You are just a number on an Excel sheet. It's just business. That's why there's nothing wrong with job hopping. It's just business you're not getting married.
I got laid off 2 day ago. I spent the day fixing my resume, playing video games, gym and applying to different companies. I already have 3 interviews lined up. I refuse to be depressed over a company that views me as expendable. I just dropped off all of my equipment and walked out. I said nothing to no one.
Maybe I should take on more of your attitude. I was just laid off on Monday and I feel so numb. I’ve been with my company for seven years and due to some heavy policy changes in August, I couldn’t even last through October. But I like this attitude. I want to be strong and I want to pick myself up. I just can’t help but feel a little down in the dumps.
Never get married to a company. View every job as a 1099 gig. There's not a damn thing wrong with job hopping. You are just a number on their Excel sheet and if the numbers say you need to be cut you will be cut no matter how much they love you. When they cut you or you decide the job hop it's just business.
Reminds me of a story about an inmate banging one of the female guards and got caught because they filmed it and spread it. I guess people can't resist letting others know how good they have it lol I'd probably fall for the same unfortunately 😂
@@user-lu6yg3vk9z exactly. If you make 50k a year for a company and get paid 100k a year, you would bet your bottom dollae that when they find out they will lay you off.
my cousin worked at Google and she said she literally did not know what her job was because all she was doing was having team meetings about nothing and she was told by her team leader to just play along and look busy don't rock the boat because if they find out we do nothing we will be fired...they literally have two meetings a day and the rest of the day is them responding to emails that they send each other..madness
Ive read that happens a lot especially in big groups but still Im very suprised to hear that. I dont know if I would be able to stay in a job where Im litteraly doing nothing. Maybe in the beginning but after 3 months I would become crazy.
@gametimewithjamie lil bro she got a job a google your not even half on her level and this is my first time seeing her chanel don't underestimate google workers there smart but have gone soft because googles work environment
They actually can though that’s the funny part. Google is multi billion dollar corporation, they don’t have to lay off their workers. But because silly people on the internet have more anger and aggression towards these tech workers and their “nice and cushy” jobs, y’all completely overlook the fact that these corporations are hoarding all of the wealth.
@@deebee4575 If they didn’t need them, they wouldn’t have hired them for those roles. All their going to do is pile on the extra workload to the remaining employees without paying them for it. Besides my point is people like you have more animosity towards the tech workers because you feel as though their living better lives than you. Typical crabs in the barrel mentality, but that same anger is never extended to these big corporations and CEOs who are literally hoarding wealth. It’s actually astonishing how people don’t see it, but that’s how the super rich stay rich.
All those big tech "influencers" running around vlogging all day at work playing video games, taking naps, drinking wine, drinking coffee, eating breakfast and lunch, instead of actually working. I mean what did yall expect was going to happen if times got tough? Delusional.
We get those perks because it keeps us in the office longer and we work harder. They’re designed to keep you in the office and revolve your life around the office. They’re incredible perks, but they’re not there for no reason.
The fact that many of those so called employees haven't been fired.. people who worked their ass off got laid off.. see the news..one of them was the star performer of the month and he got fired just after few days after this..what do u wanna say
@@gundam12p actually, most companies are legally required to post potential mass layoffs. There’s a federal law against absolutely out of the blue layoffs. The likelihood is that google posted it months in advance, and employees just were not aware.
Laid off a month ago after a nepo baby swooped in, bypassed the interview process, and took my job title. I knew it was game over when, during the introductory meeting, the boss said: “thank you for introducing yourself- now tell the team who your dad is.” Looking for a job still after this nightmare.
😲 Nepo baby swooping in like a cheeky monkey, huh? 🐵🍌 Keep your chin up and your skills sharp - the right job is out there waiting for you to swing by! 🌴🌟
Mild nepotism doesn’t bother me. There’s nothing wrong with using your connections to provide a good opportunity for someone in your family - after working so hard to get there yourself. I would give them a leg up and a way in so they can work their way up; I wouldn’t be f***ing parading them around on their first day like a moron!
