Not to be a downer or anything, but this video is a great judge of the double standards in our western culture. If Gordon Ramsay had done that very same thing to a woman, it wouldn't matter if he hit or not, everyone would have went crazy. He likely would have lost his show and more.

Well, the average man is significantly stronger than the average women. People are generally more inclined to tolerate a physical response if it's directed at a considerably stronger party from a weaker one. For ex. a man striking a middle schooler would be considered more objectionable than a middle schooler striking a man. People just have a sense that if you're much stronger, it's more unacceptable for you to be the one to initiate physical violence.
