GSMArena must be the most dependable reviewer. It takes them some time but at least they present it very realistically. The reviewer is good at this too.
@no "Every phone is the same great color accuracy, good battery life, punchy colors, etc" It's true but that's mostly because very few phones suck nowadays. "Great performance" - no shit, my Snapdragon 855 from 2018 was already extremely fast, so I'm sure the 2023 version of that chip is going to be good. No suspense here. Design, niche details in camera quality, and software are the only things that differentiate phones from each other even that is pretty slight.
@@manthe3711 What I don't like is they downplay the issues. My OnePlus 8 Pro overheats like a mf, but it was never mentioned in their review. Recording video for less than 30 mins will get the phone to overheat and close the app. Some reviewers will mention these issues, but these big review channels that rely on manufacturer review samples will not.
@@awdrifter3394 I think the reason they don't mention these kinds of issues is because they want to keep their reviews as concise as possible. So they have to make decisions on what info is important to keep and what is not.
@noSo you would rather hear some person's subjective opinions who talks a whole bunch of hype BS (e.g. unbox therapy)? Not saying you don't have a point as I've sometimes thought the same too, but I realize that this is just the by-product of being objective. Reviews that favor objectivity lose the narrative and simply report the facts, which can be a bit too dry and hollow for some. If there was a phone that really stood out (either good or bad), you will know immediately from GSMarena.
I went from the S21+ to the Pixel Pro 7, after being with Samsung since the S3, and I'm loving this thing. There was NO WAY I was about to buy the EXACT same Samsung phone that they've been releasing the past 4 years AGAIN. I needed something different, and wasn't about to downgrade and go to Apple, and Google came through.
I have this phone since April last year and it's extraordinary, bought it from Germany and I never regret it. Best phone I ever had. Totally recommend it 😊
@@princessazulaofthefirenati5870 for daily usage is pretty good (one and a half day),if you playing games less then one day , for 5000 mh battery I think it's enough
It's so good. I went from S22 Ultra to Pixel 7 Pro and the smoothness and cohesiveness of the UI and haptics alone are years ahead of Samsung. I started playing with my S22 Ultra after a week of using the Pixel 7 Pro and it felt like I went back 5 years in Android development.
Xiaomi has the best haptic implementation of any Android phone, more so than Google, clean Android is also surprisingly featureless and Google's own apps are pretty basic and simplistic, overall comparing Samsung is a bad example since OneUI is laggy crap even on their flagships.
Great review! Only thing that I missed is discussion of more than 5x zoom. That is where the 48MP sensor really pays off! The camera still has 12MP worth of sensor-data to work with when using 10x zoom.
So many comments requesting to change the song for the audio test, but the best way to compare audio quality of the speakers between multiple phones is to use the same audio 🙂
Glad I found the adaptive sound feature on mine. I was going to return it on the basis of the speaker quality, but it's pretty good with adaptive sound turned on.
I'm glad you mentioned sound. I have the pixel 3XL, with front facing stereo speakers. I'm debating the 7pro or the galaxy s21plus. I am super fine with the 7pro screen. I also have 1440 res and the picture is always spot on. My biggest concern is the speakers. I think...the 21plus may have better speakers. And being they're both bottom firing, as disappointed as i am in losing front facing stereo speakers, it seems inevitable I'm not going to find them other than the Sony Xperias. Which are out of my price range. Any comments from 7pro owner's? Thanks.
@@Meniodakis I love my 7 pro. However if the extra telephoto lense and extra 30hz isn’t a bid deal for you the pixel 7 is amazing value. I needed the telephoto so went for the 7 pro. Here in the UK the 7 pro is now just £749.
