I really appreciate you showing how you replace the bearings. It would be helpful if you were to mention what year your MTD yard machine was. Mine looks similar, but it's a smaller 38 inch cut. Model made between 2000 & 2003.
Thanks for the video, but I have two questions: how do you lubricate these new needle rollers each year and secondly how do you lubricate the middle loose sheave of the pulley that slides and rotates? My MTD has the 'long version' of the variable pulley and the middle sheave is on a sleeve and slides up and down but has siezed. Thanks
Love your video have the same setup did buy my mover for free but it has all the springs turned out if got all put together except the big spring on the top can't figure out where it goes. If you can help me
I got about 30 of the old VSP units that I dipped in used motor oil and put in 55 gallon barrels, yea two are full I see parts for them will no longer be available or made before long I suggest old mechanics storage up these mowers and engines for grand kids
I'm in Canada but here is a link to them up here. I'm not sure if RU-vid is going to let me link it here. I'll put the link in the description as well. www.mtdparts.ca/en/all-parts/needle-bearing/741-0404.html Thanks for dropping by.
