Ray, thank you for sharing your takeaways on HERO12 Black. We also would like to add a quick clarification-while HERO12 and HERO11 Black have the same Enduro Battery, we’ve optimized our imaging pipeline + redesigned the camera software from the ground up so that HERO12 delivers 2x longer continuous runtimes before reaching thermal limits, when compared with HERO11 Black.🙌
I was cheering for the GoPro 12, I really wanted one, but after seeing all the reviews of how much it hasnt improved and the sides by sides next to the action 4 or the Insta 360 ace pro, im leaving go pro behind. Please make 13 better.
@@DaddisHouse I got the 12 in the end after unexpectedly smashing my GoPro 8. I was very close to getting the dji 4 but ended up sticking with GoPro. They all have their pros and cons and provide similar results. The GoPro 12 does the job, it’s not amazing but I’m happy with it. Just don’t buy it for Bluetooth audio. It sucks.
@@BigfootRunning I get that, Im the same with Samsung. I stick with what I know. And you are correct, they all have their pros and cons. But for me, the low light and the fact they really didnt improve much over the 11 vs others, I thought I would change it up. I got the DJI action 4 and watching all the reviews of the Insta Ace Pro, Ill be getting that one as well....... and since Im am a junkie for these things, Ill probably get the the 12, the next Akaso (I have the the brave 8, its a great one). Also, SJCam is coming out with a Dual Camera action cam which Im really wondering about.
Biggest reason not to upgrade is the gps is gone on the 12. A cheap way to increase runtimes without actually improving anything. I find it really usefull to overlay the speed, altitude and such things onto the gopro footage and really nothing about the 12 is worth upgrading for. The "2x longer runtimes" is only for 5k which i hardly use and for 1080 or 1440 its only a 20% increase or so (probably due to lack of gps). The video and audio quality change is also barely noticable.
One year later the price difference for the H 11 was a big point for me for no more differences in the two cameras . And the Hero 11 Black was a big step up from my Hero 7 White though the H7W has served me well for many years and still does . Great comparison video and helped me be happy I saved money with the H11B . Have a blessed day .
GoPro makes weird claims. 2x battery life... the hero 12 has 15% more battery by the time the hero 11 dies. That doesn't sound like 2x battery life to me.
I have the GoPro 10 and the GoPro 11 , I received the GoPro 12 yesterday took out for one Flight . The picture quality is absolutely not worth the loss of GPS for anyone that’s into motor sports . I already boxed it up and sending back to GoPro for another GoPro 11
What your getting is a Go Pro 11 with a number 12 stuck on it, they have updated the firmware added some software and that is it, but there is another downside, i don't know why but the video quality in 5.3k 60fps seems worse on the GP 12 than the GP 11 it could have something to do with the firmware and software so i would class the GP 12 as a downgrade.
Did you have a chance to test it out in high temperatures. I do a lot of car recording and have been having tons of issue with gopro 7 and gopro 11 overheating and shutting down.
I have a Hero9 Black, and I was going to get a new 11 on sale at Costco. I record video bicycle rides about 1-2 hours in length. Do you think I will have overheating issues? This is a dealbreaker. Or should I just jump to the 12? The Bundle at Costco makes it appealing.
Me: I still have the gopro hero 7 and I can say it freezes everytime I open my gallery now so... But everything else still works amazingly. Now 20 years old and yeah no new gopro's for me especially after removing gps which the 13 brought back and what do you know? It's runtime has lowered although you can just turn it off.
