How fun to see this type show in Russian and with figure skating. I don’t speak Russian, but didn’t need to to enjoy this. Sounds like he got lots of advice. Katia has always done so well expressing herself in English, but I loved seeing her speak in her beloved Russian language. ♥️

I want to apologize to you for 2 things in advance-1st.I cant understand many comments as I speak no Russian.2nd.Many of the comments that I CAN READ,and have,which are in English, at completely inappropriate-and it would not have taken much,to clear up any confusion which may be the reason for the ridiculously stupid comments written by those who HAVE posted things in English. It would have taken very little effort for Americans to do even just a minute or two of research to discover that the footage you have posted here,is from a Russian t.v. program, filmed in the fall of 2009, called "Ice Age 2".Basically,it's Russia's version of "Dancing With the Stars", on ice skates.THAT'S IT. It paired professional figure skaters with NON SKATERS. Having noted that much alone,I'd sure hope would immediately clear up most of the comments people have posted. Katia Goordeeva was paired with an extremely famous(and also, arguably one of Russia's most handsome, popular and sexy male actors-no matter WHAT language one speaks...the eyes don't lie!). The Russian individual who posted the video titled it "Love Story"...however,I believe it is more than a little important to know, that certainly, both Goordeeva and Boreov made a great looking "couple", this is and was NOT THE CASE,and WAS NOT a true LOVE STORY as American's would define it.First of all, any "sparks" or "sexual chemistry"between the two, while there probably would have had to have been "something", folks MUST realize-Goordeeva was MARRIED at the time she participated on this show! After Sergei Grinkov's death in 1995, Goordeeva wrote in her book, "My Sergei"(which was later a t.v. movie),that "The years I spent with my Sergei were the best of my life...(even though she was widowed at only age 24),"anything I do,or anyone I meet,for the rest of my life will never compare to the love I had with my Sergei...our hearts beat as one...when his heart stopped and he died, my heart died too, and no matter what I do after his death, I will never what I had before. My life will never be as wonderful, and I will never love anyone or be loved by anyone the way it was with Sergei.The rest of my life can never be anything as great as what it was or what we had.Now,I live for our daughter Daria,and I will tell her about her father,and what the story of Grinkov and Goordeeva was. I used to skate with Sergei and we skated with love.Now,I skate because it is a job." Goordeeva returned to the ice,and in 1998 was introduced and paired with fellow Russian Olympic Gold Medal winner, 1998 solo men's skater Ilia Kulik. Goordeeva and Kulik DID develop a relationship, and in 2001 Katia gave birth to Kulik's only daughter, "Liza". But Goordeeva had DARIA GRINKOV, Sergei Grinkov's only heir, and in my opinion, appeared to keep true to those famous words and claim she'd actually written, words uttered by her nearly 3years after becoming a widow at just 24yrs. old. The Kulik's skated for a short time as a family,however, Katia then paired with DAUGHTER GRINKOV. When Daria gave up skating in 2007 to pursue her education, Goordeeva continued to skate-for a brief time still paired with with Kulik,but then, with others. This video,and all footage of her skating with ACTOR Beroev,again, a brilliant actor in his own right, was still a man who'd never skated! he was tall, dark, handsome and most of all-he was Russian...seemingly a perfect match for the young widowed Katia. However...Ilia Kulik and she had been married nearly 7 years and had an 8 year old daughter of THEIR OWN. To compare Boreov with Grinkov is beyond ludicrous! The ONLY thing both had in common, and actually shared was their nationality, charm and good looks. In THAT WAY, yes, Boreov may have been the perfect contender for Katia.But again-she had married Kulik...gave birth to their daughter, committed herself to Ilia as HIS WIFE. Boreov went on to marry a beautiful Russian model, and as of the writing of this post,is reportedly still happily wed with one daughter as well, since 2001( 3yrs AFTER meeting, competing with and ultimately winning Ice Age 2 with Goordeeva in 1999).In the years that followed, Katia competed in a similar t.v. competition show-"Ice Wars", pairing figure skaters with Professional Hockey players.She was paired with Valeri Bure(who was and remains Candace Cameron-Bure's husband of over 2 decades, and speculation and rumors flew around both Bure and Katia then, as well). Kulik raised both girls as his own, while Gordeeva continued touring and joining many skating related entertainment programs and shows. In 2012, Kulik accomplished his lifelong dream-opening a family Skating Rink in CA-"Kullik's family Skating". Unfortunately, after just 2 years, his business failed and the rinks doors were closed. After Daria "retired", Katia DID skate with daughter Liza as well as Kulik...in fact, Daria even joined in for 3 separate "Stars on Ice/Family" shows...however, Ilia, Katia and Liza skated their final joint family program in 2014.. In 2016. Ilia last skated solo in the "Legends on Ice Program".Thankful" by Josh Grobin. Goordeeva skated in 2017 with Olympic Gold medalist David Pelleteir to "Photograph". Over the past year, Kulik has been observed traveling and standing behing 15yr old daughter Liza-who in 2017, was ranked 2nd overall in the Nationals U.S. Figure Skating Nationals. her ranking dropped after several difficult and poor performances-HOWEVER,Ilia was right there with his clearly devastated little girl,even as her scores were read.Katia is nowhere to be seen in any of the footage I've been able to locate.In February 2018, a Special Edition of Sports Illustrated confirmed that Goordeeva and Kulik had divorced in 2015. Surprising? Hardly. Ekaterina Goordeeva Grinkov SAID IT HERSELF.After Sergei, there "could be no one else". Ilia Kulik was doomed from the start, and any other male pairs who might skate in the future with the Queen of the Ice Goordeeva, will likely never be able to overcome the black shadow established by Katia herself,a decision spoken in her own words."There can be no other Sergei Grinkov", and in that..she is correct. However, for Goordeeeva to never find love again? That's one decision only SHE HERSELF CAN, and undoubtedly will, one day, make.
Thank you for this post! The Canadian program she skated in was called Battle of the Blades, and I loved the pairing with Val. I think the person that posted this called it "Love Story," because the song is the theme for the movie "Love Story," a 70's movie that was very famous. I do believe that the Ilia/Katia marriage was not going to last, sad to say. I do believe Ilia was the one with Liza because, at the time, I believe, Katia was traveling for different skating commitments. They still have their ice rink, and I think that is what ultimately ended it for them. I saw an interview, and she did not look pleased with the idea of the ice rink, stating that it "had been my husbands idea and dream."

