If you have ever been to a recent gorguts show you would be just standing there and just staring into space as well.. why? Because their music is so crazy good that u can't do anything but stand and stare.. I don't wanna miss anything by jumping around acting crazy.. plus luc Lemay wants u to just watch.. his thing is this, he wants u to appreciate the music and see what's really going on w what they're doin cuz it's so fuckin insane and good.. like an orchestra or somethin.. luc Lemay is a metal fuckin genius! Up there w Chuck schuldiner of death.. but gorguts are one of the top death metal acts that brought the early 90s death metal alive.. they kick serious fuckin ass.. always have.. but thats why the crowd is so "lame" .. not that they are lame, it's just they're in a death metal musical trance.. lol.. if that makes any sense at all.. anyway, one of my favorites.. ever.. gorguts rules! Cheers..
I saw Gorgurts open for Cannibal Corpse back in 91'Their drummer got sick and puked all over his drum kit after the third song and THAT'S my story on Gorguts.
ArnoldVeeman Half of the fun of death metal shows are the mosh pits and crowd surfing! Its called feeling the music, not standing around watching it! You must be a millennial!
Listening to good music is good fun too. I know this band from the very start and saw how they evolved. So first of all, that doesn't make me a millennial but thanks for the compliment ;-) Secondly, sure it is fun to do the mosh pits and stage diving and this music is just right for it, but most people that are watching shows like these are in awe of what is being produced by them that they don't need to. But when the opportunity is given to do so you'll find me right in the middle. A good thing, at least for me for I think that music can also be "just" felt in experience" rather than interactively. It is just another ride, another dimension. But that is actually precisely what you were saying "half the fun". I am wasting time here ;-) Probably just like you I've heard a lot of great bands but for me this band has a special place in the world of death metal.
8o86 I dunno, dude. If I were there and 14:50 hit, I'd be uncontrollably head banging and thrashing about. It'd be harder for me to stay still like most of them.
Not a band to headbang to all the way....they keep you going in a more "dreamy" way...but i watched a very similar reaction in a pyrrhon video..for me it's thumbs up all the way!!!
If I were luc I'd rather people be watching awestruck than thrashing around not actually paying attention; I always personally enjoy shows more if I'm mesmerized by the band.
