Please, confirm my understanding of Corm Farming. #1. The 3 corn farming products are a. chopped silage for animal feed, b. ear corn (both husked for animal feed and unhusked for human food), and c. shelled corn for both animal and human consumption. #2. While in New England and elsewhere, where field sizes are small and old fashion corn choppers are still the rule, a combine is used to harvest both chopped silage and shelled corn and husked ear corn. If this is correct, how is unhusked ear corn, corn on the cob, for human food harvested? Is that done All Manually? Where does Corl Oil for human use come out of the process? Thanks, A Curious New Englander, SDH
Corn you eat for food is sweet corn. That is a totally different brand of corn. This field corn is for animal consumption and some does go into cereal, flour etc
