need to open the drain by filtering ANYTHING AI generated.
More correct is "Drive users away and make more issues for a potential 0,01% increase in revenue from scams". Of course it all allows them to grow more for potential better future like a true capitalist ideal, but these idiotic changes that don't even make them more money are almost like they want more competition. How's the saying goes? We are on the top of the world, yet it's boring alone? Crushing the good ladders to better enjoy the sunset while allowing other prospectors to construct better ones and see better sunset? Just shower thoughts
Explain how infintie scroll on search is such a useful feature that remiving it dives people away. I don't Google, but, while not the first change they should have made, this isn't as bad a change as y'all think it is. Besides, normalizing not having infitie scroll is only good thing.
@@pufflepoint2 Agreed. I remember when Google had over a hundred pages of 20-100 results each. I hate the scroll feature. I feel like I don't get as many options now that I use to in the early 2000s. I miss it.
Why are businesses today so dumb? if the answer is saving money I suggest you use that money to fix your issue and get a better reputation which is more money IMAGE IS IMPORTANT!
they aren't dumb. their name is synonymous with search at this point, so they don't need to care very much about their image. most people won't start using Bing or Brave or Kagi or whatever what Google _does_ care about is maximizing profits. making a better experience for users is secondary, if a priority at all
As the other replies said, it might not apply to google. But it does to some other companies that dont have a monopoly. Its becoming easier and easier to become a big company just by listening to the users because the standard keeps dropping.
As a user with no dev experience - good. I always hated infinitely scrolling pages. Not for any technical reasons, I just find them unpleasant and unwieldy compared to a page that you can be done with before moving on to the next one. That said, yeah, it's the least of the problems they cold be fixing.
"Infinite scrolling." Ah yes, my favorite pastime. Scrolling on Google without ever actually clicking on anything. I just LOVE seeing all those blue links, man!
They're off pottering about with their scrolling when the google ai is out here telling people that john backflip was the inventor of the backflip and had a rival called william frontflip
They could do 1 of 2 things they could either make it or that there’s an option to search within the parameters of search or an exact search or they could actually interpret your search and search for it written differently.
This is why i use yahoo as my email. Im not trying to get my joints inflamed trying to clear out the spam from my mail box. Its worse than physical mail!
I once had a custom google search that omitted everything but documentation sites and forums. When I found a new one, it was added to the list. It was extremely useful when I needed to google an issue with my code. I ended up losing the html file that was my browsers home for so long. I should re make it
That made me so pissed off when I noticed this happening on the images tab. Like I'm purposely looking up vague information and I want to scroll a lot because either im looking for a very very specific thing or doing huge mounds of research and need every image relevant to my search.
What's wild is if you go past like the first 4 results it immediately has nothing to do with your search term anymore, it's just topics tangentially related to it. It feels almost impossible to find what you're looking for anymore if you're looking for something even remotely obscure
Yeah I just love scrolling through my Google search and reading every single page Google gives me when I'm looking for a quick answer. I can get wrapped up for hours just reading page after page after page.
the only reason i don't use the udm trick is cuz i actually like the non-ai summaries that are sometimes provided, like when you ask google to define a word or when a result from a specific page is highlighted above the other results
Ah, yeah. I often search google for something and end up spending hours upon hours just browsing through the results like a completely normal person does.
I rarely find anything I need on Google anymore. 1. AI generated stupid answers which copied its phrase from another page. 2. New boxes of pretty little pictures that rarely apply to my query. 3. More videos to watch, supposedly with my answers impeded in the video, only to spend time that I do not have.
I missed being able to click to later pages instantly, so I'm pretty content with this, no one else here ever try to find the good shit on page 13 before?
