I recently bought an electric snowblower. This will be its third winter... really, I just bought it, how can it be the third? Anyway I am on the shelf about whether I like it better than a gas snowblower. But one of the advantages is no maintenance. No gas, no oil. And the drive and auger are direct drive from the electric motors... no belts. The batteries are a pain the the butt though. I thought I would be happy getting away from dealing with gas. It does have good torque though. About the same as an 8hp... maybe a bit better.
Just feels like it's third winter I guess. heh heh Electric certainly has it's pros and cons... you'll come crawling back to gas... you'll miss it... deep down, you'll really, really miss it.

I really wanted to like this snowblower... but at the end of the day, I think it is a throwaway (he he). For the price, I could have got a really good gas one. And, once the batteries wear out, they are half the price of the snowblower,
