Something about gorillas and the 80s overall. Maybe it's the gorillas I remember from 80s movies such as Caddyshack, or Trading Places or Harry and the Hendersons. Or even less popular 80s B movies like Going Ape, King Kong lives, or the 80s Tarzan movie I remember. Or the gorillas in 80s arcade games Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr., or the gorilla from Showbiz Pizza which I remember going to as a kid in the 80s
Prisoner, This Gorilla is surrounded by cold concrete and cages. It is thank god he/she has the pool, Staff is trying. Hope better conditions elsewhere. Minimal time in the cages, like none, free to go in and out…maybe a sanctuary. Needs Free as possible!
@@YelizKaplanwer'e much closer to chimps, who are the epitome of chaotic neutral (note i didnt say chaotic evil, theyre unpredictable, but not the killing machines ppl think they are)
I am in awe. The best of our athletes and ballerinas have nothing on an every day gorilla. Look at the musculature, the grace with which he moves, always keenly aware of his surroundings, and where his body is in space. Just awesome.
@ChessmindedThinker you missed the point. Human athletes learn, study and practice in order to achieve their amazing feats. This Gorilla does this quite easily with abandon. No training, no watching himself over and over on video in order to observe his movements and make corrections or improvements. I am a former ballet teacher and I assure you,not one untrained student stepped into the studio with the ability to perform. If you are not amazed, you must not have ever trained to achieve a physical feat.
@@apples874- I remembered enough to understand marc's post, but not yours. "Ici" confused me, but I probably would've remembered if I tried. Happy Bastille Day!
All I could think was how that beautiful gorilla was getting taken away into freedom in his dance. All of his yearning and wishes to be free and live life like how he was able to express that in the dancing and the music. It transcended him right out of the prison he lived in.
Yes, and he was enjoying it. Someone on here was insistent that the gorilla was freaking out, but I disagree. If he was tripping, he wouldn't be moving around in the pool like that, he'd be jumping out of the pool and trying to get out of there, banging down the walls or door.
The setting....prison. The lighting...artificial. The subject...inmate with nothing else to do. The music...hypes up the fake. The art...of frustration. The gracefulness...we know. The talent...we know that this incarcerated subject is talented, all gorillas are. The intelligence...enough intelligence to know he's locked up and that pool was only there long enough to make some money for those who take his freedom.
For anybody who’s worried about him: This is Zola, at the Dallas Zoo. He lives in a nice outdoor enclosure, with plants, dirt, and big boulders. And three other male gorillas. The room with the pool is just an indoor area they have access to, in case it’s raining or they feel like being inside. But he’s not locked in that room. So he really is just having fun! He also does breakdancing! 😂 So reassuring ❤🥰
He doesn’t have, like, you know, I wouldn’t call them classically good “dance moves,” but he leaves it all out there. He looks like a blast to dance with.
@@ohana8535 not sure where you're getting your bullshit from, this is clearly a silver back gorilla (silver backs are males) Even if he isn't the dominant male. Its obvious he is male, just look at his phenotype. Gorillas aren't all built like Kerchef from Tarzan.
I was 30 yrs old when it hit me that we’re so freggin similar w/ animals.. from micro to macro, from being based on DNA/RNA/proteins, same types of cells/tissues, same bone structures w/ all mammals (even whales & dolphins who have the same bones in their flippers & tales we have in our hands & feet), same heads w/ eyes, noses, mouth & teeth, brain, spinal chord, heart, kidneys, lungs, liver… *Why the f*uck did we think we’re not related?! How?!* 😵💫😂
Best barrel turns ever at the end. This guy was really in control of his balance. Humans have to learn that maybe because we are disembodied from our innate senses.
@@laborincana4490 It is a girl. In this clip she is too far away and moving far too fast to see the coloring properly. But gorrillas vary widely in body shape and color, even among immediate families, never mind between types of gorrilla, so to try to judge a fast moving animal from a distance is just dumb. Many times I've mistaken females for male, because of the head shape. But only when we get a still shot of a very mature male can we be absolutely sure. There is a fairly mature male I see a lot on RU-vid who has the same dumpiness of a female, and I often don't even recognize him, because he is so dumpy and awkward. Like us, they come in all sizes, shapes, and colors. People who come in here, posing as experts after watching a few videos are idiots. Whatever makes them think they have the knowledge or the right to impose their faulty knowledge on everyone, even on the people who live in that city, and know that gorrilla. The arrogance and stupidity of the average RU-vidr is just astounding!
This shows how amazing animals are. How much more there is to their mind and emotions than many humans humans think or care to understand. This , to me, reveals they have a soul - mind, will, and emotions. They deserve so much better than so many are treated by humans. I don’t know if this guy is a rescue gorilla Or not, But if not, he would be so much happier dancing in the waters of the land he was meant to live out his life, with the group of gorillas he was meant for. He’s beautiful, and more soulful than most people.
So much better? Better from living in that hellhole he's living in. He's dancing like he never gets to go anywhere and is going to another level because they put something exciting in his cell. Better than what Virginia?
“Yes, he’ll take his cat and cuddle it some more!” (Original lyrics) 😂 Great mashup! The splashing bit was genius. I’ve seen other ones, but you teuly picked the perfect song to go with this video.
It’s absolutely UNCANNY - how the RU-vid algorithm figured out that A GORILLA… BREAK DANCING… in A PADDLING POOL… was the EXACT thing that I most needed to see right now….. ✌️😳
Yeah, lol, it is an amusing video. There's something about gorillas in the 1980s in general. Maybe it's the gorillas in Trading Places, Caddyshack, Harry and the Hendersons, Going Ape, King Kong lives, or the 1984 version of Tarzan. Or the gorilla in 80s arcade game Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. Or the gorilla I remember from Showbiz Pizza that I remember going to in the 80s as a kid. Did I forget any 80s gorillas?
Do you all realize that he is dancing just like the dancer in the movie Flashdance? He is moving to the music, just like a human dancer. I love animals because they are amazing and real.
