Guy sounded like he was on amphetamines lol Rambling on about nothing, like, who tf cares if you think he was disrespectful bro, its not egotistical if you can back it up
I can see both sides tbh. There's a fine line with being respectful to other big names in the game. At the same time athletes need to market themselves, and that's the reality we live in
I see a total of 90 seconds in this match where Gordon uses excessive energy. The efficiency alone in his transitions, escapes, set ups and inversions is ridiculous. Mute the video and study the little things. See who does what better, shut up and learn.
Dude would have gotten tapped in the first 30 secs with today's heel hook rules. Sad that he could chill and had to go thru 13 more minutes of smashing by Gordon
would it be ok if that 10 times world champion DID have massive crowds cheering for him and celebrating each of his victories each time? and advertising/ marketing campaigns around him to promote BJJ etc? if not, why?
All Brazilian fighers looking at the ref for saving when in a reap 😂😂😂

Look, guys, Mohammed Ali was one of the first and best shit talkers ever. I'm pretty sure he invented it. And I'm not saying Ryan is like him but stick with me while I make my point. And I'm not even saying Ryan does this intentionally, but Ali did. He did it so white people would pay to see him get beat which at one point in his career made him the most recognizable person on the planet. No shit. He made a lot of money that way and elevated the sport. He is the reason today's top boxers are paid ridiculous amounts of money. And who gets to dictate what jiujitsu culture should be, certainly not the Brazilians. Or American's for that matter. It's the guys who are at the top of the game. They unconsciously or purposely affect the evolution of jiujitsu and how it's perceived around the world. So, by who's definition is Ryan being disrespectful? Aren't we really talking about some group's expectation that Ryan should be respectful? Then I ask what qualifies those people to make those judgments? Nobody owns jiujitsu or has a patent on it. It doesn't belong to any one country or ethnicity. Tradition, custom, and sports culture are one thing but let's keep it all in perspective.
it's good for the sport :) it happens all the time until the sports get maturity to have competitors from the entire world, I'm brazilian and hope to see a lot of new born talents like good Ryan not only from NA but from the entire world.

“Without the marketing”… which is why etching Bjj hasn’t become mainstream at a quicker pace because of old fashion, out dated thinking about Jiu Jitsu. I’m so sick of hearing the “we’re better than that” BS.
@@aplus1080 I seen it, Yuri kept his weight lower and became more diligent about control Gordon's legs, largely killing his inversions. Was a good adjustment, couldn't get the pass though.
i want danaher to make his own tournament, and have all his top students leg lock each other. no weight classes. that would be epic. gordon, gary, nicky, aj, etc.
@@oftankoftan yea i know he said that. jiu jitsu in reality favours technique over all, vs other martial arts where size is a greater factor to win. yes weight matter, agreed, but not nearly as crucial in other combat sports. and i dont have to practice jiu jitsu to understand what makes it unique lol. ive competed as a first dan black belt in taekwondo, if it makes u any happier
@@pati6443 I hear you. I disagree that we should have a tournament without weight classes, but I appreciate your well-written reply. I've competed in submission-wrestling, btw.
enough with the bullshit reaping rules ffs. its bad enough not allowing the best blackbelts in the world to do the full range of submissions, i mean they are supposed to have a complete game at that level, but reaping is just complete fucken nonsense
my Choice of Martial Art is Wing Chun. this is more potent in close than any Wing Chun Technique i have trained in yet.. (from 2010 to 2020 in Wing Chun) i am looking for a good BJJF training location in Indianapolis Now! Wow. indomitable fight skill.. its near 100% of my Street Fights that 'go to grappling' for Positive Conclusion.
Be versatile in your art from any direction and angle, you never know where an attack will come at you from. If he can defend from his ass successfully, and is able to adapt to every scenario he encounters here enough to overcome it, what’s your issue if not personal?
funny when the commentators say "fight" really? where are the punches, kicks, headbutts, knees, elbows. sucks when commentators cannot fight for real but act like they know everything. if they did, they would be UFC champs
@@asiraky a fight includes everything you can use to end it as fast as possible. choking, submitting or pinning is a grappling match without strikes which means it is not a fight. you should take some martial arts lessons and learn something so you understand the difference.
@@realitywithmj4334 so watching muy thai you're not watching a fight? And we shouldn't refer to two muy thai competitors beating the shit out of eachother as a fight?
LoL. Gordon Ryan needs to learn stand-up wrestling if he wants to have any chances crossing over to MMA. Pulling guard doesn't really work when you're getting ground and pounded.
Dude fucking everyone in BJJ is juiced lmao. It's like the UFC before USADA. If you aren't on the juice, it's your fault, you know everyone else is juicing
