Nice video. Very nostalgic for me. Growing up taking family vacations in a 17 foot Shasta brought us to Goose Island at least twice a year from San Antonio. I'm really glad to see the improvements on the bayfront after Hurricane Harvey. That was closed down quite a while for repairs. The pier is pretty much brand new. This park is a in a great location being on the Lamar Peninsula you have fairly easy access to Corpus, Port A, Padre Island, Mustang Island, etc, etc. I enjoy your videos. Been a subscriber for a while now.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I appreciate your support! I’m glad the video brought back good memories. I enjoyed Goose Island SP and didn’t want to leave! I will probably stay at Goose Island the next time I need to run over to Corpus Christi. Next time, I will try one of the bay sites!
Thanks for the great video! I have reservations here in 3 weeks. Looking forward to it. I will be in a site across from the bay. Fingers crossed for good weather(as always). First going to Mustang Island State park. Have been there twice before. I have a Class C RV. Happy trails🌞
I love the informative things you put out on our Texas state parks! My girlfriend and I are new to the state parks, so you help us out a lot! One thing my lady is scared about is alligators. We reserved Choke Canyon park... signs said alligators. Have you seen a lot of them in state parks? Thanks again!
I appreciate y’all’s support!👍To answer your question, it really depends on the park you reserve. I personally have seen them at these state parks I’ve listed: Choke canyon, Huntsville, Brazos bend, Caddo lake… just to name a few. With that being said, we’ve never had an alligator come to our campsite. Brazos bend is the most active for alligators. You shouldn’t let that stop you from going to these great parks. Thanks for watching and enjoy y’all’s trip to choke canyon sp! 👍😎
I usually fish east of here in Port o Connor or near Port Lavaca but I've heard good things about this place, supposed to be good fishing out there. Passed by here many times gonna have to finally stop by
Absolutely, Goose Island SP is a hot spot for fishing! What I liked was that there was plenty of space to spread out. People were wade fishing, fishing off the bank. putting in their boat, fishing off the pier, etc. The waterfront campsites we’re really popular for fishing too! By far was one of my favorite parks!
You are very fortunate to have such a cool playground! I love Goose Island and the surrounding area! Until recently, I didn’t know that I had relatives that lived in Rockport. 👍😎

Great question! Entrance fees are $5 per person, except for children 12 and under, who are free! If you purchase a state park pass (which I highly recommend), entrance fees are waived. The electric and water sites are $20 per night, while water only tent sites are $10 per night. Your park pass gives you your second night 1/2 off! Thanks for watching! 👍😎
