@@LarsAgerbk probably because Nichols claim that GM only ‘took the glory because he’s making a new car’ is exactly what he’s doing - the N1A, look it up.
I wouldn’t be angry, the channel is almost exclusively in Italian and a lot of it is Italian car-related. I would rather it not go “mainstream” and possibly lose its luster.
I've seen a lot of GM interviews, but this interview brought out some new ideas and perspectives from Gordon. Brilliant questions and a special interview. Bravo, Davide 👏
I spent the afternoon at Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta with Gordon Murray back in 2010. We were both guests of Panoz Motorsports. Danny Panoz tossed me the keys to his golf cart and asked me to show Gordon the best areas of the circuit for viewing. I will never forget those memories talking to one of my heroes about cars and racing and music. PRICELESS !!!

Bravo Davide ! Great you got to interview him. Was lucky enough to meet him on a magazine shoot when I had an S4 elan. He arrived in a S2 elan! Brilliant man. He drove my S4 and said “ yes the steering is not quite right “ looked at the tyres and said “ah 165 on the back and 155 on the front.. should all be 155” 👌♥️
What a fabulous interview; GM has to be one of the greatest automotive designers of our time. It was especially interesting to hear his cerebral approach to manufacturing, and overcoming the hurdles of using F.1 technology for road car projects and mass production. I enjoyed his discussion about focusing his engineering efforts in keeping super cars as a purist driving experience, rather than the current trend of injecting complexity to manage the performance for even average drivers. He's such a delight to listen to, bravo Davide for this.
A great interview with one of car history's most innovative designers. A great job and I enjoyed the link to Gordon Murray's interest in music. As much as I have a fascination for the Porsche 959 (and I have actually driven the car), the McLaren F1 is probably my favorite super sports car. The engine makes the car more than anything else (not to belittle Murray's otherwise fantastic work with the car). BMW Motorsport's then chief engine engineer Poul Rosche did a more than fantastic job. 627 horsepower from a self-breathing V12 was out of this world in 1992 when the F1 came on the market.
The questions in this interview were all so brilliant, different cars exemplifications for benchmarks explained in most technical detail aspects to see the genius perspective, i mean i'm a mortal that felt so conected, i didn't wanted to end so soon, absolutely brilliant interview love every second of it.. tank you Davide Cironi !

Fantastico Gordon..è emozionante, mitologico. Non potete capire...anni 70 si seguiva nicky poi passato alla brabham..e ancora piccolo vidi tutto quel gran premio con quella macchina che aveva il ventilatore dietro (avevo 11 anni). Poi brabham divenne grande lo vidi a monza tra ecclestone e piquet. tifai piquet e tutto il team per anni. Ma quando Gordon lascio brabham io smisi di seguire piquet e il team e tifai per mc laren. Chiti, forghieri ok come paragoni per personaggi dell'epoca...ma no non scherzate lui era davvero 3 gradini sopra. Grazie Davide

He forgot to talk about Honda NSX and how it was the most influential to McLaren F1 car. Hope you interview him a lot more!!! One of the few that remembers about Lole Reutemann in F1 too. What a gentleman.
I love the "arrogant" ( and rightfully ) way Professor Murray use to describe his accomplishments, and the weak points about the rivals of his cars. The Formula 1 years were absolutely brilliant, "they are basically just bad losers". The McLaren F1 was, still is, and will forever be considered a masterpiece and a milestone in automotive design. All the new cars from GMA are nothing but the reflection of his vision and mindset about how a supercar should be, with no marketing compromise of any kind, hats off. La scelta stilistica di non inquadrarti mai come per le altre interview ha un impatto fantastico, è come fosse un monologo guidato. Complimenti davvero anche perché ha buttato M sulle tue due auto preferite (F40 e EB110) e hai continuato l'interview senza colpo ferire :D
Beh tutte le macchine da lui menzionate sono completamente diverse dalla sua filosofia di creare una macchina quindi ci può stare pure. Ma sicuramente apprezza le macchine da lui elencate! Sono sicuro che se avessimo potuto chiedere all Ingegnere Materazzi riguardo la F1 avrebbe trovato qualche imperfezione e lato negativo. Quindi ci sta!
La felicità con cui Gordon Murray parla dei detagli di ingegnaria che ha creato con i colleghi amici durante tanti anni di carriera è davvero fantastica! Queste interviste sono un monumento alla storia delle macchine, del automobilismo!