I traded in my Pixel 6 because of the great sale for Black Friday, got 80 percent of what I paid for the 6 and 7 Pro was on sale for 749 so got it for 270 bucks, pretty sweet
Unlike when I switched from iPhone 7 > iPhone 10, where I felt almost no difference. It felt a lot faster and the Face ID is nice, and it was a singular model upgrade instead of 3 whole phones
@@SreekumarS1985 it's been very good so far. The phone seems to learn your usage and adapt to it. Mind you: I don't game with the phone, but I do use it a lot for streaming, social media, taking pictures/videos and doing video calls. It holds up pretty respectably and I end days with 25% to 40%.

Nice overview. To me, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the best iOS, the Fold 4 is the best foldable and the Pixel 7 Pro is the best Android experience. But, for $300 less, most are better off getting the Pixel 7.
@@jakublizon6375 if you knew anything about iOS, you’d know that’s not true. There are additional software features on newer models that previous models don’t have - just like Samsung, Google or whomever. As for the Fold, I think it’s the best foldable but if you think it’s the only premium foldable, you’re not paying attention. There are much better foldable phones than Samsung that are Chinese only… if they release international versions, Sammy’s is in for a fight.
The pixel 6 is full of bugs even after a year of updates(my personal experience) it's also a year old which means less future updates. The pixel 7 is so much better better i would recommend everyone to buy the 7 even if it's more expensive
I have had many Android phone's, from current, Sony, Samsung S to one Plus and Motorola, the Pixel 7 pro is the best on the market in the USA for Android. Even beats out the Samung S 22 ultra, because the software is better on pixel 7 pro, cameras are even, but the pixel 7 pro for factor is better, and the seam operates smoother.
I have a pixel 7 and I do love it but after getting interested in phone tech kinda wish I spent that extra 300 for the Pro but hey I still have probably the best value phone on the market. Great reviews as always guys
They deserve 20 million by the end of 2023. The most honest, technical and decent reviewer. Love their app but it can be more useful if provided enough support.

I got this phone last week and it's been fun using my first Pixel. I'm not a huge fan of the speakers tho. Everything else is great. The display is gorgeous.
Yeah I had the 6 Pro, and now a 7p and the speakers had a better sound quality on the older one. They had a surprising amount of bass for a phone. They seemed to trade a tiny bit more loudness for a more sharp and shrill/tinny sound on the new one. I do find it slightly easier to make out at lower volume though so maybe that was what they were intending?
That's really interesting, I have the 7 Pro after the touchscreen on my 6 Pro died two weeks ago and one of the first things I noticed was that the speaker on the 7 seemed much better than the 6. Louder, clearer and warmer. Makes me wonder if the speakers on my 6 were dying too.
@@Alice_Walker I'm coming from an S20 FE I didn't get a chance to fiddle with the Pixel 6 unfortunately. And my gripe with the speakers is very minor in the grand scheme of the phone. I'm super hyped on it so far 👍
No, the speakers were ok on both phones, but here are many people who are paid to advertise this phone badly. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in: Everything is a lie 😢
Nice review. Although in my country the pixel 7 pro is not available, I would like to ask if the picture quality of photos from s23 ultra is equal or better than pixel 7 pro.. Thanks
I've heard people complaining about the audio, but for me.. it seems really good. Be interesting to test a few of them together to see if there's any difference. Honestly mine sounds great.
Here are my comments after using the Google Pixel 7 Pro 256GB for 2 months: 1) The display is very greenish even at full brightness. In the system setting, there is no way to adjust for colour temperature and RGB levels. I am not sure if this is a software issue or hardware issue. 2) The sound levels for alarm volume, notifications volume and call volume can only be ramped up/down in 6 fixed levels. Not very flexible... 3) The power button and volumn up/down buttons are at the same side. likely to press wrongly most of the time. 4) The volume up/down button is the centre of the phone body. It is MOSTLY IMPOSSIBLE to place the phone nicely on a gimbal/stabilizer.... I wonder why the product designer team missing this out... 5) Missing lots of basic apps, even the "MUSIC" app is not included. I downloaded a music player app that able to scan my all mp3s but with advertisement. I think this is really ridiculous to happen on google store. Google shall at least provide a free and functioning mp3 player. Other missing apps include COMPASS, HEALTH, SMART CLEANING (free up space) 6) The spotify or mp3 files album cover is no longer displayed fully on the lock screen for this version of Android :(( 7) No 50MP raw image from the main camera. The max resolution i get from raw file is only 12MP. Overall I feel no surprise or even disappointed from upgrading from LG v40 (my 4 year old phone)... I really hope i can give direct feedback to Google....
