GoPro Hero 6 Black VS Xiaomi Mijia 4k! 4k Action Camera Battle! 

How come in my pc the sound coming from audio xiaomi mijia 4k is better then gopro6. I can hear a more solid sound from xiaomi and gopro not so clear. Maybe pc settings?

For some reason it seems the GoPro didn't sound as good as far as audio in that test.

Has anybody invented a solution for the slight popping/crackling for the audio of the Mijia? Just like he said the audio gain is a little bit too high and at 6:50 when he starts to tell about it you can hear random low volume crackling. And he ain't even that close to the camera.

How long does the battery last in the Xiaomi?? I want this camera today and can't find it. I also agree about the 6OFPS Being the best setting.

I do not know anything abut the Mijia camera, but maybe it has an Audio Gain setting? I own an ActiveOn camera, and its factory setting is 100% audio gain. When you first hear the audio, it sounds terrible, too much background noise. However, you can manually turn down the audio gain, and at around 90%, it sounds decent, problem fixed. By the way, I always leave my action cam at 1080p, 60fps. I find its the best setting for most uses. But when I record my cat sleeping, I find a lower frame rate works equally as well.

Interesting to see the truck that you have done in the night shoot.... In go pro you have used the light to be better, and with mijia witouth light ....

Great comparison. I have a theory on the audio..... The gopro probably has a membrane sealing the mic opening and toning it down. If you put the mijia in the waterproof case (that should be included), I'd bet a shiny penny the level will drop and you'll lose the crazy volume. It's too bad the mijia peaks like that, on my end it was a easier to hear you in the studio. The sound from it must be TERRIBLE when you're actually capturing an activity. Do action cams in general have any manual audio controls for levels?

Nice review.. M using a Mijia 4k(ordered from AliExpress at around $125) . Including few accessories it's $135-$150. About gopro hero 6 ( around $450-$550) in India.. You forgot to review the battery life (which is Very Good in Mijia 4k but avg. in go pro) , and its a shame in spending a fortune still getting a avg battery back up.. Also after a bit continous use mijia heats up a lil bit (dunno about go pro) but still fine to use. Slow motion in mijia is ok but in go pro is good( have seen some youtube videos). . If I am spending such a huge amount just fr the sake of 1.30 hrs of action, then trust me I would rather sell my old Canon n buy another one which is better then go pro in most aspects. For this price Mijia is a steal and go pro is only for those who r ready to Shell out gold coins for few extra upgrade.....hahaha.....cheers.

I like the gopro for still stuff strangely enough, on the 5 and up the still photo’s are a lot better and you can shoot in raw , fringing and noise seem to be better handled

Low light and sound was better on the xiamoi. Not sure why you said the opposite. Anyway the outdoor quality and smoothness goes to the gopro for sure. What about battery life? nothing was mentioned about it. Also what size memory is accepted by both? A lot of the important specs and options were not mentioned. Could do a better work on this. You sure the GoPro is double the price? 399 compared to 139. That's triple the price.. mijia is actually 699rmb in china, that's about 104usd. Can roughly buy 4 mijia to a GoPro..

Hey you have mistakenly said Xiaomi audio quality is bad instead of Gopro

In your videos, the music and effects have almost the double volume of your voice, it´s unpleasant to keep changing volume all the time to adapt to your videos when watching on a good studio sound system.

Lets not forget about the 1&1/2 battery life of the mijia and add $100 you get the mijia 4k gimbal whivh extends the battery use for 5hrs total. Plus, that gopro audio and exposure was crap to be honest.

If a good soul read this and maybe know why my Mijia doesn't have the EIS setting like shown in this video, please respond!

Idk if it's just me, but sometimes I feel like stabilization is too much... You watch footage of some 'action' but it feels like floating in space, it doesn't feel like anything's happening... It's good when u walk, but watching biking and horse riding vids makes me wish it would allow some wobbling

2020 and I'm watching this for my next action cam.. Older Action cam still holding up well even in 2020..

Cool video, but I'm not even considering the Hero 6 at that $400 price tag to be honest lol and the Mijia 4K seems like a lesser version of the Yi line at more cost :/ But What would you say about the Hero 5 black vs Yi Lite vs Yi-4k? I need to replace 1 of my broken SJ4000 action cameras...and if it's good, I may upgrade my other 2 I've been using 1 canon g7x & 3 sjcam4000's for like 3 years now mounted on a Samson MK-10 boom mic using their frame mount + a 1/4 male to female thread - And most of them still work fine (though one of em may be a fake, idk lol) BUT, one of the SJ4000's gave out on me a week ago.. I think I've narrowed it down to these, but if you know something else that would fit my needs better Please let me know. Cuz if the one I get is way better than my Sjcam's then I might get 2 more in the future to have matching video quality all around. Good options I know of: GoPro Hero 5 Black refurbished = $220 Yi Lite = $100 Yi-4K (not 4K+) = $150 from their website/amazon These will be for RU-vid drum videos, SO... 1. I don't really need stabilization (unless it will help with #6) 2. I don't need great audio (I get that edited) 3. Great vid quality in 1080p 30fps, 60fps Max (if I feel like it would look cool to use 60fps) 4. VERY Important - Great in "low-light" situations (filming in a pitch black living room without room lights on, using 2 neewer 176 led lights pointed on me & drums) & I have black backdrops on my walls. 5. Adjustable ISO, Exposure, White Balance, etc 6. I've noticed my bass drum does cause the video to shake with my Canon G7X (1st one, not mark 2), but that could just be because it's heavy while attached to my boom stand. 7. Durable (I drop shit sometimes lol) 8. Decent battery life *I do like that the GoPro Hero 5 Black has Linear mode (cuz fish eye looks weird on drums), but didn't know till recently that Yi-4k has basically the same thing called Lens Distortion Correction! **I also use Screenflow 7 (if that makes a difference with those cameras above) Thoughts? 🤔🤔 I'd Love to hear your opinion on this! I don't understand. The indoor shot was way better for the Mijia as well as the sound. The Gopro sounded crap and the image was yellow tinted and overexposed. The Mijia even looked almost the same as the image from the pro camera - so I don't understand the comments on that. It also hasn't been clear whether the Xiaomi stabilization works on 4k or not. If not, comparison is pointless.

I use mijia4k, and it is better if you have also the mijia gimbal specific for the camera and stabilization is good! Nice vid! Check some of my video that was shot with mijia and gimbal! Cheers

Concerning video quality (colours) here (indoor) both cameras doesn't look good, but mija looks much better...

the Xiaomi is wayyyy ahead with the audio, the gopro was like speaking inside a rubber bucket while your mouth is stuffed with toilet paper :D (computer speakers)

Dude, the audio on the Mijia was way better... I mean, I get that you had issues before but when editing this video you should had noticed the difference in audio quality and retract what you said about the Mijia. In fact, the GoPro sounded like crap... And also, that indoor video quality from the Mijia is also way better than the GoPro, except for the field of view. The Mijia is the winner.

The only situation I can think of where a frame case(like the GoPro) is a bit better than the 1/4" thread mount is if you have to change batteries mid-recording without affecting the camera angle at allllll. You can just gently pop it out of the case and it'll be in the same exact spot after you swap batteries. But other than that...yeah, 1/4" mount all day 👌

So I don't know where you came with the idea that's "pretty bad" only if it is action, because in the tests is better clearly.
