you and Mr mobile are the only 2 RU-vidrs that I actually believe give genuine, and un-manipulated reviews. I can't really watch any of the others anymore except for y'all.
I got a Pixel 9 Pro Fold and yea, the tensor chip throttling complaints are bs. I'm a teacher getting a thousand emails a day, using Google drive, editing presentations on the go with the inside screen, and it breezes through everything. Battery life is great for me too. Jumped from an iPhone 14PM. P9PF is the best phone I've ever owned.
Its all tech people who dont leave their tech bubble. I daily a S24 Ultra and have a data only SIM in my (trade-in too good to pass up) Pixel 9 pro and can tell you that even side by side where you should be able to tell the difference, I cant tell you that, oh the Tensor is trash compared to the Snappy. Phone performance at this price point has basically peaked ya'll. Why do you think phone makers are selling you on their AI, photo button gimmiks? Because year over year performance is the same for 98% of us.
Yes! I have one too and the complaints about the chip are really blown out of proportion, they act like this MF got a dual core processor or sumn 😂 this joint smooth as butter
P9PF is a beast! Loving mine: I also use mine for work, editing presentations, spreadsheets, emails, etc. and have had ZERO issues! Went from Z Fold 6 to this and am super happy with it.
Pixel 9 pro fold user here. Absolutely love it. There is nothing I want to do that the tensor chip stops me from doing. I just went on vacation in Vermont, and the cameras were great.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold user here. I haven't experienced any slow down or throttling while using this phone. I LOVE IT although I'm a Samsung Knight and Team Apple. Now I'm a Google Gangster.
Love these REAL reviews. That's why you have a lifelong subscriber big Floss! Seriously, I get tired myself having folks compare the geekbench/antutu scores, etc. Real human beings don't give AF about any of that. Like you said, are these folks playing Genshin Impact for 12 hours straight?! lol
The fact Samsung is going to release the fold we actually wanted in Korea and China 2 months after the release of the international version shows how much they are selling us short.
I've had the Samsung fold 2-6 and I switched to the p9pf and couldn't be happier. The form factor is just so much better for everyday use. It would take a lot for me to go back to the Samsung after this.
Floss, the Obsidian color will have you forgetting about those corners lol. I've had my 9 Pro Fold for 3 weeks and everything Floss says about this Fold is accurate. This Pixel 9 Pro Fold is official and I still have my Galactus for the SPen lol. Great review as always.
1000%! I love that we have all these options that everyone can pick from, but for me, I totally agree. I can't even use any other foldable now. I use 3 app multitasking all the time on my Open because of how well it works. I can't on the others because it's either not an option at all or the implementation is broken, like with Samsung, where two apps are so squished that they're literally unusable. OnePlus really deserves praise for open canvas. It's unique and nobody else has an answer to it. I'd love to see OnePlus/Oppo expand on it and allow more apps, bouncing between different sections, so you can do some pretty insane multitasking, if you wanted to. In its current state, the multitasking is still better on the Open, than every other option. App pairs just don't cut it. Sometimes you need to be able to bounce back between a few apps at once onscreen and it's not the same as switching between app pairs That aren't visible at the same time. It's something you just have to use to understand what I'm talking about.
@@FlossyCarterFair. Some people use that a lot and I would like to see it addressed on the Open 2. That being said, the charging is so fast on the open I don't even mind that it's missing. I can fully charge my phone within 15-30 minutes or on my commute and be good no matter what the heck I'm doing. 😂❤
You can't have 'hamburger' style split with RU-vid on top or bottom without entering canvas mode which is a huge miss imo. This doesn't have to do with multitasking but you also cannot have RU-vid playing on the outside display in 'presentation' mode without using a workaround involving the selfie cam. Little stuff like this that Google and Samsung just get right means the Chinese foldables are the no brainer they could be
I still like the narrow display better. I paid 1,800 to open my phone and thats what i use it for, but i can still use the outside screen easily. The great thing is about different phone companies is that everyone gets to pick their preferences they like on their phones. P.S. Samsung gotta upgrade their cameras.. And good cameras. Great review!
@@txkingg It's the aspect ratio that's the difference. 21:9 outer ratio dictates what you get on the inside. It all depends what you truly use the phone (closed) and tablet (open) for imo. As a Surface Duo user I still prefer the OG Version.
I've had mine for two weeks now Floss, absolutely love it. The cameras are not as bad as some reviewers have made out. Looking forward to listening to your review now on my work to work. Battery life has been pretty decent for me. I pop Standard Battery Saver on mine though but I can pretty much use everything just the same. Keep up the great content Floss.
Tecno phantom v fold 2. This phone, the Pixel 9 fold is a great phone, I just can't get over the camera..... But the Tecno phantom fold 2, sir.... I need you to do this one. It's 1k. And has great cameras, battery life and good real estate. We love you Floss...
Popcorn ready with juice. Fisher and Floss back to back reviews on a Saturday morning 🎉yes still love my fold 6 but seeing other reviews of foldable from these legends always refreshing
Something else that's kind of low-key is the official Google case for the fold really hides the extra bezels well and makes the phone look even more beautiful than it is. Yes, it's a tad bulkier but worth it man.