Well, if you really like listening to music, you'd know that device speakers are the worst option no matter the brand. The only respectable way is with earphones or a good bluetooth speaker.

I’m looking for a USB-C splitter for my Pixel 7 Pro that can connect to its USB-C port. The splitter should have two female USB-C ports: one for connecting USB-C Apple EarPods to make phone calls, and the otherr for charging the phone and supporting data transfer. This data transfer should enable USB debuggging mode, allowing me to use the mirroring application, scrcpy. I’ve noticed that moost products on Amazon only support dataa transfer on the port that supports audio, but not on the charging port. Can you recommend a product that meets these requirements?`?
Do you guys know if DJI's apps work on pixel 7 pro? I need the apps for my drone and gimbal and I know because chinese manufacturers are pissed with Google they won't provide updated apps on pixel phones because they're Google products. Could you please try or install and run DJI Fly or Ronin? Cheers!
I pre ordered mine in Hazel colour with the Google watch cellular worth £379 my Pixel 7 pro was £849 here in the UK my first Google pixel phone I’m still getting used to it coming from my Samsung s21 Ultra which I will switch to it sometimes, anyway the pixel 7 pro is got an amazing AI with top of the range software & for the price is brilliant I also love the design ok peace ✌️
It is under exposed when you want to take a comercial photo of a subject for an ad, ignoring that it's nighttime, or when the camera sees less than your eyes. If you want a dark photo in a dark scene you can use a 2010 $100 phone
I LOVE GSMArena in unboxing smartphone the style is very clear and the deliberation is much understandable ❤ very nice and I'm satisfied viewer of you unboxing you're amazing
I had my pixel 7 pro 2 months ago. Everything thing is smooth and good in this phone But the issue that I have been facing is Heating and Battery Drainage. While using Camera and recording video within 10 to 15 minutes it starts heating and when you use your Network Cellular Data and do voice call or video chat in what's app or messanger also I'm getting heating issue. Though it has 5000mah battery but the Battery Backup and optimization of battery is not good enough. Hope and wish the Google team gonna fix this 2 of the main problem on upcoming software updates. Let me know or comment below if you guys are having same trouble in your Pixel 7 pro aswell?
My Pixel 3, although it is ancient, I truly adore the UI. Everything was excellent, except for the battery. One of the most important features customers look for in a phone is its battery life. I'm just saying.
