I feel like Chester and Layla’s Lodge were the only hotels that weren’t arrogant and took Gordon’s advice, and are still succeeding today

I feel like these are the first hotel owners that really deserve to be helped.

I actually felt close to tears with this, they are genuine people who are on the brink, with bad circumstances and a hard time on their shoulders. They are so greatful for everything it's hard not to feel something for them. Gordon has clearly got what the businesses needs and when he goes to people like this it's nice to see that they aren't all horrible and ungreatful.

I searched the Hotel up and they are now offering rooms for a 3 month lease for those who were not able to find a place during COVID. Lovely to see them use the hotel to give back to the community. Truly a heartwarming episode, they really deserved all the help they got.

This episode is a prime example of how Gordon really isn’t a mean person at all. He is simply very passionate. He cares deeply about what he does and he will always go out of his way to help good people.

I frown on alot of episodes cuz they get such an expensive makeover when they don't fking deserve it... These ppl did!

For people who don't know, they now have a 4.5 rating (it peaked at 4.9 after the episode of course) and they are doing very well!

4:04 the chefs are there to help his hotel kitchen yet he still said he's looking forward to getting to know them and to give them all his support...that's so heartwarming

This goes to show not everyone failing is due to lack of effort. Sometimes people just need a helping hand and we should all do our best to reach that hand out and do what we can to help each other.

the fact that the hotel is still doing well (before pandemic) really shows that the owners were good people. Just happened to encounter many unfortunate circumstances.

You can really tell that they’re affectionate people and full of love. At 0:33 the way the wife hugged her husband seemed really genuine. And it says a lot about them when the husband couldn’t contain his happiness and just straight up hugged the new head chef. Plus the way they express their gratitude towards Gordon is just really heartwarming.

For the people who thinks Gordon is a mean person(because of his shouting), this video shows that he has a pure heart and this video even made me cry

This is proof that Gordon doesn't just blame everything on the owners. He genuinely sees when there's a problem with how they're choosing to manage and when there's a problem with the way they're running the place because they simply have no other options.

UPDATE JANUARY 1st 2021, The hotel is still running with a 4.9 star rating!

I think this episode shows the difference between a dedicated person who has fallen on on hard times and an ignorant person who causes the failure of their restaurant.

Atleast the man kept his word about hugging and kissing Gordon.

With how harsh Gordon can be I think people forget how great of a philanthropist he is. He has helped so many hotels and restaurants but also has helped lift people up emotionally hes just such a great guy and I think people forget that sometimes

I feel that gordan did more then save the hotel, he saved thier lives.

You could see Sukie knew what was coming in the apartment. She was literally fighting her own hope. But once Gordon confirmed it was all for them, she finally accepted it. The color came back into her face. She laughed and cried and ran around like a kid. Suddenly the future didn't hold only worry and dread. Her hope was back. Gotta be one of the most meaningful moments on any of Gordon's shows

Not gonna lie. I would want to stay there. The owners seem so sweet and their family seems very beautiful. Great job Gordon.

One of the few people on Gordon’s show that actually deserves all the help they get, the chef was nice and never really argued with Ramsey and wasn’t in complete denial like literally almost every other person was.

The fact that Gordon could’ve only given them that new Hotel Chester sign and they would’ve been eternally grateful shows how deserving and genuine these owners were.

Seeing Dave find his motivation again. Wanting to help the chiefs and seeing his smile. And sue’s reaction to everything was so wholesome, she had tears in her eyes. It shows when Gordon finds someone truly deserving, and someone he knows can do good. He is willing to so much to help them

We need humans like Gordon

i love how after gordon listened to what happened with the hotel afterwards to find outa bit of a backstory and genuinely wanted to help after hearing what they’ve been going thru. that’s not a dickhead people, gordon wants to help people who genuinely want his help, not just call him for help only for him to get denials.

This is just heartwarming. People can talk shit to gordon but when he sees people struggle in his passion he just gives everything he can to make those people's dreams come true. A generous man, bless him.

People saying Gordon is an ass and all. Gordon is a human being, you treat him respectfully, he gives it back. Most of the episodes are awful people who care little, give attitude or just dont have any pride in themselves to earn Gordon's respect. Suki and her spouse and family treated Gordon with humility and respect, and henceforth the end result.

these people are one of the few owners that I respect and want good out of. its crazy how much someone can do to someone. it makes me smile that they are appreciating the things that gordon did.

This episode went beyond Hotel Hell. This became a personal, heartfelt matter quickly. The two of them were clearly trying their best, after all they'd been through. They weren't failing because they didn't care. They were just two lovely souls who were down on their luck, hard. From adding the robata grill for Sukie to express herself, and her love of cooking, in a way that still holds a Japanese flair, to Gordon renting them both a beautiful place to live for a half a year out of his own pocket just so they could be happier, and have a healthier marriage and life. This is what makes television, and people, great. God bless.

I think this one had to be probably be one of the best Hotel Hell episodes because it shows the reality of a lot of situations We see the bad ones a ton but hard situations that have just spiraled out of control can happen to anyone and it warms my heart to see that as soon as Gordon realizes the situation he just wants to help not the business but their situation improve

Sukie is the star in my eyes. She went through all the bad and it looks like she still tried to make the best of it even stuck living in a small room of their business. She took the reins of keeping the business going when her man experienced a very bad car wreck. She's amazing
