@@sviraci mine isnt...its superb....in fact i have both the s24 ultra and the 9 pro XL and the pixel is better scrolling, photo shots and AI is a amssive upgrade. Real life performance not stupid benchmarks put the pixel right up there with 15 pro max and s24 ultra....very little between them
People must understand that these comparison videos are for educational purposes only. Of course the S24 ultra is faster but no one actually performs such tests in daily life or notices any difference! You'll be satisfied with both the phones equally. We all know that no actual gamers use Android phones anyway unless it is to pass time. So take it easy and enjoy whatever the phone you use!
@@prakashdon7639 That's nice of you. I can assume some points for this outcome. 1. You can't afford an iPhone (me neither). 2. You're not a streamer which means it could be a hobby. 3. Or you simply don't care. No offense. 🤝
@@evnsriram lol bro the s24 series is just as, and more expensive if you get the Ultra, than the iPhone, gtfo here with that "yOu CaN't AfFoRd An IpHoNe" bs
@@RubenNeves22 guess you missed the test where they put iPhone, Samsung and the Pixel on a head to head running multiple things while playing a game for half hour. Samsung was disqualified. It overheated and shut down 😂
@CoffeeBreakSomewhere you must be dreaming you can literally see every video both s23 and s24 beating both pixel and iphone, even at battery life, stop being a fanboy just straight facts
For me matter most what I DO with the phone that what the phone CAN DO. Evidently Qualcomm is still ahead as a processor but Google is ahead in the AI game which help us be more productive in sort of ways.
@@luizrodriguez1994 it's on 10-25% discount at almost every carrier rn, the price is fine. It's a flagship on par with Samsung and iPhone on pretty much everything except bench scores.
The dirty little secret is that Tensor is just the part of the chip that does AI (the NPU). The rest of the chip is an Exynos. Kind of funny that Samsung talks up the Qualcomm chip when they'll eventually have to compete with Qcom using Exynos.
@@Usman00 We don't use such power to compute daily tasks like calling, texting and scrolling through social media. Gaming can be handled easily by the pixel but not in a long stretch. In other words, pixels are for adults.
@@carver9312 I'm talking about a video that the Samsung overheated and shut the game off. These tests have to do with who's running them.. my pixel has never lagged
The video that showed the heavy workload test where Samsung Crashed. The Pixel was continuing with the highest tempature of 48.6 celsius, Samsung was at 46.8 celsius, iPhone with the lowest operation at 44.5 celcius. Google had the better software optimization followed by Apple. Samsung needs to do a better job in the software. There's another video where the phones were tested on Genshin Impact with the highest settings. Pixel 9xl ran at 39.2 FPS, S24U ran at 51.4 FPS, 15 pro Max ran at 59.2 FPS. The ones that perform the best on this test were iPads with m1 chips and other phone manufacturers running snapdragon processors.
I have watched a different video where the p9p xl beats both iphone 15 pm and s24u in video export (a 4 minute video exported in 4k) the application used was lumafusion i believe the channel was @LoverOfTech. And another video where all 3 phone did a heavy workload test and the pixel again performed really well, if i recall correctly the s24u did not finish the test, it crashed while the pixel and the iphone conpleted the test. The channel for the video is @IDTR.
In the future, an optimization would be more focused because, as we can observe, an ultra with significantly more power than the pixel does not offer a substantial difference in performance. Therefore, in the long run, it would be advantageous solely to the customers.
as long as google uses samsung's nodes, tensor will never be able to compete with qualcomm. thankfully, the next gen tensor is actually coming with tsmc's 3nm process node so it's gonna be good.
Had the Pixel 8 Pro but sold it because the S24U absolutely blows it out of the water speed wise. Looks like Google is still about 2 years behind Qualcomm.
Love the Galaxy note 24 but I'm in love with the pixel 9 pro. Neither phones are too slow or under powered for what I use it for. But I just how smart they pixel is especially Gboard speech dictation. But can't wait to test One UI 7. 😊
The Pixel user experience in day-to-day use is impeccable, from ease of handling to ease of daily use, with a range of features that are light years ahead of the competition. It's so easy to forget about your Samsung and iPhone when you've got all three - real people know what I'm talking about!