Here is my running list on what Pixel 7 Pro (or rather newest line up and newest OS does NOT have: 1. After taking a picture, quick view requires you to have Google Photos installed/enabled (even if you have Google Gallery or other 3rd party gallery installed). 2. No "double tap" to turn off the screen 3. Traking screenshot is either hardware buttons, or task manager and clicking "screenshot" option there (why not gesture Google?) 4. Adjusting the size of the font and size of the icons are applied across home screen, app drawer and settings menu (weird) 5. "NAILED" to the home screen is calendar in the odd upper left area... cannot be removed... DUMB 6. "NAILED" to the home screen is google search bar - even if you are not using it, nope, gotta stay there... DUMB 7. Task manager does not have immediate "Close All" upon opening it... you have to swipe all the way to the left to get to it 8. Multiple icons in a folder on home screen look crowded, rather vertically positioned, not horizontally 9. Wi-Fi switch requires to bring down notifications, click Internet then get to on/off switch... why change this from what it was before? 10. Finger print reader is positioned little bit too high considering the size of the phone (specifically 7 Pro version) 11. Brightness slider (within notifications menu down) is rapidly blinking if you move it to adjust brightness manually 12. Fast charging is really no fast charging: marketed as 30W charger, is actually 23W and 0-100% charging time is 1hr and 52mins... (slower than a Hummer EV ona fast charger btw... 13. Smart Unlock only works with trusted devices (paired BT devices, etc.) and smart places (home address but approximated - within 125 meters range (or ~400ft) around your house. It does not offer trusted networks (once connected to WiFi, then allowing it) - why not Google?? 14. No hardware slider switch for mute-vibrate-ring selection 15. No option to put camera for a quick access on the lock screen of the phone. 16. Keyboard does not stretch all the way to the sides, causing typos all over the place - slightly curved edges serve no purpose. 17. Camera quality does not justify such big rear camera bar that is sticking out... not designed the way it could be designed. 18. When watching RU-vid, sound is not properly equalizied - bottom of the screen speaker is noticeably louder. 19. PIN code is asked for too often after I use my fingerprint to unlock the phone - no option to adjust this, or turn it off. 20. PIN code requires you to click "ENTER" arrow after typing it on the screen. 21. When you open app, clicking back (to home screen) shows a quick blink of the app icon across the half of the screen on the phone... I have sadly hoped Pixel 7 Pro was going to be it... but unfortunately it spend just a few days in my posession and was returned for a refund... they still have work to do...
Having had a 4 that I loved and upgraded to a 6 Pro when I accidentally smashed the 4 and now a 7 Pro I think you'd be very happy with the 7 (or even the 6 if you want save some $) they're both a great upgrade from the 4 particularly if you're somewhere that gets good 5G coverage.
my opinion aout the pixel 7 pro is that they balanced it for social media and for gaming, fpr spcial media usage the display is good for spcial media got that high res high resolution good display good camera, fo gaming is not that super flagship like snapdragon 8 gen 1 chip but the phone has and yes it's just mid perfprmance when it comes to gaming but the phone has better kept cool down so that it doesn't over heat.
Decent looking phone except battery life and camera video recording. Really hope Pixel 8 series improves significantly as my Pixel 5 is barely acceptable in these 2 areas. Would be looking elsewhere to upgrade next year if the 8 Pro is not dramatically better.
I get over 9h of SOT and easily 2-3 battery life. I don't game though and don't use 5G. The phone is easily the best of the year. Dunno what more you'd want and easily has the best video in Android phones
@@MF_OXF I know these benchmarking tests do not reflect real-life use and hope battery life is better than some tests have indicated. Every use case is different, as I have 4/5G almost all of the time, am not in the best signal area and have loads of background smart home apps and notifications. I also have my car connected, often streaming audio or playing video with volume and use phone for work video and phone calls pretty much every day. I know majority of people don't use their phones like this and perhaps iPhone Pro Max phone would be better suited, but I dislike using iOS and much prefer Android. I also use the phone as my primary camera and camcorder so wouldn't want to sacrifice photo/video quality. For videos I much prefer my colleague's S22 to my Pixel 5, but perhaps you're right in that Pixel 7 has significantly improved video quality. Still, would like to see it close the gap with latest iPhones for video.
Battery drain is a big issue with this great phone. I've got assistance from mountain view, but still if I use intensively I must recharge twice a day. Unbelievable
ive tried both android and ios multiple times in my life. iphone just has a lot clunkier software and much less freedom. there's so much more you can do with a pixel compared to iphone. better price too. i can't imagine ever using an iphone again. the bugs and incompatibility with any hardware outside of apple's ecosystem is awful. the fact they haven't switched to usb C yet says it all
_I'm super happy with Google Pixel 7 pro._ *But I've got one issue that as soon as I start charging or use it for a while, it gets overheated.* _Can someone tell me what it can be? & how can i get it solved?_ thanks
fast charging heats up most phones. i use a 5w charger overnight to keep it steady and cooler. gonna have to deal with the heat when you need a quick charge
@@AMessengerofTruth Thank you very much for taking out your time to reply my question. You've been a great help seriously as i was so confused to choose between Samsung glaxy ultra s22 & google pixel 7 pro. You made it easy for me :) 🙏
@@harryvlogs7833 Great and good for you, you can consider yourself lucky But truth be told, this Pixel line with this Tensor chip(exynos) is not great... it's overhyped...if use the satnav navigation for about 2hrs, video calls for another 1-2 hours, and some video recording you're done Not to mention the slow charge, and device warming up 😉
I blame Samsung manufacturing process that is made in Google Tensor G2 chip for more heat and less power consumption. Same situation on what happen to Snapdragon 888, 888+ and 8 Gen 1. Next year, i hope the Google Tensor is made by TSMC.
