Google Pixel Fold or Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5? HARDWARE, BATTERY, & CAMERAS! 

I own both these phones and the Fold 5 is all around the better phone a good test is shoot a 4 minute video in 4k with both phones then go and try to to edit them you'll see everything you need to know

Great video. Each device has its own pros/cons. I personally prefer the Pixel because of the software. That Pixel experience.

As someone who has the fold 5, but just loves tech I still enjoy to hear you opinion. I don’t take these things too seriously. I would really like to try a pixel fold at some point and hope that both continue to improve. I’m really enjoying my fold 5 and am always amazed at how much depth the Samsung software has. Love to nerd out and tweak everything exactly how I want it.

I like the fact that the pixel fold is wider, but I do not like the fact that shorter I want Samsung to keep it exactly the same but just a little bit wider. I’ll be happy with that.

I’ve had all the Galaxy folds, this year I picked the pixel fold and I’m loving it!!! I’m not going back to Samsung until they widen that front screen it’s useless. I had to open it every time I was doing something.

Split screen to me is better on z fold. Contrary to what you said, you get more content on the zfold 5. And the ratio is better at 21:9 compared to the short 16:9 on pixel fold

I agree with your opinions. I have the pixel fold and the z fold 4 and keep thin carbon fiber cases on both to keep them light and sleek. I have the pixel OEM case however I stopped using it because it adds bulk and weight. I won't recommend it.

I bought a surface duo for $214 and I still love it. I know it's not up to date but I it does everything I need it to. I also love the look and design of the Duo. I get a lot of ooohs and ahhhs when I'm out and about

I honestly believe the biggest issue with modern phones, including foldables is the lack of removable battery feature that phones once had. It's really sad. Imagine being able to go from 0 to 100 in a out 5 seconds. Anxiety out the window when you can carry an extra battery. This, to me, has been a problem for a long time. Thoughts?

I bought my 1st fold, the fold5. I can list a lot of good things, it's a really good device, I like the software, the screen is nice and bright, the battery life is pretty okay too, the multitasking is very good too. Using the screen open is really fun. The photos and video recording and the sound are also good. So lots of positives for the fold5. But.... there are also a number of downsides; the 6.2inch screen can be handled very well with one hand, but it is still made too narrow, especially with a cover, I often bump my thumb against the side edges of the cover, I don't like that. That's something that makes me have serious doubts about keeping the fold. If I open the fold, I would like to keep it haha. But, the selfie camera is also not good, blurry and blurry. I'm considering going for an iPhone pro 15 or 15 pro max and if I don't like that device 100%, I'll probably buy the S24 Ultra.

You think Samsung's aspect ratio is narrow on their Fold smartphones? Imagine if Sony came out with an Xperia Fold.......

@J. Williams, I am definitely a Samsung guy, and yes, I do want Samsung to widen the screens on their foldables. And yes, I do like Google's Pixel Fold design, but not enough to get a Pixel Fold. I am willing to wait until Samsung finally gives us the device we want and they definitely will. Just a matter of when.

Maybe Samsung could benefit from offering different size options in the Fold line.

I for one like Google camera bar. But I always liked samsung phones better.

Both are great phones. But I do enjoy my Pixel Fold better. I’ve never had any problems with battery life.

I have both and i prefer the pixel fold soley because of the outer display as the narrow one on the fold 5 os pretty much useless for me and i use my fold more like a phone than a tablet anyways but overall the fold 5 is a better device but that narrow outer just kills the experience for me

I prefer the zfold5 over the pixel, i like the narrower feel myself, my son has the pixel fold not a fan🤷‍♂️

These phones are for the common people, for me tictok, instergram, gaming and video taking are not my thing. A good performance and style are so for me the Pixel wins due to front and inner use together. Not picking one screen over the other because one is too thin. Great video and I am not right just my opinion.But you mention alot of things I agree with bezel being one

Im a samsung fan but for this to b Googles first foldable im impressed. I text alot and it seems like it'd b much easier for me to do on the outer display of the pixel

I am a Samsung fold 4 owner and I disagree about wanting the same size outer screen like the pixel. The only thing I would want that the pixel has is the speak text feature. I want the 23 ultra cameras. I love using the spen and Samsung Dex. All Samsung has to do is find a way to have the S-Pen installed inside the phone, but the key is going to be if Apple put out a folding phone then it's game over, I hate to say that and I'm in Android user

They don’t even carry the Pixel Fold in Canada so it’s gonna be Z Fold 5 for me. Furthermore, the only Pixel I’ve ever liked is the 4A. I’ve tried to like pixels but just can’t.

