Even though this one isn't as good as the first, I do like that LaFlamme's character arch was completed. Him getting the clutch assist for versus getting the game winning goal himself made me smile.
I happily agree but not completely. This last ending, that last moment knowing he throws that last haymaker was hard coming to terms that his life needs to move on with his real team. That alone put this movie on par with the first. But the first was the best.
I like how people think this was a sport and not just fully fucking insane like Yh you can fight as much as you want but only if you take your gloves off first like it’s fucking mental how this was even conceived as a sport
I'd like to see a 3rd film, where modern science fixes Glatt's shoulder and the Highlanders go the distance in the playoffs and win the cup. A fitting ending with Glatt's family (and his kid) seeing him win a trophy.
Dude what if the third film takes place when Doug’s kid is playing and he is just as good as laflamme but not tough and Doug teaches him how to fight and defend himself against goons.
I wish they had the same director and writer from the first one this one at times feels like a comedy and the first one was all serious fighting and real hockey playing this one is just brutal gory fighting
If Im not mistaken both movies were written/directed by that scrawny, weird looking guy. In the first movie he had a hockey fights website. Also the guy who plays Weasel in Deadpool, I think he wrote a lot of this movie. Hes a sports newscaster in it.
I love how Ross and Doug have kind of an Apollo/Rocky relationship. Like yeah they were enemies, but the respect was always there, so then becoming friends makes sense. I honestly just really like the progression of this entire sequel. Xavier and Doug’s friendship is so much stronger. Fergie being their medic and Ogilvey becoming a coach both just make perfect sense.
@@LgWilly744 yea I didn’t recognize him until like mid second episode and was suprised lol I just hope people don’t hate on the actor instead of the character
Goon 3. Gets an offer to play NHL hockey leading up to a final battle against Tom Wilson. He retires again and they hang #69 from the rafters after his team goes on to win the cup
Words can't express how happy I am to see Shawn Michael Scott escape the type casted "Stifler". Hopefully he will be around for a long time and continue making great movies.
@@russellsherwood1491 Pretty sure a prime Rhea would beat Glatt too. The way Rhea is portrayed in these films, he's better than all real life NHL enforcers.
While people were making fun of how Wyatt Russell looked in the Captain America suit at the beginning of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I knew he would deliver because of this movie.
"It's never over. We're gonna do this night after night...game after f&#%ing game... Do you hear me, Doug? *Game* after F&#%ING game...!" He just doesn't know when to give up, does he? I'm glad Doug punched Anders in the face but it almost cost him his right arm yet he threw it out. Not just for Ross, but for his team and especially his family. Righteously, he chose mercy over revenge.
Even in Real Hockey there's a fine line but I love the Goon movies because anything goes 😊 its funny and absolutely hilariously bloody and brutal I love that Crack by Rhea to Caine... "you want some point break"? 😆
I love this movie but you stand there in a state for 5s you aren't doing anything other than getting stripped of the puck. And Rhea would have listened to his coach.
I Always Wanted to Play Hockey...But It Wasn't in My Area. (Yet When I Travelled North in My State...it Was *EveryWhere!)* WestVirginia, RaleighCounty is My HomeTown...& When I Travelled to Wheeling WV, Hockey was All Over ThePlace.🤷
I thought I saw a movie rental box for a movie about a whole team being like the Hanson brothers from Slap Shot and I thought it was based on a real team. Does that sound familiar?
They took everything good about the first movie and threw it right out the window. Didn’t need a sequel either the only highlight of this is seeing Rhea and Glatt on the same team
