"hey how was work today honey?" "Some fat kid ate a lot of meat, and the entire restaurant stopped and watched him eat it, it was the greatest moment of my life"
What if instead of winning over who you're with, you either both lose or you both win? Cause' if the person you care about is having a good time, then so would you. Hank is truly a winner.
It really shows the power of music when an animated boy eating a steak can become the most hype thing I've ever seen. I was full on cheering him on at the end.
Funny thing about this scene. I live close to Amarillo Texas, in and area known as the Texas panhandle, hence the name of the resturant. Theres a resturant in Amarillo called The Big Texan that serves a 72oz steak, which is free if you can eat the entire meal in under 1 hour.
Back in March 2011, I bought a car from a dealership in New Mexico; I was currently living in Charleston, SC. I flew to Albuquerque where a salesman met me at the airport with my 'new' (it was used) car. It was 2pm and I immediately hit the road for the drive back to SC. It was dinner time when I hit Amarillo, but for some reason I didn't feel hungry and from the interstate it looked like all of the restaurant parking lots were packed with cars...it was a Friday night. So I just kept going, not knowing how 'desolate' that part of the state can be. About an hour later my stomach groaned and I immediately became ravenously hungry. I thought about turning around and going back to Amarillo, but didn't want to waste a couple hours back-tracking on a 3-day drive. After another hour and thinking I was going to starve to death I saw it...a billboard advertising for a steakhouse 20 or 30-something miles ahead. I don't remember the name (I want to say Ken's, but I don't think that's it), but it was located in Shamrock, TX. When I finally got there, I was worried they might be closing soon. Flying from EST to MST and then driving into CST really had me confused as to what time it was...the radio in my 'new' car said 8 something, but was this MST? CST? Who knew? At any rate, I went into the restaurant and was served by a very pretty lady, but I was so hungry all I cared about was getting some food in my stomach. I proceeded to have the best steak I've ever eaten in my life; I ordered a 16oz T-bone, I think. It came with a huge baked potato and a salad. When I got the check I was amazed at what the total was...it was only $13 or $14!! I handed the waitress a $20 and told her to keep the rest because I had just eaten the best steak dinner ever...in Shamrock, TX...which I never would have known about if I hadn't bought a car via the internet.
The music works so well. It brings tension to when Bobby is trying to eat the steak, but it also works so well with the relief and joy of when bobby finishes and he basks in his victory.
Bobby didn’t just do it to win He did it to become a man, he did it to be the best of the best Bobby became more than a man that day, he became the best of the best there is to exist.
Waitress: "Oh, child, _bless your heart..._ " Zoomer: "Umm, gawd doesn't exist, and this offends m--" All the restaurant's patrons: _"BLESS YOUR HEART!"_ Best southern insult ever, hahah.
King of the Hill is such a treasure trove of a show, but any Peggy episode that comes on makes me fantasize about battering her senseless with a golf club
In one episode bobby became a meat critic and could identify top meats. So I don't know if this episode comes before or after that one, but bobby would know the difference for sure.
@@xenxander That episode aired near the end of the series (or was the finale, depending on how you interpreted those four episodes released later on), so this episode most likely came before.
My dad was the manager of a restaurant back in Amarillo Texas called The Big Texan, and they had a deal like this one, where if you ate a 72 oz. steak w/ some side dishes in under an hour you got it free
The only way to down a steak of that magnitude is with Guile’s theme on the most powerful speaker affordable, then you could have it completed in two minutes flat and still have room for bread and water
This was perfect... even the customers in the background at 1:02 and the pink shirt lady at 1:08 are like the npc characters on Guile's stage cheering Bobby on !!
I was just waiting for the ending to state in white text “Bobby finished the stake within a minute, he was later sick and died that day from salmonella. Bobby was adopted.”
I’m so glad someone made this I was literally thinking of when Bobby said “and I want it rate” plus the music you knew sh#t is about to go down Thank you so much for this it was just what I was imagined it as
