Poto beat stewart straight up and was pulling away from him the whole race on a rutted track. outdoors is where poto will kick ass even more in my opinion.
I'm guessing you haven't heard that Villopoto isn't racing the Nationals. The leading rumor is that he's getting his knee fixed and will race Supercross next year, the other rumor is that he's actually going to just retire altogether. Steve Matthes from Racer X said he's 99.9% sure RV isn't racing outdoors.
Villopoto is a beast but nobody needs you to perpetuate the RV vs JS hate cycle. Both are amazing racers and both put their stamp on the sport. Neither of them will be forgotten.
ONESE7ENTEEN I know your comment is old but I doubt he will retire before 2015 is over. He will attempt the 5 consecutive Supercross title feat, then go for another outdoor national. After that its up to Ryan to decide whether he has it in him to keep racing or go out on top like the GOAT.
He took that cased landing like a Champ.. Even tho it looked painful, I'm sure the camera doesn't do justice to how hard that impact was. it's a good reminder that the Good riders aren't just born good. they work hard and take their lumps just like all the rest of us. Even on the biggest stages it can still happen. just gotta keep at it.
Also shows the difference between a Factory bike and a consumer stock OEM 450. My shocks would have busted, rims would have bent, Several broken spokes and my frame would have broke into 2 or more pieces. Then south flight to the nearest trauma center to deal with all the bones broken. After 9 months in the hospital we can start thinking about all the dental work needed to replace all the teeth that are still stuck inside the busted 99 dollar helmet i was wearing :) After all this maybe I could get back to just trail riding after the cast comes off my broken wrist ......
The way he takes the turn into the long whoop section is brilliant. He obviously has studied F1 and nascar turn patterns to create the most speed through the whoops. That is how he makes his pass on the first lap.
even though he didnt win, I think this is my favorite js7 race. So much adversity and he never gave up. He was clearly havin a off day but still gave his all. The ama race is even better they didnt show the endos before the finish line on the go pro.
Man if he could have kept getting that quad clean every lap, I wonder if you would have started tripling out? Would have been so fast and pull on everyone.
belive it or not, i think casing a decent jump in a BMX will be more painful than a MX bike, dirt bikes have over a foot of travel lol, they can take most of the hit.
He doesn't want to race outdoors because he could risk getting hurt for supercross 2015 is my opinion. Supercross pays out way more money than motocross and gets sponsors more spotlight. Maybe he does have to get his knee fixed. Who knows. I have not heard him say any anything about outdoor testing in any recent interviews.