Davide non si vede né si sente, l'intervistato, come sempre nelle sue interviste, è il centro di tutto, con libertà di dire quel che vuole. Quel che si riceve è passione allo stato puro, passione non improvvisata ma che dura da una vita, che coinvolge anziché escludere chi, come me, è solo un neofita. Ottima intervista, complimenti! Mi fa molto piacere che Gordon Murray nel suo racconto dica spesso la parola "Italia" ma è allo stesso tempo triste perché allo stato attuale il nostro paese non è più un esponente di alto livello nel mondo automobilistico, la frase da mettere in evidenza di questa intervista è riferita alle auto moderne "sono auto estremamente capaci ma non hanno una grande anima" completamente d'accordo ,mi piacerebbe tanto che la filosofia di auto analogica di Gordon fosse adottata da molti costruttori ma aimè non accadrà.
Miodio cosa hai intervistato. Un DIO dell'automobilismo e un gentleman inglese di classe sopraffina :) La F1 GTR rimane nella mia top 3 delle supercar di sempre. Insieme alla 720s e alla recentissima , meravigliosa MC20. E complimenti per il montaggio , stupendo , semplice e di gran classe. The feeling of Murray about actual supercars is pure, I understand when the technology help a lot the driver, but not many are pure racing driver, the possibility the buy all of these amazing machines is complicated.
Murray's belief in lightness, pure engineering and connection between man and machine is why the F1 is worth millions today, and why the T50 will also in time. He is a true automotive genius,,,and has great taste in music ;) Great interview :)
Che dire, Gordon Murray è un genio, una mentalità estremamente determinata e risoluta, ha saputo trasformare in oro tutto ciò sul quale ha messo mano. Sicuramente uno dei personaggi più influenti della storia del motorsport. Quando ha raccontato della progettazione della mitica F1 aveva già in mente un'auto che guardava già al futuro, ed infatti ne è uscita una supercar da sogno rimasta imbattuta da decenni. Ennesimo splendido video, Grazie Davide PS: (mio personalissimo pensiero) Quando parlano di supercar come la Veyron, mi viene quasi da sorridere se paragonate alla F1, soprattutto considerando la differenza di "età" e di potenziale.
Ricordo un’intervista di Murray nei primi anni 2000, un giornalista dell’epoca gli chiese cosa pensasse del progetto della Bugatti Veyron. Lui, seccato dalla potenza di 1000cv e dai 400km/h che i giornali comunicavano, gli rispose che non bisogna mai parlare di un’auto prima di averla fatta.

Sempre interessante ascoltare la vita di questi geni raccontata da loro. Provo una grande invidia nei loro confronti perchè sono nati in un' epoca in cui i sogni erano possibili se avevi tanta voglia di riuscirci (e se avevi buone idee). Non dico fosse facile, anzi, però questi geni avevano la possibilità di emergere. Io ho iniziato a lavorare negli anni '90 quando era ancora un po' così, si portavano curriculum a mano, suonando al campanello dell'azienda e molte volte parlando col proprietario stesso. Nessuno mi ha mai chiesto con che voto mi fossi diplomato. Anche adesso credo ci siano, tra i tanti, giovani brillanti e volenterosi, ma vengono spesso mortificati da contratti ridicoli e colloqui con uffici risorse umane che poi assumono parenti e amici.
Davide! Ti seguo da sempre da quando praticamente iniziasti in sardegna, non mi sono mai annoiato con i tuoi video, ma con questo ti sei superato. Una intervista fantastica e delle risposte anche migliori.... Credo la guarderò altre 10 volte nei prossimi due giorni, grazie per scoprire tutti i retro scena del motorsport. F 40? Nice interview in general but whatever he says about the MP4/3 and MP4/4 should be taken with a bit of salt as it’s not backed up by the members of the design team.
Sad but fulfilling to see another South African reaching the pinnacle in his field but never given a chance to do so at HOME. 35 years of a blind government that led to all the great talent fleeing the country. Kinda never mentioned in F1 today but Murray is if not the greatest right there at the top.
