Thanks for the info! That's definitely a downside. Are you still using this lens? Would you say that is a very common thing to happen? Shooting towards the light you can get some really beautiful shots of sea life or water movements so kind of a bummer if there is always a reflection. Really been debating getting this lens but that might be the reason not to.
@dinnersat630 yeah actually wide angle lens overall have high chance of reflection when shooting into the light. It’s only a certain angle and you need to be aware that’s all! Yeah I still use this since form factor of GoPro is still the same so far!
@@ToasterVentura Thanks! This uwl 03 lens is interesting I've really been watching a bunch of videos trying to see how much of a difference it really makes and if it's worth it. Really hard to say. I love just keeping it simple and shooting whatever I feel like. I would hate to come home and see a bunch of shots messed up cause of a lens reflection. Trying to free my mind in the ocean not worry about whether I'm in the wrong angle haha.
@dinnersat630 ok reality is you have one more thing to worry about when diving especially worry about scratching the lens. I always have the cover on unless I am in the water and the lens cover will float around and I secure it with a Velcro. You will also need to make sure you flood the lens as the water between the back of the glass and front of your GoPro becomes part of the optics. I forgot to do that a couple times and you will see air bubbles in your image. Image quality I think it’s worth it as you do lose a ton of field of view due to refraction under water but the result is worth it! You can get much closer to an object and wide angle view is the same without having to go to ultra wide lens mode in camera which cause mad distortion.
