im not really good at volleyball but its about timing…and depends on the setter too…if the setter give you a short ball…then don’t take steps i guess…if its a high ball…you have to quickly take steps and jump bcuz somehow the ball falls like damn fast…its just my experienced playing volleyball with my friends…sorry if my english is not that good…english is not my main language
When you are in the front row blocking is key for the middle. Make sure you have the hand and wrist snap motions down so you can block the ball straight down (be careful not to jam your fingers though). Also you need to be able to quickly transition over to the left or right to help others block. If you are backrow, and not swapped out by the libero, receiving serves and spikes are key. A lot of people aim for the middle (at least in middle and high school).
Hey nokkun i want some advice on setting 5 i really struggle with back sets i dunno why but i cant seem to throw the ball parallel to the net i always seem to go over the net just a bit or only throw it at the back of my head lmao. Anyways i really like the video! Keep it up :)
There are 2 possible option why you can't set parallel to net, you are probably not parallel with net with your shoulder or you set stronger with your left hand what causes ball to go over the net. The most important thing in setting back is to use your knees and extend your arms fully and try to visualize where the ball should go that will help you to keep better control of the ball in all kind of sets. I hope you understand my bad English ;d keep practicing!!
@@harshshankwar4790 DevilXardas's explanation is really good, also the more you practice the more you can visualize the court and where you position the ball. After a while it all becomes muscle memory and you can basically set blindfolded. Just focus on keeping your shoulders squared to where you are setting (even if it is behind you) then if your hands are above your head and you push straight behind it, it won't go too close to the net.
@@NokkunVolleyball its me after playing a crap ton of games everyday since then and ive really improved at setting now. I can set back short every ball confidently thnx for the help!