@@reinholdlaimgruber4737 for example the phone adapts to your lifestyle so within 1-2 weeks of usage phone will learn about you and adjust accordingly and for loading lag u mentioned pixel adapts from %hz to 120 hz
I was Pixel 8 Pro user, recently change to S24u, and have to said, i wasnt aware of the laggy situation i has in mi p8pro u til I reach my s24 ultra, everything is so smooth now
Thanks for your honest opinion but I’d still prefer pixel over Samsung as pixel’s performance in long run is much more persistent than Samsung and the app speed test is sort of invalid cause all the apps are not yet optimised for G4 yet as it is a new release and I can confirm that as I’m a app developer and the cpu and it’s architecture plays a major role in app behaviour… and at least AI features provided on pixel are free for lifetime and are more accurate and I can’t deny that the pixel’s cameras are way more reliable in various conditions capturing the desired image perfectly almost every time… so pixel it is.
the problem with android is that you have several different soc. tensor, exynos, snapdragon, mediatek. so apps are never optimized for all its variants.
@peterfamut yes u can get similar performance on lower end phones and there are phones priced lower then the pixel like the redmagic coming at $900 and the performance is way better then both of these phones even the normal s24 is better then this Google pixel device
And that's why I chose the s24 over the pixel. The lag with scrolling ......and the modems, on the previous models were really bad. Google always makes excuses, with yeah we will fix it with android 15. They needed 4 Generations to fix a heating problem 😂
I'm sure this guy didn't turn on Smooth Display to take advantage of the display. It's not automatically set and if you aren't used to pixels you will forget to set it. If it was turned on the scrolling would have looked the same.
Thank you for doing the scrolling test! I just got the Pixel 9 Pro, and scrolling is kind of choppy on the Reddit and Facebook apps. Apparently the Android 15 update will improve things in that department. Everything else about the phone is pretty awesome although I'd like to see more customization capability with designing the home screen and icon font size, and also having an EQ for the audio.
@@rizaS55 I'm not whining about anything. Just happy I have always stuck with Samsung as my daily phone. I have an iPhone 15 pro max too. I prefer my Samsung all day. You're the one who seems salty for some reason.
Do you even have the Pixel 9 Pro XL set to 120Hz? It could be that compared to the speed/performance of the Tensor G4 chip 🤷 I'm looking at switching to the Pixel 9 Pro XL in a couple months, I'm getting tired of Samsung phones at this point.
I honestly like the pixel 9 pro but it has to be for sure cheaper than the s24Ultra. Its not a flagship phone and should be priced one step below those ultra and max pro Phones. Its more in the oneplus 12 league. Speed, speakers and batterylä life are just one step below the others. Display and cameras are great of course.
Battery life and speakers are just as good as the S24 Ultra. Speed in non-AI apps is one step below, I agree. AI, camera's and OS are at least one step above. Heavy workload test, the Pixel also beats the Samsung. Display, build quality are best in class. For example, the Pixel 9 Pro can keep high brightness way longer than 15 Pro Max or S24 Ultra. Don't just focus on gaming speed when deciding if it is a flagship phone.
Thank you for this comparison. Can you please make a video focusing only on Google apps in S24 Ultra for Pixel users like me. We can see if contact, photos, drive etc are just as good or similar in other flagships or not. Thanks
Of course Samsung S24 Ultra will beat the Google pixel 9Pro XL in raw specs. I don't play any games on cell phones. I got tired of all the boat ware on my Samsung phones. As well as Samsung installing unwanted apps on my phone after a security update. I'm happy with my Google Pixel 9Pro XL. The lag on the Pixel will be fixed with a future update.
@@kfirdrake8711 when a phone installs games without your permission it's still wrong. Many users have had that problem with their Samsung security updates.
Hey thanks for a test. I have one concern, maybe difference with load time of online content is because you have SIM card on galaxy? Maybe I'm wrong but android can use in the same time WiFi and mobile transfer to faster load online content? I think that was possible on some phones. Please check if that is the case, and if yes I think there should be test where both phones are without SIM card. Greetings
@@Imorgeyou’re right… but that’s not gonna be the case when Google Tensor G5 launches with TSMC… i really love pixel no bloatwares the only reason i don’t buy an android phone cause i need pixel and pixel is not the best at performance
I mean, the tensor is "alright" at best. Snapdragon is just a better chipset in terms of reliability and efficiency. That being said, the tensor is still a "new" chipset (not really) so it does have time to improve, just the fact that the phone cost the same if not more than these high end phones with Snapdragon makes it not worth it (this is just my opinion on it)
Your videos are good but your comments are filled with samsung fanboys its honestly annoying. We get it samsung phones are good but stop the glazing and hating on every damn phone, especially on the iphones but thats kinda valid.
Same.. Too many hardware issues crop up... I had the pixel 6pro, 7, 7 pro, 8 .. And they have all landed at the service centre before being sold.. S24 ultra, 6 months, still going smooth as butter.. Not a single glitch..! That's why you pay that much...
