I remember reading this story fifty years ago in a freshman English class and never forgot it…the gusto and joy Ivan ivanovich swimming in the millpond, and the lovely Pelagaea, and the life of the brother obsessed with a delusive dream, how he believed that the sour gooseberries were a divine dish.
