She is a symbol & a champion of the green movement. If you want to weaken a movement, target the champion (MLK). But in this case, grown men are verbally jousting with a teen. I don’t know how they can live with the embarrassment. Lots of $ I guess. Not exactly the knights of the round table.
Because you are paying taxes to people that doing nothing about the problems that you have stated they already know. So why are you voting for these people doing nothing and taking your tax money for nothing?
"people should step out of their comfort zones and start to take real action." ...she says in her million-dollar house, living with all the luxuries and commodities that she'd ever want and more. Tell me again, how it is that this obnoxiously self-righteous and ignorant girl has become so "popular" in the mainstream media? It hardly seems organic.
How do you know that she has a million dollar house? I don't understand why people are so upset about a girl that tells big companies to go green as soon as possible.
we need to stop expotentially polluting this planet for the same common sense reasons trumpkins don't cr*p in their bathtubs. r I g h t? a belief in 'science' isn't required..
@@beardedrogue4282 she knows china is the number one polluter, however china wont listen to her or anyone on the matter. Do you see china inviting people to talk about this like the US and other countries? nah. what influence does she have on china? we have to influence and pressure china ourselves. y'all act like dino juice isnt bad but humanity has only been using it for a little over a century and data we have on what its doing to our planet is alarming.
"There is no magic amount, science doesn't work that way" So how do you know the levels of co2 are too high? What's not too high? Zero co2 on the planet?
Djinghis Khan 😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 you are a fool shes reading from a teleprompter look at her eyes 👀. She is a tool for the rich to make money out of this. Wake up please god help us all .
The guys emitting 99% of the pollution get a pass, the 1% however who actually try to actively mitigate environmental harm, the only countries where it's illegal to damage the environment, abuse animals, and where human rights are a thing; THEY are the enemy of course.
99% emission is from poor countries with less income. Food is more important than the climate crisis for them, which will make sense if you know what hunger is.
Simple, because 1 billion dollars a day is spent worldwide on climate and that is what matters. This abused girl will never understand that, except of course when she looks at her parents.
@@nawidayobi Wouldn't change much in this case, it's a greek word and is present in most Western languages, including Swedish. Sounds pretty much the same, means the same.
@@belisaurusgaming6192 What Nawid wants to point out is that these old geezers get the discussion in their native language, Greta does not. That makes a difference!
@@belisaurusgaming6192 Either way, she has to explain in English. And this is all besides the question anyhow: the message from scientists is very clear and Greta just amplifies it, because politicians don't listen. They now try to take on her, because she reached so many people, but they should have a discussion with the scientists.
If you make below $50,000 and you think one of the political parties is for you then you're the problem so enjoy the show every time you see it on TV or RU-vid. Stand together or let them continue to divide us when they have all the power all the resource and all the money.
How about just if you think Dems or Reps are for you...you are the problem. It's the people making all the money that are the problem and the brainwashed zombies that prop them up on both sides. Zombies buy into the culture war and finger wag at the other side while the establishment literally robs them blind. It's hilarious to watch as Americas fools keep thinking voting for either of these parties will ever change one thing. These teams are both owned by the very same people. Everything else is just theater.
Her own words. “We need to think realistically”. This is very telling from when she had her speech. I was once exactly like her. Then after educating myself and years of research, i realize how dumb i was. People with their own agendas using her as a mouth piece so you cant hate on a kid. Pathetic that they think we cant see that.
It is nothing more than child abuse on a large scale. At every school, children are scared and have to protest, they no longer learn to think about anything.
Because this 'child' has more sense than half of congress. Because she actually listens to scientists and knows what is going on with global warming. They should/could ask the scientists to come over, but they ignore them too. Because they prefer to 'believe' they know better...
@@glapanowski no but personality politics is. if this were about the climate they'd have a scientist on but it's not. democrats want to say they're friends with the nice eco lady (even though they've done nothing on climate for decades) and republicans want to show how they're standing up to the mean bad child (because they're morons)
She's 18 years old. She's legally an adult now. It's irrelevant anyway because her rhetoric is based on the science of climate change. I don't understand why it's controversial to say we should take care of our planet.
"... if we in high income countries ...". There you have it folks, she has boiled down in just a few words what this whole climate change issue is really about.
Buddha's Disciple i agree usa 🇺🇸 and Europe started it but have reduced co2 a lot . India 🇮🇳 and china 🇨🇳 are big polluters now that's why most manufactured products come from but all countries are playing there part. The fishing industry is the key to reversing this . But all they are interested in is carbon tax. So that shows you all they care about is money 💰 not fixing the real problem.