12:00 Everyone complaining about the Tensor G4 but it's performance is very comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 but way more power efficient than the Gen 2 and Gen 3. Also I'm watching from a Pixel 9 Pro Fold and absolutely love it.
@@xnutzii I can bet you that your not getting 2 days of battery life out of a device with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. I've had my Pixel 9 Pro Fold for about a week now and have only had to charge it 3 times. I'm a decently heavy user, the Tensor G4 is definitely unmatched when it comes to power efficiency.
@@stevensallada4126 You... yeah I won't argue, just gonna give you some facts. The G4 has terrible efficiency, that's why Google won't be manufacturing their Tensor my Samsung anymore by next year when introducing the G5 by TSMC and Google. The most efficient thing Google has, and proven by my Pixel 8 Pro, is the display Google uses. Google has managed to get the by far most efficient display, maxing out at 3.3W with HDR brightness on the 8 Pro. Tensor has absolutely terrible efficiency, with light use, the G4 uses so much power that its battery only compares to phones with smaller batteries. I don't have any official numbers, but under stress, the G3 uses almost double the wattage as the 8 Gen 2 uses. The G4 is not a big improvement over the G3 in my Pixel.
@@stevensallada4126I like the 9 Pro Fold, but my Open with the SD Gen 2 lasted the same, if not longer. Charging that phone is a way better experience too. It was frequently less warm too.
I love your reviews because you hold nothing back. You tell it like it is. You're not afraid to compare other products to the product you're reviewing. Keeping it real 💯
The one I been waiting on since he does the daily activities and test apps like instagram. That’s important on folds since aspect ratios not perfect on them.
I felt the same way you said on the video. I used the OnePlus Fold for awhile and LOVED it but returned it and kept my OG Fold cause I love that Pixel software. Kinda regretted it but when the Pixel 9 Pro Fold dropped I was immediately reminded of the OnePlus Open. I LOVE this device and it's even making me want to grab an Apex edition Open and play with that sweet sweet Hassleblad camera again. Great review so far!
It's been about 6 years since they started introducing these foldable phones. I don't understand why they're still close to $2,000. You would think by now they would have something closer to 1200
@@trustme2001 I agree wholeheartedly, they should be cheaper for sure but I think the economy is messing everything up fr. Cus I don't think certain slab phones should be as expensive as they are either. Whenever people ask if they should get a foldable I always recommend doing a trade in. I traded in my 7 pro and got 800 off. Totally worth it imo. Love this phone
unc, i only watch your reviews bc i feel like youre the realest reviewer out there. unapologetically honest and real. like, you'd tell us if our fit was wack and roast us for it, but in a loving way.
With all the foldable hardware competition out now, I'm REALLY hoping that the Z Fold 7 will have a larger battery, wider front display, and thinner folded thickness. These are the three biggest gripes I hear about the Z Folds. (I complain about it too). I find it weird that Samsung hasn't done anything about this yet.
The review I've been waiting for. I have the pixel 9 pro fold in the box. Setting it up right now for use This phone feels perfect. Regular sized phone on the outside. And tablet on the inside. Phones so slim it is really feels like s regular phone
If they would just have a presence from where i am alot of ppl would be eating good. This cpuntry is filled with samsungs and iphones. On a side note i just got home from work and its time to watch this before i am asleep.
That Rubix cube though😂, As much as I wanted to like the new pro fold, I couldn't give that passport feeling up from the OG pixel fold, so I sent the pro fold back and kept the OG, and got the Pixel 9 Pro smaller variant to pair up with my OG and Razer 2024. Boss video as usual though Floss.
I'm a Samsung Knight but I must admit, I've been using the Pixel 9 pro fold more than my Z Fold 6 and iPhone pm. The usable cover display and mini tablet like inner display gives me a two phone experience in one. Google just gotta up the software - which they are capable of doing.
Random - listening to this at my son’s soccer game on the iPhone 16 pro max. My son about to score. I got the camera set for the action button. Flipped to it and caught the vid of him scoring in 4k! That button came in handy! (Back to listening to you) 😂
@@FlossyCarter glad to hear they made one. I had a clear plastic case but I wasn't a fan of how it was cut out. It even said "Pixel Fold 2" at the side haha.
@@FlossyCarter Be careful with those sent mines back. The issue was the slightest bend to the front case it would throw off the fitment crazy and it won't align right it just buck bugged me extra adhesive is a must I went with thinborne even still had to be careful with that case as well
Right now I have the pixel 7 pro. It's going to be paid off in a month so I'm debating if I want to go with the pixel fold or the pixel 9 pro. I've been wanting a foldable phone for the last 3 years but nothing really ever seen high quality until now with all the new devices, especially the new pixel fold design. I love it! The only thing I'm worried about is a camera quality but Google always does great with the software
I love it when Flossy kicks into Uncle Floss mode giving phone advice and scrolling throwing out the "family show" grunts. Never gets old you're so funny floss
