@@vimalstark7878 If you like Pixel software and Pixel photo science then only go for Pixel. Overall S23 is much better choice, S23 camera is better in some cases while Pixel 8a camera is better in some other cases. No one camera system is clearly better in all aspects.
Worth mentioning, that a phone which heats up will degrade its battery very quickly (heat is very bad for batteries), Imagine this phone having busted battery and taking 2 hours to charge...
If your preference is camera,just buy another good camera hardware phone and just install the best google camera. Then we get better results than this 8a
Not only is the phone $499 in the US, but almost no one will ever actually pay the MSRP. It's the kind of phone that ends up with prepaid carrier bundles. People will realistically be paying more like $250 to $350 for it.
In Australia I got this phone on a carrier deal for 50% off. Interestingly mine doesn't even get warm at all. I had a pixel 8 pro and got rid of it because it was constantly warm. 10mins of internet and it would be uncomfortably warm. Also was only getting 41/2hrs sot max! Seems to be the issue with tensor chips. Big variation in cooling/battery life depending on your chip.
That's been comparable to the views he's been getting since I've started watching maybe 18 months ago. I guess he was at one time. Much larger than that. Frankly though, I generally don't see much correlation between subscriber count and quality these days. Fact I would go up a step further to say I actively avoid the largest channels because I think they're pretty much the worst....mhkbd, Linus etc...
Battery life is awesome with 5 hours 30 mins to 6 hours 30 mins Screen On time. Cameras are really good. HDR processing is a bit of a hit or a miss on human subjects. Apart from that, the cameras are beasts. Nice low light performance. Excellent 3x portraits because of the telephoto lens and superb video quality. I highly recommend this phone. I wouldn't say it's as good as iphone or samsung but it will definitely compete with them. This phone is as good as them when it comes to cameras in certain situations.

you're absolutely right ash. The ads showing up in the play store is just not good! Wonder why didn't Google think this through. Google needs to stop doing this!
The same thing happen in Indonesia for price segmentation. This phone have to survive competition such as Xiaomi 14, IQOO 12, Samsung S23, Iphone 14. It's not a midrange phone. Add with no authorized service support, It's a tough sell.
What mic are you using? What would you choose: Blue Yeti or Maono AU-PM422 if they are for the same price? Required for making reviews and also giving online classes.
Also, it sucks to see that Google is knee-capping the "pro " camera features and in general has made it a little more annoying to use the saturation, brightness and exposure slider.
Awesome video Ash. Regarding the heat, according to a teardown video Google did NOT put a heat sink into the phone. Absolutely crazy decision considering using a hot tensor SOC, probably saved maximum 50 cents per phone

That Play Store Ad section was... pretty stupid argument(sorry). By that logic Google search should not show ads, RU-vid should not show ads, Maps shouldn't show ads on Pixels. There's a line after which apps become their own Product, separate from the basic stuff included with hardware. And apps are only bloat if they aren't needed.
As a standalone app it's dumb to show so many ads... And on their own hardware, where the selling point is "android" - it doesn't become its own product... That's a bad take!

Nope, Gmail or Gmaps arent integral to the android experience... sure they are important, but they can be replaced with a different client... the play store on the other hand, yes there are technically other stores, but google has a huge monopoly there, that realistically outside of china, on android devices, the playstore is used for more than 90% app installs, even fortnite couldn't survive off the playstore... so when the product here is the android experience, and you need to deal with the playstore, to have it so adfilled, feels janky! Yup, you can justify it by calling it "its own product" sure, but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth nonetheless!
Google needs to ditch the stupid tensor processors first . I have the pixel 7 pro , absolute trash compared to snapdragon or mediatek processors. Laggy for games , heats like crazy !
@@siriusblack5187 it's good for a non gamer , but the phone throttles when you push it hard , it gets excessively hot when the ambient temperature is high. Overall a phone priced this high should not be heating like this . They should have gone with snapdragon processors . I used to have OnePlus 9 pro with sd888 which everyone says it heats up , sd888 was a far better processor compared to tensor shit.
@@milans3747 One Plus has really made a solid come back. Their 12 Pro and 12 R are superb devices. Finally their cameras are being competitive. Xiaomi 14 is also a good device where it's officially available
Honestly, if someone really wanted to buy the Pixel, the regular 8 would make a lot more sense for them. 8A is.... weird. However the upcoming 9 seriess... that seems interesting.
Please reply, Be honest sir does it overheat while recording in 4k 30 for 30-40 min continuously. It's summer here in Nepal. If it overheat i will not buy because I want value in it.
This is another successful ewaste launch by Google. Better to get iQOO which has way superior camera system, battery, display and charging tech. If you really want Pixel software then get the regular 8 during sale

12R selfie It's pretty terrible in these images. That would not be a big deal to me as would be fine by a phone that didn't even have a selfie camera though. The least use part of the phone for me. That's why I like to pop-up cameras, it's out of sight out of mind