Thankfully-you just validated what I was trying to sayand was,in fact, exactly what Goordeeva said HERSELF!...Katia said it HERSELF,in he book/movei. "My Sergei" She said "Those years I spent with Sergeir, I wish I could goo back in time...." and "I know that whatever I do in the future, and whever I might meet,it will never compare wity what I had with Sergei-no one CAN ever replace him".She was 24yrs old when Sergei died-to make a decidsionand statement like THAT...while the ussian press I'm sure would have loved to see her "hook up"with Beroev, she was married at the time, and although Beroev LEGALLY was to his wife(and according to reports,he still is")other reports claimed he'd split.Same rumors flew at the time, about Gordeeva. I watched hundreds of hours of footage, from when Grinkov was 1st paired w Goordeeva, and yes, I too wished he'd survived.Again howevwr, Katia was 24years old when Sergei passed away in 1995.She did Ice Age 2 in 2009-14yrs AFTER Grinkov had died. I have actually seen Kulik in only one or two of the Ice Age 2 practices...so he literally was "in the picture, but I'm sure there was no one denying the incredible similarities between Grinkov and Berdoev especially.Watch every single routine the pair did together...and then try to DENY that there wasn't an intentional thought in every single choreographed routine,to add at least some level of "chemistry".NOT ONE VIDEO FAILED IN THIS EFFORT..and while I get it...the goal was to see them win,it was also -IN MY OPINION-just one more way to drive the wedge deeper...and in both couples already shakey marriages. My last "proof"...?Check out Kulik and Goodreeva's daughter;s, Elizaveeta's videos from 2017...especially her trials for Nationals and I believe a Canadian expedition.WHO IS RIGHT THERE BESIDE HER?Whois with her, as she leaves the rink ansd sits on the sidelines...waiting for her score...?ONE PERSON ONLY AND ALONE...Ilia Kulik.Gooreeva is absolutely NOWHERE to be found in any of Liza's competitions-only dad supporting his daughter.So glad I'm not the only one to have seen what did....and wish other viewers-(ahem, XX) wouldn't deny what was so blatantly and obviously being played out-both on screen and I'm quite sure-off, as well.Kulik and Goodeeva were destined to fail,because of the decision Katia had ALREADY made...at Segei's passing. Yes, I followed them from the beginning. Sergei died a month before my husband and I got married. It was so very sad. I have watched, actually, I bought the VHS of "My Sergei," and have watched it many times. I don't enough about this Russian actor, but you are absolutely right, he does have a resemblance with Sergei, and I am sure they tried to build a story there...one word.... ratings! Do you think there was something between them? They were both married at the time, at least she was.
Thank you so much for the clarification as well as the update on the marriage of Kulik and Goordeeva. I had often wondered whether they had been able to make the marriage succeed. Even though I had searched I was never able to come up with much information. It must have been difficult for Kulik to compete with the memory of Sergei.
I'm glad the Gossip TVClip was taken down as it was unfair to everyone involved. I Don't wish to have to be the one to defend Kulik's as a family, but they were together longer, as Liza was born in 2001. That means they were together 15 years before they divorced (married13). That was actually longer then Gordeeva and Grinkov were paired together. A Marriage is hard to hold together under normal circumstances then put two famous olympic champions professionals together, their marriage lasted longer then most. And they divorced quietly to spared their fans unhappiness. Every family that divorces has to work through hard life lessons. Just because your famous it doesn't make it easier.

He is awful compared to Sergei. See how fluid she is. Sergei used to highlight her but also match those fluid movements. This guy is sloppy in comparison. He's stiff, he's bent and his arms are clunky. Looks like his first time on the ice.

No, her partner in this show (called "Ice Age") was a russian actor Egor Beroev.. At that time Katya was still married to Olympic winner in Nagano Ilya Kulik..but the marriage was devorced 2015 or 2016...
Geri Collier He's not a figure skater. He's an actor. This is a competition like dancing with the stars where they pair professionals (skaters)with celebrities(non skaters).
