I’m amazed by the engineering that goes into this vehicle, particularly given the back-of-the envelope business case. 265 million pounds from selling 100 cars but spending 1.3 million just on a machined switch cluster. Imagine the upfront cost of developing all the truly complex bits: monocoque, engine, trans, electrical and mechanical systems. Then a bunch of validation and pre-prod cars! Paying the best engineers in the business! Maybe they’re making a killing on the customization and post-production. Whatever the case may be, there must be some truly masterful engineering, supply chain, and project management moves being made.

@@bigben57 I watched that entire video, but it doesn't really change my feelings entirely for a few reasons. Firstly, I think the whole situation can be summed up with the section at 56:10 in that video, 'Murray threatens Nichols'. Murray was/is allegedly taking credit for other's work in an effort to rebuild his brand around his own name and make cars, but as that video also pointed out, Nichols is also doing the exact same thing right now, making his own cars, which leads me into: Secondly, that video looks bad for Murray, real bad. But you've gotta get both sides to something like this man. Things can be slanted or twisted any which way if it's just somebody taking shots at somebody else. What I'd really like to see is Gordon come on that channel and do a follow-up. Thirdly, this is stuff that's 20 years old. Even if Murray flat out did everything Nichols claims and worse, does that mean Murray should never be trusted ever again? Have you never done anything you're not proud of? I know I sure have. How would you feel if people brought it up 20-30 years later as a testament to your character? And fourth, this all has nothing to do with my original comment. My comment was about how Gordon conducted himself in this video, absolutely nothing to do with the MP4/4. When referring to Murray as a gentleman, I was talking about his demeanor. Here you have somebody who really knows his stuff, far more than this Top Gear presenter will ever know, and yet when somebody who knows nothing is talking about his creations, he's patient, and willing to listen. I know he stands to gain from the exposure of these videos but I've seen people stand to gain more and still treat others like dirt - but we don't see that at all here from Gordon.

@@trousers2 You can believe whatever you like about Gordan. The fact remains that there is no evidence to back up Gordon's claim that he designed the MP4/4. A gentleman does not take credit for other people's work.

Bad news is that they aren't on very good terms with each other since the CCR days. Gordon has an ego thing over the people he's worked with and his rivals. Could change though. If Koenigsegg puts their super light weight carbon wheels on this (despite what Gordon says), the wheels that you could lift with a single finger, we could be thinking of 970 kilos maybe. Also Koenigsegg knows how to do backlit aluminium. But if anyone else could engineer at this level, it's Koenigsegg.

We are witnessing history This is one of those exceptions where the buyers of a car are truly lucky More than the money, the opportunity to have this experience, to spec an extremely rare and legendary machine of this stature, with the genius who can call it his brainchild is, something that very few people will get the chance to experience. Some of these buyers are great enthusiasts and racing drivers, though the real edge they have, to grasp the key to being a part of automotive history, is up to being in the right place at the right time. 100 limited cars 100 first buyers 100 people who will get to envision their very own F1 successor masterpiece That’s all. That’s it We are witnessing history

Not really. Being able to fully customize your car is nothing new and many other manufacturers do it, with even more limited editions. Besides, several UHNW clients have passed on the T50 after the private unveiling due to the unjustifiable cost and how awful they think the design is.

@@Rodisflawless while true, this car caters to a very specific subset of enthusiasts. It's not the Instagram crowd that it's going for design wise. There is far more demand than availability. The same people don't understand why this engine doesn't need as much torque as a Z06 motor

It's been said that physics is mathematics constrained by reality, and that engineering is physics constrained by finances, it is cool to see what happens when the financial consideration is removed from the equation. The fan reduces drag by about 12.5% or almost the same as turning a Chiron into a Chiron SS. Maybe in the Project Two they'll hide it and use smaller fans inside. Also 15 kg thrust on a car of this size and shape is equal to aero drag at 80 kmph, so not insignficant.
