Thank you for this video. You saved me $140 by walking me through how to replace this back piece of glass myself. Appreciate your hard work and amazing videos.🙏🤙 From start to finish this took me less than an hour.
This is an amazing video, thank you, but I have the Pixel 8, the non-Pro version. Are the steps for the the Pixel 8 Pro pretty much the same as they would be for my Pixel 8? Cheers!
No I have not done that video. It will require to remove the screen (risky it can get damaged pixel screens are not very strong) then you would remove everything inside the phone including the battery and wireless charger then move all the parts into the new frame with Back Glass pre-installed. You can try eBay to find the frame or Amazon.
Hi, can you please replace or teach us how to remove the top glass strip from the back of the phone? Mine broke and I'm not sure how to approach the repair
Below I used a heatgun but was not very good and the struggle would make you scratch the metal bezel. At the end it was replaced but had just too much small scratches. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-87mDF3PY7XE.html
Yes and no as because there's tape inside the glass between the cameras for added rigidity if not am sure it would not pass IP68 certification. Alcohol is easy just carefully about the stains (glue +alcohol on camera module lens it's gonna be extremely hard to clear without leaving any scratches)
I had a Motorola glass break in the past. I put alcohol in the gap, and then put 3m tape on the broken glass. I was then able to lift out the old broken glass in one piece.
You can but you may already know the issue with that....make sure you have b7000 only on the frame where the camera will sit. Avoid the b7000 to touch the camera even the body as it can prevent camera module mobile for image Stabilization. Normally these taped camera glass should be good enough to stay attached. If yours came with two of them you can remove the newly installed and install the second one. For the second one you can add a small layer (line) of b7000 on top.of the edge of the camera glass double sided tape (outer perimeter) then stick it on the camera bezel.
Mine got badly scrathed originally but but managed to get completely new replacement off Google. On the new unit i use a camera glass screen protector, it has a little lens flare in bright light but overall I'd rather a slightly lesser image for peace of mind.
They did it free?you have monthly subscription for repair? That’s nice and good to know for anyone who bumped into your comment. They can try Google first.
@@ersbit I don't have any repair subscription just the warranty it came with, I think it's due until 2025 which is nice 😊 I live in Europe and asked them for an advanced replacement. My call quality did seem a bit weird too on the first unit so they just let me replace the whole device as I wrote a big message of issues. The second guy I had with customer service was fantastic and got me a replacement before I went away on holidays so for all the horror stories I've read about support, I've had a great experience at least.
@FROSTB4NE hahaha wow you got a brand new device NICE. In the US am not sure they would do that 🤣 they want $ to do anything. Am very surprised that manufacturer warranty would cover an external damage to the phone. Well you are lucky enjoy your new Pixel 8 Pro 😁
@@ersbit thank you for your prompt reply my friend. I have another question, when I remove the old lens can I clean the camera with micro fiber cloth with alcohol or should I avoid it?
@ersbit lol 😆 So you haven't heard of anything on the Pixel 8 series yet ? Just making sure there is a lot I've read on RU-vid and social media of it happening to the Pixel 7 & 7 pro 🙄🤨
