If you enjoy you're fishing ,and are quite happy catching doggies on light gear ,then why not. After all how many of us have fished some god forsaken beach in the middle of January at some unearthly time in the morning freeing our nuts off for sod all ,and have returned home to she who must be obeyed and lying through our teeth say that we've had a lovely time ,while you can see a huge grin on there faces while they secretly take the p*ss out of us. So thinking about it ????? Long live dogfish fishermen.

It's only a guess, but, there are a lot of rocky marks around these areas and the rocks are black stone. Thanks for watching. More videos to come. 🎣

Can dogfish burn you I heard that apparently they rap around your arm and twist and when they twist they give you friction burn
@connoroleary8226
@connoroleary8226 9 лет назад
Yes! But when handling the fish bring the tail to the head and hold them both so they can't wrap around your arm

Anyone could help me out, do dogfish bite in a salty river that goes out to sea? Or are they just in sea?
@ChasinFins
@ChasinFins 3 года назад
They are a saltwater species, I've never caught or seen dogfish caught in brackish water.

Nice video man! I was just curious if that's about average size for the dog sharks in Ireland? I'm from the United States, specifically washington state, and because dog shark is not fished commercially our shark get a lot bigger than what was shown. Tight lines man and have fun!

Thanks for this - I have just got into fishing, I live on the South Wales coast and we have a lot of Bristol Channel shoreline , I know from speaking to others that Dogfish (lesser spotted) are very common, to the point where anglers are fed up of catching them. I would be very happy if I caught anything so a nice sized dogfish would make my day! There's a shingle beach in my area that is really common for dogfish and the other fish they are all after is the Rays, which are also common there. I went for the first time yesterday, I bought a 3m beachcaster and reel for quite cheap, and we were fishing out on a rocky lighthouse pier called Jacksons Bay in Barry, had a good day but didn't catch anything, we wanted to use Ragworm but local angling shops didnt have any so we got some mackerel and squid instead - first cast in and my mate drops the knife right down into the rocks.....it wasn't a pretty experience from there on trying to cut bait with a pair of pliers! but I learnt a lot and will be much more prepared next time. Anyway watching your video and seeing you catch a few gave me a bit of hope, i can' t wait to get back out there now!

Enjoyable video. Surprises me how simple rigs etc produce the goods on so many occasions. I try and keep things simple when I fish and only really use my own tied rigs. Many thanks for the video.

@ChasinFins
@ChasinFins 10 лет назад
Hi Harper, you will probably need a heavier lead to get you down in deep water and hold against the under current. Also use a boom to stop hook link from tangling as you are fishing in a vertical position. example here: www.gofishing.co.uk/upload/27331/images/opi/rig.jpg Thanks for watching and tight lines matey.

@ChasinFins
@ChasinFins 8 лет назад
Stuartyh7 when you take right after the garage stay on that road down to bottom and it goes round to right with dead end. Then walk down the path under rail arch and walk to right and after 5 min walk you'll see the steps.