I remember working as a mechanic at a Toyota Dealership, one day we have a meeting with the owner and he says that he will be closing the dealership within three days. Definitely was a surprise and I had to scramble to find another job at another Toyota Dealership which was much much farther away and for less pay. For all the tech employees being laid off, there are many other companies out there, but they will most likely not be able to match your Google salary. But at least you have a source of income. Be prepared to adjust your lifestyle cause it will have to change.
@@wallstreetoasis My job remained the same as a mechanic, but having to get up earlier and coming home later was a bummer. I knew that eventually I can move up and get a raise, but had to be patient. As for lifestyle changes, I had to give up on the extra luxuries like eating out or buying new clothes. Had to cook at home more often. Would try and find cheaper ways of entertainment. Instead of going to a bar, my friends and I would just buy a case of beer and hangout.
Let me walk you through my day at (social media site) first I start my day off at the free breakfast bar - eggs toast and my favorite coffee - then I hop on a conference call - then it’s time for my mid morning campus bike ride. After that I like to focus myself in the safe space quiet pods and then it’s time for lunch. Grapefruit and an energy drink - free from the kitchen of course. After lunch I have one more zoom call then off to meet up with friends for drinks and an evening out! 😂 #laidoff
Saw your previous video of how you “literally did 2 minutes worth of work”… sorry to say I don’t feel bad for you. Don’t worry though… I’m pretty sure that J. Fletcher Creamer is hiring ditchdiggers!
The worst part is theses layoffs are just short term solutions to appease shareholders with short term value increase. That's why I am in Government contracting. I know when the end is either near or gets extended.
It’s really about if you are good at communication and playing the politics. That’s really about it. Nothing else more. They don’t care if you can do Laplace transforms or solve partial diff eqs in your head, or how knowledgeable you are. But yeah, I agree, lol they’re not going to fire a worker that does their work in time and in correct execution, rather than some tech influencer that talks about the day-to-day life about how hard her life is being a woman in tech that’s getting >200 K because daddy put her in a rich college while average Joe gets 50 K and screwed by inflation. What a 🤡 world we live in.
YES. She videoed “A Day in the Life” at work but spent more time showing us the office complex, what food and drinks she had consumed (all comped) and had two short Zoom meetings.
@@debswatching those are actually videos made by the propaganda department at google. ie. "HR". they give cash bonuses to employees willing to make recruiting reels for them. it's no different than the military. no one in the industry takes those videos seriously because everyone knows what propaganda looks like. the reality is, employee suicide is a real problem at these big tech companies, despite the advertised free luxury food, free swimming pool and bowling alleys, movie theatres, etc. they just get swept under a rug. you gotta ask yourself why a company tries so hard to make itself look like an adult paradise. its because under the covers, things are really ugly. if you believed the stupid tiktoks you saw online, that means the propaganda worked, and they're attracting more kids to apply for jobs there. if you never heard about the employee suicide crisis, that means the propaganda also worked. there's no such thing as free meals in this world. yes the perks at big tech are awesome; but they come at a cost.
I got some candy, I got my latte, I got my coconut water and green tea, I got pizza , I took a nap in the nap pods... flexing and then this happened. So sorry.

Then ask for a higher salary? Or search for a higher paying job? You're pointing your finger at the wrong direction. Instead of envying other workers that have nothing to do with your paycheck, ask your employers for a higher salary or smth.
I would say it to her face, she fucking deserves it, I think she was an useless employee and as a business owner myself I would've gladly fired her as well for being a freeloader.
