Even at this time you can see the seeds of greatness from Gordon. Calm precise Jiu-Jitsu. Patience and composure. That set up for the back take was beautiful.
His progression in general has been insane. He's been doing bjj less time than most of the tough people he's beaten have been black belts. Guy is a natural.
Gordon kind of reminds me of Demian Maia. Not in style so much but in the smooth transitions always progressing to the finish and his strength. No wasted motion or energy. Beautiful to watch!
i dont understand how people play so dumb; like "gee i wonder how he put so much muscle on?" stop dancing around it ...its called fucking steroids ...not saying he aint good but stop talking light idiots
@@markmceathron2013 doesn't mean it's not useful in grappling wtf. There is plentiful submissions and multiple sweeps from rubber gaurd and it's an easy entry. You can go from on your back to top side control within 10 seconds. I say as soon as your back hits the floor, look for a sweep or go rubber gaurd.
Ralek did and he got smoked. Gordon called the submission and the time frame in which he would do it weeks before the fight to Raleks face on instagram.
@@Muppen01 You really think a high level blackbelt is going to sky rocket in technical knowledge over the span of a few years as opposed to IDK... Doubling/trippling muscular strength?
Traps one arm with leg from back control, then key locks the other before taking the leg thats trapping the other arm and going into a reverse triangle... after that it was just him trying to get his hips angled to finish it. Orchard put up a hell of a fight.
Gordon made sure to secure inside position with a leg and establish upper body control as he did it, so everything was set in place to slide into mount or side control. Nathan probably preferred to give up mount than risk exposing himself to submissions by fighting back and giving Gordon a limb or leg in the process, since Gordon was in such a strong passing position before going to mount. For guard, it seems like just really good activity with his legs to keep getting back to inside positions and always bring them into play whenever there's a scramble.
Sometimes. It depends on the school, and this looks like a match that was set up. You can search “Marcelo Garcia sparring analysis” he often has sparring rounds with high level guys, everyone else continues training, but everyone’s eyes are also watching lol 👀. It is common however, in probably all gyms, that when sparring, lower belts always give way to higher belts out of respect. Especially a head coach for example.
Brandon he works his ass off in the weight, huge scientific protein diet, and probably anadrol moderate cycling. Then H Walker type pushups after rolling 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Ryan had exactly 0 wrestling. Also, he would fail in transitions in a way you never see him doing nowadays. However, he has gas, defense, escapes and composure to keep him fighting for hours. He’d slow grind opponents. Currently he mauls them.
Well, I guess if suplements worked they would be called steroids. I didn't remember how much NOT AS DOMINANT Gordon looked in his pre super soldier serum days.
Don’t forget 4 years of every day training under arguably the best bjj coach of all time, it’s just not right to say that he’s better because of roids. The biggest thing roids helped with was moving up in weight classes.
@@Muppen01 Danaher is a genius, no doubt about it. His leg lock game is revolutionary. But the way Ryan smashes people from top, passing guards like it's nothing to gain mount, and his utter unstoppability after he takes someones back, is FOR SURE 60% or more due to his newfoud supernatural horsepower.
