Why no 4k or 1080 tests? 5k is a very niche specialist thing which I think is just an option for the sake of an upgrade. 4k is the real test of the camera, I wonder if the front screen was choppy because of the 5k recording.

Uploading a GoPro vs Insta360 comparison at 4k24 right now. 4k definitely helped the front screen of the GoPro!

I currently have the Hero 3 black edition - do you think this would be a good upgrade to record my horse riding (helmet camera), I record in 1080p60 currently

It would be a great upgrade, but really, anything from the Hero 7 up would be great. The video quality got much better, and the stabilization is amazing

I didn’t order one. The early reviews I saw didn’t sound favorable, and it didn’t seem like enough of an upgrade to justify the price

This info was helpful. The device seems disappointing to me. The only good thing seems to be the bigger battery and the screen navigation. The rest.... I expected much more from the 5k sensor and modern electronics. The results from the Sony sensor make a much better impression. Sony sound also superior to GoPro. Would be interesting to see a side by side comparison....