@@jmillseyno way. You still need to hit the exact spot to unlock. I've never managed to do it accidentally. And it took months of muscle memory to be able to consistently hit it without looking. But it's such a nice feature to be able to unlock it without looking.
What they are doing with the tensor is a long term plan. They will eventually Catch up and have all the advantages of developing both hardware and software like apple
The lag in the beginning if tou did youre homework is because when the phone is not in use it downs the hz to 60 ...then when you start using it ,it goes to 120hz
They won't listen When i tell those pixel fans that 3rd party app devs don't do optimisation for tensor because less that 10% of phone users are pixel users but most users use phones with snapdragon and mediatek so 3rd party app devs in order to satisfy most of their users have to prioritise optimisation for snapdragon and mediatek and leave tensor behind even behind exynos since exynos phones get more sales / have more users than pixel/tensor. Same things like bugs and stutters have happened in a test by the yt channel called VERSUS but with pixel 8 pro. Google can't do anything to fix that except pay every single app developer team to optimise their apps on tensor or somehow get as many users as Samsung has. This is literally the reason iPhones have the best optimisation, they get more sales/users than android flagships. The phones with most users are getting treated the best. Take another example one ui 6 came first to a54 instead of s23fe 🤷🏻♂️ again because a54 has more users.
Do you have Smooth Display turned on? You have to go into settings and activate it on Pixels. I don't understand doing these test with a phone that just came out against a phone that has had updates and patches on it though.
no relation, if the Scroll lag at the beginning it will not change anything. I myself did the test in store, and on some applications like youtube for example, the S24 has always been more fluid in scrolling.
Although Tensor chips are designed for improved AI capabilities and other features, I think it should not be too far behind the Snapdragon chips in terms of performance. That way, the specializations of the Tensor chips can be used as an additional selling point, and therefore, an advantage for Pixels and not as an excuse for its current performance. Especially since they are on the same price range as other flagships. The question will always be "which one gives better performance?" People don't use their devices for google apps alone. Performance matters in a lot of applications outside of what Google offers. I really like the Pixel's recent designs, features, and capabilities. But having a chip that performs so far behind other flagships at around the same price will make you think twice about getting it. Come on Google. You can do it! I have high hopes for the next generation of Tensor. ❤
At this point I don't care about the speed test anymore. If the phone doesn't lag and doesn't have any frame drops or stuttering even when scrolling, I'm good already. If I want to play games, an iPad/ ipad Mini would be better than your smartphone.
why you compare a high tech SOC vs a low budget SOC? Snapdragon 8 gen 3 is 1900000 Atuntu sccore hardware and a high tech flagship SOC Snapdragon 7 gen3 is 900000 Atuntu points a low budget SOC for cheap phones Tensor 4G and 3G 900000 Atuntu scores both have and both are in the range from low budget SOCs near a Snapdragon 7 gen 3 a low budget SOC. so what is the point to take a low budget SOC and try to compare it to flagship hardware? is it not better to compare 2 low budget hardware phones?
Google is selling you a phone at a high-end price. What you expect is high-end hardware. In your opinion, Google would be inflating the prices too much to sell it to you as a "high-end" phone when it really isn't. 🤔
Your boot test is invalid because the pixel was performing an update during boot. You can tell it was because it has the loading bar which isn't shown on regular booting.
Yes this is true. TSMC will be making the Tensor G5 chips for the Pixel 10 series. I plan to upgrade from my Pixel 7 next year when the 10 Pro XL comes out. I can't wait
@@mwj9080it won't help much. Google are still the ones designing it. Tensor G4 used the same node as the exynos in S24, yet it performs much worse. It's not a node issue, it's a design issue.
the thing google ruined after android 11, is the quick switch shortcut on the 3 button navigation. If you turn on 3 Button navigation under system settings. and double click the square button to switch between the last two open apps, it was rocking fast magically useful and extreme handy. I would make a special request if you can turn on 3 button navigation on both devices and try to quick switch two apps using the double tap shortcut.
Fun thing. On the google keynote when showing gemini on stage they used a s24 ultra. When they startade to show specific things for the new pixel like the photo thing add me or what it was called the pixel popped up on the big screen.
Don't like how huge the front camera is on the google pixel 9 pro, it's also so lower taking to much screen IMO. Still using s23 ultra and don't need to upgrade.
I don't usually comment but not sure what was going on there. I have the s24u and pixel 9 pro xl and my experience has been quite the opposite. It boots about 5 seconds faster for me and opens apps quicker than my s24u. It also feels smoother but that could be because of Android 15 beta but that's crazy to see so much variance between experiences. The pixel in your video was performing like my 8 pro that I traded in and I haven't had any of those issues with my 9 pro xl