Actual pictures though Google pixel wins on quality. I've seen both and honestly the pixel feels like an actual professional camera where the fold still looks like a phone camera. Since pixel use both hardware and software for their cameras. Also I like the long metal strip it's different to the bog standard camera phone set ups, it's something different for once. The fold just looks like any other phone, nothing about it stands out, and the pixel is much cheaper. Plus the fold has been flooded by bad reviews saying how often they break.

I think Samsung did a better job. I like the slim outer screen. I don't need a short wide outer display, if I did I would have got a slab phone.

Easily the Google Pixel Fold. Having a smartphone that also opens into a tablet is just better than having a tablet that folds with a cover screen.

The Fold 5 Magnetic case by Torres is so legit. Plus no adhesive for the cover screen side and magsafe.

My pixel fold has been an almost perfect experience. I got it for $800 through verizon. Yes, its for 3 year in bill credits, but lets hope it stays great for the next 3 years. Lol. Thanks for sacrificing your beautiful skin, J. 😂

I do like the performance of Z Fold 5 but I'm sticking with the Pixel Fold. Google made some serious strides with video recording with the Pixel 5, but after that I don't know what happened.

Bro, if Google's software catches up, it's a wrap for Samsung. Samsung seems to be set on the outer screen design, and Google wins already in that regard.

Coming from z fold i bought the pixel fold. Looks better feels better and i can text easily. U trippin, the back of the phone looks waay better on pixel fold then the z fold.

13:14 Yes it is googles first attempt but we can't really compare that to samsungs first attempt because google had time to see what worked and didn't from watching huawei, LG (dual screen & rollable that never dropped) & samsung since there first fold in 2019. Samsung had to learn by trial and error since it was knew tech and there were only about two other companies making foldables.

Fold5 users will have massive regret knowing that they could have waited a few weeks for the superior upcoming OnePlus/ oppo... The Fold5 has an abysmal face unlock, poor battery charging, lack of IR blaster, and the glaring outdated cameras, and the nagging narrow front screen, will be a continual burdonous eyesore. Only Samsung fan-bois will deny this. If purchsed, Return before it's too late. Special $$$ trade in deals of Samsung will not help the long term user regret, on user experience. Any fold will be impressive to a new user, as there is greater multitasking ability. I had the Samsung Fold3&4, so speak from experience. While Samsung has a polished OS, it is just too narrow for vertical use, even when opened.(!). I Had to use the main screen sideways every time(!) to avoid multitasking app issues, from apps forced into a narrow aspect ratio. Yes even opened, the apps are forced onto an aspect ratio not native to apps. Apps will behave funny, and browsers will have missing buttons on some sites due to being confined in narrow space. So you are forced to turn your unit 90° (sideways) EVERY TIME.... The same format and size which the pixel Fold is natively in!. Also "Flex mode" looks better on "wider" screens like the google pixel. This is also most noticable on the even wider surface duo/duo2 ..Once you go fat, you don't go back. The google Pixel only need to go a bit taller in next iterations, and switch out those cheap screen types that look dim in sunlight, plus an updated processor that won't keep unit warm all the time, as pixel does. I myself "downgraded " to ( a "surface duo 2"), in wait for the "OnePlus". It will give a better form factor than these units. The Fold5 is actually just an upgraded Fold4, which should have sold for $900, because of zero change in innovation or design. Samsung admits this by giving you a $1k trade in. It's nothing more than an upgraded unit, because of "forced" normal updated parts changes(like the chips), due to parts manufacturers updating their latest parts and EOL replacements, which always include circuit diagram updates for thier updated parts, so practically ZERO innovation here... Consumers fall for this year's iteration, because of "new toy syndrome" and shiny new parts. Even the screen HAD to be updated from last gen regardless, as manufacturers of screens are always racing to be competitive and have new screens, not last year, old parts. Samsung just lazy in "cashing in" on an updated phone, instead of pushing for a new phone. This year is a "skip-year" for Samsung Fold, unless your getting an s23 Ultra, which actually has a Bluetooth integrated s pen, great cameras, and good battery. Sorry but the only good thing about the Fold5... is being able to upgrade in future, to a Fold6.

Will Samsung eventually release a phone with the screen proportions of the Pixel Fold? Yes. It’s obviously the better form factor. I am on the Samsung train so I’m stuck with narrow screen for now. Maybe next year. The Fold 5 is nice hardware though so I’m alright with it.
