Cooking show with all ingredients prepared, everything laid out: "Look how easy it is! Why even order out?" Real people: 1. Drive to store, buy ingredients (30-60 minutes) 2. Wash and prep all ingredients, get everything out (10 minutes) 3. Follow steps of recipe, cook all food etc. (15-60 minutes) 4. Eat 5. Clean up, wash dishes etc (15-40 minutes) Yeah, there's a reason people order take away.

Unless there is another person cleaning and cutting up the chicken ready, washing the vegetables, peel the ginger and garlic, cutting all the vegetables, clean the pan afterwards ...then it will be 20 minutes. Prepping is the important component in cooking and it took longer than 20 minutes to get a good homecook food. All this cooking in less than 20 minutes or that one show with Jamie oliver cooking under 30 minutes is pure nonsense. As the prep was already done beforehand and it probably took at least 30 minutes to prep and clean. But it is possible, if we prep it earlier at the beginning of the week, and planned our menu for the whole week.

I mean technically you're right with "cooking", but in the end its 20 minutes without the prep/afterwork. And thats basically what is taking most of the time on the biggest part of hommade meals anyway...

This wasn’t realistic. All the ingredient’s where already in place. And the rice where already cooked too.

It's actually quite sad seeing people more than twice my age not knowing how to cook properly. I still wish for him to be inspired by that and to keep learning :D

That was fun. I always like to cook at home. I love the lo mein from the Chinese place down the road but I can make it at home a little cheaper and faster and it almost tastes the same. Getting better at it.
