Water won't give you a cold, bacteria does. It will make you feel cold depending on the temperature, NeNe was staying in the indent though and doing a dance. Rhis is the only gorilla family I see do that type of dancing around.
Nene seemed to be in a good mood the way she was rubbing her head indoors. When Annie is in a cheeky mood, she is irrepressible. It's so funny to see her splashing her dad.
I am wondering why the zoo does not provide enrichment for the Shabani troop like the Kyoto zoo does for Momotaro and his family? Also I have never seen any husbandry training either for any of these gorillas. This troop is so special but they appear bored most of the time. 🥲🦍❤
Yes they have enrichment better than Momotoro troop. And besides they are the most athletes, always exercising, running after each other, doing a lot of ropes , climbing not because of food and besides doing “ computer “ numbers aren’t an activity that acredite zoos by primates associated society and of course they do husbandry , if google Shabani troop husbandry you will get inumerable videos of them. Good luck
@stevemorris6790 Momontero family in previous years didn't have all the vegetation they have now , and not much enrichment. I am so glad it improved. Do still only get grass to eat?
@@joanne965 Husbandry is the umbrella term for grooming, medical, or health/wellness procedures. Husbandry training is about teaching the gorilla (or any other animal) to be a willing participant in those procedures. This approach is also called “cooperative care” because the animal is cooperating with us in his care.
@ZombieQueen819 Usually, Ai does it if she gets mad at Shabani or protects her mom from him. That would have been old videos. If you goggle Ai throws water at Shabani you might find some videos
@@Bella_Rose.2023 , that was an old video, filmed at the old enclosure, where they had a “ little pool” and Shabani loved to bath and Ai wanted too but Shabani “ kicked her out and she would throw water on him. It didn’t nothing to do with Nene.
Does anyone know why the gorillas do the whole bending over and shaking of the heads thing? For the life of me, I can't find anything on why they do that.
I don’t know the real reason but I’ve usually seen them do it in situations where they’re bored or annoyed. For example in one video the door from the basement closed in front of Annie while her family was waiting for her to come out, and after it closed Shabani did the head shake before going outside to look for her the other way. I’ve also never seen Gorillas do this in the wild, but I can’t be 100 percent certain.
If I could add my thoughts? I'm wondering if it's general anxiety as I've seen them do this for both positive and negative situations; Shabani does this when playing with Kiyo, but also when he is acting like a brat and is frustrated with him. That said, I believe the fast wrist-twisting is only done when they're negatively nervous. My question is how we can hear Annie blowing her nose and Kiyo crushing a dead leaf, but I've have never heard grunting vocalizations, just screaming and drumming. Is this just a Shabani family quirk or indicative of all captives? 🤔
New to the channel. Are they in captivity for any reason besides human entertainment? They seem bored to me and they obviously don't have concrete and ropes in their natural habitat, so this doesn't seem appropriate to me. I'm sure they are well cared for, but I'm just curious.
They all were born in captivity I believe. They don't like putting the captive wild back to the wild because they are not used to it and they usually die quickly from the other wild animals