Then prices will go up exponentially especially in places where Exynos phones are present. The Tensor two was made this way to keep prices down and because of the chip shortage.
Bought the Oneplus 10 pro and had it for 1 day then returned it. In one game that i like to play the fps went down to 15 and its a none demanding game.
For someone who uses a 180 watt super fast charging mid range phone, I find it hard to switch to these so called flagships. Haha i guess they're not flagship phones afterall. 😅
I don't like the camera, usually pixel devices use HDR, so artificial and fluffy photos come out with colors. Even with the HDR option turned off, this is still valid and annoying.
It's a nice phone but I think I'll sell it and get the pro max. Overall it's a decent phone, it's the inconsistency that kills it for me. Firstly, getting into the phone at all is hit and miss. Face works fairly well in good lighting but the moment you are far or in bad lighting it just refuses. Fingerpring is more reliable than face but it still has its moments and i haven't even been forced to use pincode as much as this phone honestly. Camera is superb, some of the best dynamic range and sharpness I've ever seen, even in telephoto, but every now and then it refuses to focus (wide, main and tele). About 20% of the time after quick launching the camera app it just force closes and a couple times this meant i missed the moment and the shot was ruined. It's a good phone in isolation/theory but once the going gets tough it really struggles. Waze and camera app at the same time? Lags. Multitasking in hot weather? Lag. and various bugs here and there, visual and funtional. Display really pops, I love it and actually don't mind the slight curve apart from difficulty of finding good screen protectors. Battery is decent and can last me the better day of heavy usage (I consider myself a power user). Would have loved faster wired charging. Speakers slightly disappointing, not much different compared to my 2yo oneplus 8pro, especially because the earpiece isn't that loud so the experience ends up bing mono-like. It's the custom silicon being a bit weaker and the unpolished areas of the OS that makes this a disappointing phone. Yes it's priced VERY competitively here in Aus I got it for 1100 128gb (14pm and 14p are closer to 1800) but i think if you can afford it, try the iphones. Will update this after I've used the 14pm for a few weeks. I do like the call screening feature because I get a lot of calls as part of my work (although just like voicemails, people often close the phone about half the time and I rarely got to use this featrue, hold for me is great! Text to speech is magic, unblur and remove objects i've yet to use.)
The 14 pm is excellent. Face ID is literal magic. Works very wide angles, sideways , dark, sunlight , far, close , half asleep. Honestly can’t see it getting better. Phone very fast and smooth. Battery is killer. I disable fast refresh rate and use reasonable brightness, close to 10hrs SOT and I’m not exaggerating. Lowest was maybe 8 and I can push to 12 with more lightweight usage. Camera honestly great. Issue now is autofocus and macro mode gets confused all the time. Maybe because of the glass lens protector I’ve installed? Speakers very deep and loud. Honestly don’t mind iOS coming from android and I can do almost everything I used to do apart from otg usb (I rarely used this) and reverse wireless charge. Yes I have to carry a lightning now but it’s a small compromise. Hyped for the next iPhone and AirPods with usb C. Damn you apple sucking me dry of money
It's basically the same phone with less features. Smaller flat screen and only fhd, lower refresh rate (90Hz), smaller battery, no telephoto camera. Everything else is basically the same
