RIP Mr. Lightfoot. Music won't be the same. 1938 to 2023, what a long time. He was going up until his departure. Truely amazing.

I have an old friend, u0 years old . Plays guitar for a community on Friday night. I encouraged him to learn a few well Known Gordon 's songs , from our roots in the 60,'s and early 70's. . He played them this past Friday, asHomage and Farewell to our Brilliant Singer , Gordon Lightfoot. He spoke about what the songs he played, meant to Gordon, and what he was going thought, as he wrote each song. He talked about his home town, and living in Toronto. I feel he took his songs and Bircon would have approved. May He Rest in Peace, knowing his Music, made our lives much better, because of his own ,ife History. 🕯🇨🇦☄🌠💔

This live performance is my favourite and I watched it when broadcast in 1999 . This is how Gordon sound for the next 23 years . He always a professional and Canadian National Treasure ! We all will miss you Gordon . It’s hard to think your gone . I saw Gordon in concert many times . The last concert was at The renovation and reopening of Massey Hall 2022 . R.I.P Mr Lightfoot 🤗❤️🇨🇦🎸

The first time I saw Gordon Lightfoot was in the late 70’s when a wonderful friend whom I had a huge crush on arranged for a group of us to go to Massey Hall. I knew of Gordon Lightfoot’s music since the early 70s when my Grade 7 teacher introduced us to it. I still sing Pussywillows, Cattails when I garden. The late 70s crush was not reciprocated but I have maintained my relationship with Mr. Lightfoot. An amazing songwriter, arranger and performer with one of the best bands ever. Thank you for the amazing music. Rest in peace❤️

Ruhe sanft, lieber Gordon!

I loved his song, " A Painter Passing Through" . For I am a painting conservator , passing through this life Historically. I felt as if these lyrics were written for people like us, the ones that keep the Old Masters Alive, and the Painters, ths I work with in my everyday life. For they make my work, look just as the artist intent. I Thank G-d, for Gordon Lightfoot, as he has been a Brilliant songwriter, since the early 60's . He only listened to Bob Dylan, back in the early days. This is what Gordon became today. Our Troubadour from Canada 🇨🇦⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🕯☄🌠🎖⚘💔❤🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

There are times when I am so proud to be Canadian. Our immense contributions in world wars, Korea, peace keeping, the Cabot Trail, the CFL, Montreal Canadiens, the Canadian Rockies etc.. I first stumbled on gordon lightfoot back in the late 90s when this video actually came out on much more music and 14 karat gold was the first ever lightfoot song that i heard! From thrn i became a lightfoot fan and while not a hardcore one anytime i hear any of his songs albeit when itd be for the first time it was like id known them for years. He along with other canadian treasures like bryan adams, tom cochrane, bnl, rush, and the barneaked ladies, bruce cockburn, etc is truly one of the greats we produced. Rest in peace mr lightfoot! And for a life fully enriched and most of all thanks so much for your brilliant musical gifts for future generations to enjoy!

Wow!! Jealous Lovers.. and so we cried. That song was the most personally moving song for me that Gordon ever did. I believe it was on the album Summertime Dream. Back in the 70s I learned every song on that album and performed them. That song was the favourite of my audiences, maybe because I always sang if from my soul. It is a song that I've forgotten about and was delighted when Gordon said he never did it for many years. To hear him sing it here brought many memories. Thank you Gordon in Heaven ❤️

Thank you for the video, Gordon has always been one of my favorite singer, songwriters and you obviously feel the same as I. I've played bass in many country western bands and it seems that in each one there was at least one of his songs that would make our song list, and there was always a great response from the audience including having them join in with us during the chorus. Personally I'm going to miss Gordon very much, so long to one of my favorite writers and performers.
