Hey! Really great video and tips! We do a lot of underwater videography and photography at our dive shop in Key Largo and found your video very useful. Thanks for sharing! :)
hello, I have the GoPro 10, is it compatible, the link seems to say that it stops at the Gopro 8. Do you have a new model for the GoPro 9 and 10 case? Thank you
Thank you for the great video. This was a help for me. I use a GoPro 5. My Sidekick lights flooded. I will look for something more reliable. I am using the Backscatter +15 Macro. I am not familiar with the Switchblade Macro lens.
Dear PolarPro Team, I am interested in the exact minimum focus distance of the Switchblade7 underwater. Is it 5 inches as you mentioned below or is it 3 that Jeff said in the video. I would much appreciate your answer. Best, Peter
Hey, Peter! We apologize for any confusion this may have caused, but the minimum focus distance is 5 inches. We have found this through the multiple tests our engineering team has done. If you would like further insight on this, feel free to reach out to our support team who is happy to field any further questions: support@polarpro.com
I have a new GoPro 8 with dive case and I'm looking for filters and macro lens. What's the best solution someone can help? Does this work with GoPro 8?
We have underwater and macro filters for Hero 8. You can shop them here: www.polarprofilters.com/collections/hero8-filters-and-accessories/gopro-filters-h8 Feel free to reach out if we can answer any questions about which filters would work best for your workflow (:
Hi there! Great video, thanks for sharing. May I have a question regarding to the closest focusing distance underwater? The reason I am asking this that I have the simple PolarPro Macro Lens (SKU: H5B-1007) on my GoPro 7 black and I am experiencing 8-inces closest focusing distance underwater instead of the 5 in the official specs. I guess that is measured in dry conditions and not underwater. Do you have any exact measurement what was the closest focusing distance underwater. For me it is quite important know it as I am filming smaller water creatures and 3 inches difference means a lot. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Peter
Hey Peter, we have found that we can go up to 5-inches while remaining in focus. We would love to help resolve this issue though, please reach out to our support team: support@polarpro.com and include some well lit images with both the filter on and off that display the issue at hand. We are more than happy to help with this!
@@PolarProFilters Thanks for the reply. I've wrote to the support team and hope we can sort it out. By the way the 5 inches that you mentioned above is the answer to my question regarding to the Switchblade7 focus distance? Just asking it as in the video Jeff said: focus distance 3-6 inches underwater.
Dear PolarPro Team, I am still interested in the exact minimum focus distance of the Switchblade7 underwater. Is it 5 inches as you mentioned above or is it 3 that Jeff said in the video. I would much appreciate your answer.
Based on your experience, does Polarpro switchblade 7 gets rust? Did you encounter any problem switching from one filter to another or using filter only then combination of filter and lens?
Hey, Ivy! The metallic parts of the Switchblade7 can rust if they are not rinsed off after use in or near saltwater. We recommend always rinsing the Switchblade thoroughly in tap water after use. As long as it's rinsed and stored properly (meaning inside the case while dry) we would not expect any rust to occur. Switching between the filters, or shooting without a filter, all works very well, but if you have any further questions feel free to reach out to us at support@polarpro.com
Thank you so much for this reply. This is the second reply I got with this question. The first one came from Mr. Brent Durand. As I have mentioned on my reply to him, I am now decided to buy the switchblade 7 for my data gathering. Let us see how the Mangyan (indigenous people) students in Occidental Mindoro, Philippines will tell their story using this gear with the Go Pro Hero 7.
You can preorder it now on our website, and it is expected to ship on December 1st. (: Pre-order here: www.polarprofilters.com/collections/hero8-filters-and-accessories/products/hero8-switchblade
Hey Miguel! There is a lock-in mechanism on the macro lens hinge on the Switchblade7, which you will feel the lens click into when it is secured. As a result, you will not have a problem with the macro lens moving at all, when it is underwater.🤙
Came for the info, stayed for the fish. Epic video really beautiful visuals. If you get a chance to check out our new photography channel I'd be mega appreciated. We've only just started up but any tips would be really welcomed. Hope to catch up with you again soon - have a great weekend.