Thanks for the feedback . Glad people like you are out there when looking at a new purchase. It helps in researching. Getting the gopro 12 this weekend
Great info here. LIKED. Now only if GoPro brings out that exceptional deal that I can't refuse and can justify my purchase to others, I'm willing to upgrade into 12. If not, I'm happy with whatever I have and instead look more seriously into Insta360 for things it can do and no GoPro classic line can. Then I've heard a lot goodies about DJI Osmo pocket 3 but way out of my budget. Lastly DJI action 3 is said to be superior to GoPro hero without several short comings including unreliability of GoPro, heating issues, better stabilization, etc. So for a good deal of BF, that might as be my target. Well lets see with Black Friday really has for me coz I've lost hope in ole Santa that seems to forgotten me!
ok.... I love thsi video but i need to know if you filmed the videos in 5.3K for half an hour or longer. I also am wondering what is the MaH battery life. I also am planning on getting the Hero 12 black soon in the future but until the price drops a bit. I think the 5.3K quality on the Hero 12 black is going to be great. I have the 11 black currently and i am having no overheating issues with it unless i am outside. What do you think about the Hero 12? is it worth the upgrade just for the HDR and the Bluetooth features plus 2x longer battery life?
I didn't have my cameras recording for half an hour straight. My overheating test was leaving them on in the sun for half an hour (I needed to save battery life to film for the video). Personally I like the Hero 12. Video quality is really nice and battery life is noticeable better. It's hard to say whether or not you should upgrade; it all depends on your preference. If you plan on recording a lot the Hero 12's battery life might make it worth it, and if you want the BEST video possible then I'd go with the 12. But if none of those features jump out at you I'd stick with the 11. Besides for those features the cameras are petty identical.
Hello Nabeel Bhai one of your very old subscribers. I want to ask about which go pro should I buy 12 or 11 or 10 in this upcoming sale. I make cricket videos please help me to find which is better
You didn't miss anything by not pairing AirPods to your GoPro. The audio on the AirPods isn't even good on the iPhone. It would definitely be usable if the GoPro was mounted outside a moving car but the quality wouldn't be good. I think a best use case for that would be to use the AirPod GoPro audio as a scratch track to sync to a better microphone recording your audio inside the vehicle. There are a few Bluetooth headsets that would give you potentially at least somewhat better audio than the AirPods.
It was a good review, thank you. I was going to get the Hero 11 but the Hero 12 footage and image quality was a bit superior so I'll go for that instead.
I was planning to buy the Hero 12 as my first gopro, but when i heared that they removed the GPS i think i am going for the hero 11. Pretty sad bcs i was waiting for the hero 12 for a long time but i am planning to use the gopro for karting races and the GPS seems like a nice feature to have with that.
@@BigfootRunningyea but pretty weird way to improve it in my opinion. It’s like the same if iPhone removes 4 k video so the video file size is smaller. It should have stayed an option
How is it having gps provides much benefit in a movie, whether karting or some other activity. What data, other than location at a given point in the film, would GPS provide? Will it show our kart's top speed? It's acceleration rate? Are there 3rd party apps that can extract the data an do something useful with it? I'm sure there must be some use, I just can't figure out what it might be.
@@heric.4428 What sorts of "telemetric data" other than longitude, latitude and elevation does this integrated GPS provide in the video, and how is this metadata encoded?
The camera comparison did help, mostly regarding HDR. I don't know your channel, but I sure hope you're spending more of your time in front of the camera than in back of it, because your movie-star good looks belong on the screen, not as a voice-over.
ngl I feel like a minor touch of proper editing on the 11 on the quick app, you can get that crazy HDR appearance for those of you who want to save money on gp. Just my opinion. what do you all think???
That's understandable. Battery life and HDR video are basically the only BIG upgrades the Hero 12 has, so if those stand out to you then I would get the 12
@@phanna565 Hey bro In india gp11 selling at 27k And gp 12 at 34k Which should I buy Cause diff is big And i will shoot only my own shoot some treak some chill things
So far I like the Hero 12. If you're happy with the 11 and don't want to spend $399 then I would stick with it, but if you think the new features on the 12 will make a big difference I would upgrade
@@laperousse2138 make sure the camera is off when you’re not recording. This will save battery life even more and prevent overheating as much as possible. And try not to keep it in the sun for long periods of time (if possible)