It is ridiculous that in 2024 this is how multinationals choose to treat their employees and they get away with it because neither the government, nor the public, nor the (nor former) employees give pushback. It should be mandatory to have some decency when laying off people and not making them find out this way. Just ridiculous and shameful
“Me and my boss sobbed all day together” and “I spent so much of the day crying”. Sounds like you know how to manage your time well. I’m sure you were their most productive employee
Same thing happened to me. There were clues. Clue #1 Larry Page left and was replaced by Sundar Pachai. Clue # 2: Pachai removed the "Don't be evil" Mantra. That was a big one. Clue #3. Colston Birch and the jerk that works for him. There were others to. Apple is a lot better.
Im glad i have a real job as a plumber. Earning 100k++ a year. Never been laid off. Never run out of work and after my day is over im actually usefull on my spare time. I can build a house and my own bathroom. These lazy snowflakes working on pc are useless after their work😅😅
Working for a company is a valuable business partnership where everyone contributes. While changes can happen, it's a chance for growth and new opportunities.
Love how her FIRST instinct is to stuff her face with overpriced Disneyland food instead of saving her precious money for essentials now that she no longer has a job. Our generation has its priorities all screwed up. We prioritize pleasure over our actual career and think companies care about us as an individual. This might be part of the reason she was let go.
What is the point of all the money you make if you don't at least spend some of it doing what makes you happy? We're here for 70, 80 years at most. Depriving yourself of joy will make you a cynical, bitter old fool
@Nazhussain07 Personally I think the retirement age should have remained at 50. But, yes, you are certainly right, money 💰 ain't everything. Unfortunately, this financial capitalism system we have is designed to keep us on the hamster 🐹 wheel until we are nearly 6 feet under. 😶
Let's be honest, she looks like a second generation (her parents were hardworking immigrants) Asian who went to some private highschool to Ivy League uni and was coddled in woke bs because her parents were too hardworking and busy to raise her. So, yes, she can afford overpriced Disney.
all the software engineers who've been rejected by Google despite their skills and experience do not feel any pity for those let go by Google cuz it's such a cushy place to work relative to most software gigs 😂
I got laid off and the entire team was, you mean the entire team performed poorly? There is no way. They restructured and wanted to invest their resources elsewhere.
😂 Maybe programming would've been a safer branch to swing on! 🐵💻 But hey, every monkey has their own path in the jungle of life. Keep exploring and evolving! 🌴🍌
I don’t know this girl outside of her “day in life at google” video.. But if that video was accurate, you 1000000000% do not deserve to have a job.. I mean, what do you DO?! 😂
Performance based is a relative word , there're various "performance" a company aim ,which one they prioritize and which field is of with skilld that is non-negotiable... We're rly in era where capitalism and bad past-era financial & social policies have wrecked us all. Crazy
These kids that worked at Google, where every day was more like going to the park and hanging out with friends, than it was actually working a job, just have no idea. They have this idea in their head that that is what going to work is like for everyone. I bet it was one rude awakening to have to get a real job where you start your work day at the crack of dawn. You get one 20-30 minutes break all day long. And you get written up if they catch you on your phone or talking while you're supposed to be working.
Idk where you work, but you may need to get a new job ASAP if your work environment is anything like you just described. You don’t have work at Google to experience a great work environment, they exist outside of FAANG/MAANG companies.
It was the case of employment where majority of work is done by minority of the workers so when company is going down the first one to go is the majority who is not essential
A.I. is coming for tech jobs really soon anyway. Might as well look for another career like maybe the trades: Plumbing, electrical, construction, etc.. Something that AI can’t easily replace.
@@KingSellassie it's robotics, not AI that will take those jobs. Besides, companies like Google would want to get rid of these overpaid freeloaders first.
In case the company is under recession, Company should cutoff some salary from employees instead of laying-off them. It will be better for them as well as for company.
I'm not gonna lie. . . I fear every day that I'm gonna get laid off. So I've always tried preparing for a "backup" plan that covers 6 months (which honestly is crazy cause even this doesn't seem to be enough) of finance and career plans. My brother was laid off from his job a while back and it took 10 months to find a new one. To everyone ever laid off, it isn't the end of the world. Best of luck to you all.
