Tbh i would've crumbled after the ruined batch of rice. The way he quickly regains his footing and starts over again is commendable. When pressure is on in the kitchen it's easy to feel stuck with a mistake, but he just rolls with it, deduces the failure point, and course corrects without delay.

one of the great traits Gordon has is he always travel and learns from every people and cultures around the world, this makes him one of the greatest chefs alive.

"why are they putting the rice on when all of my experience and expertise is telling me that it only takes 20 minutes?". But instead of arrogantly assuming they were doing it wrong, he accepted that his knowledge is limited and that they know more than him and adjusted accordingly while attempting to seek out additional information to catch up with them.