@@vcommodore9161 no. By the parents who let her expose herself this way. By modern education that bases its existence in making kids believe that the world is ending.
I don't think she knows what a 'metaphor' is... Also, the fact that there's no numbers to put to "an acceptable amount of Co2" should give you a pass to never listen to these people ever again. You can objectively measure the amount of Co2 in the air. They keep saying "there's too much." So how much is too much? What is the end goal of climate legislation? Of course there is no end goal. Having an end goal and achieving it means you stop getting paid. The goalposts will never stop moving. The tax dollars will never stop getting funneled into the middle east.
Why the EFF do Republicans expect teenagers to sign their life away on a college loan they don't fully understand just how much it really is costing them? Jeezuz 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
@@klauskinski5969 They don't point to any studies that say what should be done, or that doing anything would do something to curve climate change enough to stop what those studies DO suggest. Typical people will see this as an unfair fight between an old man and an 18 year old, but they don't realize everyone on your screen is propped up by some handler. Someone or a group of people who make sure they are going the right path. She's being taught how to speak at public events and finesse the activism grift far better than an average 25 year old would be able to.
I don't get why people hate on China for their emissions that much. yes, they emit the most emissions out of any other country, but thye have an extremely large population, and in reality, their emissions per capita is very low compared to other developed countries. Yes, I hate the CCP, but we need to give real criticisms, not make-believe

"In order for people in developing countries to raise their living standards we in high income countries need to take a few steps back"......I give her credit for admitting her agenda unlike the rest of the left.
It is completely clear that you have not understood the climate mafia at all. To be clear: 1 billion dollars is spent on climate every day and worldwide, and that is considered about 100 times too little.
How many who want to end climate change have given up their heating, AC, dishwasher, car, TV, computers, internet, cell phones, washing machine, dryer, hot water, refrigerator, stereo, lights and everything else powered by electricity or gas? Otherwise, don't bother me with your response..
She is not dumb but she is not special, every interview she does is like this. If you disagree with her you shouldn't be mad at her though, be mad at her revolting parents and the media that have pushed her presence like mad since day one, regardless of how out of her depth she is during any sort of debate where she isn't surrounded by people worshipping the ground she walks on.

I stole a french fry from my niece earlier tonight, to demonstrate exactly how much of what she makes gets taken away in taxes. When I was done, I bit off 8% more of what was left for sales tax. What was left over, I sliced in half to represent the nightmare and hidden tax of inflation. She's a good kid. I just wanted to steal the french fry.
and when did you first see co2??-greta well my dad said pull my finger and thats when i saw it i smelt it to and after mommy makes beans i can some times even taste it. it taste bad
She was questioned as an adult and she defended herself as an adult. I kind of appreciate the republican for engaging with her in such a respectful and intellectual way. They didn't name call or insult each other. It was a respectful exchange of ideas. I liked it
Anyone that hears her speech in which she said she wanted people to panic and took it to mean that she literally wants people to run in circles with their hands in the air whilst screaming at the top of their lungs is an idiot. She was clearly speaking in hyperbole, using a metaphor as she put it, to underscore that the climate crisis is just that, a crisis that requires the world to take emergency action.
Taking real action would be cleaning up the garbage in your own neighborhood first. If you live in a city, go outside and take 100 steps, then come back and tell me how many masks you find on the ground 😂 🤮
to be fair, in china for example Shenzhen (12.5M people), Has 16,000 Electric Buses And 22,000 Electric Taxis. for comparison sake New York (8.5M people 2019 number) has overall 5,800 internal combustion engine buses. the plan is to replace all of them within a 15 year period (until 2035).... in china they built the busses and then they replaced the old fleet.. the latest data i can find , there are only 650 electric buses in the whole US.. let that sink in...
electricity doesn't come from nowhere. The power out of your outlets come from somewhere. Either nuclear, hydro, or just plain burning coal or natural gas. And let's not forget, while you might not have to dig the ground for petroleum anymore, you're going to dig the ground for rare metals for the batteries on EV's. The process of mining and processing those metals are not any cleaner than oil.
Her answer on India is horseshit. The Indians are more than intelligent enough, and their country wealthy enough, to commence ramping up to different forms of energy production without the west martyring itself.
I am afraid, India has good intentions, that's why it is investing in clean renewable energy. But, good intentions don't get the job done, money gets the job done, which India is lacking. Without help, India won't be able to fulfill its promises, doesn't matter they try or not!
The problem is not Greta's hyperbole, but the fact that she is being so much importance by the press, which makes a developing, fairly green child the international thought leader of the green movement.
He was abrasive, but at least she had the chance to clarify some things. Why her? because she's a global leader. because the world doesn't belong exclusively to older people. And because the future doesn't belong to older people at all.
Admits to not reading any scientific reports as the basis for her call to panic. Can't give ANY (forget reasonable, attainable, etc.) target for a CO2 threshold supposedly because there's no magic number. Says that leading by example will cause a snowball effect of everyone else following (magic!) while claiming that it's not realistic to expect China to cooperate and that all everyone can do is exert some sort of pressure (peer pressure?) and hope for the best. Not that I disagree with everything she says but I'd rather we spend more time talking to actual experts. And the title is not one-sided, those are pretty deep questions for an 18-year old - hence the term "grill". It doesn't take one side or the other, just objectively descriptive of what's happening.
Who is this guy? Why is he asking her questions like she's a climate scientist? I mean, it's not like he would listen to an actual climate scientist, but still
the solution to all energy issues is gen 4 nuclear fission, molten salt reactors are the solution, the quicker they are built the quicker this problem will be solved.
