2-D isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. He isn't a leader either (E.X picture of a younger him smoking with a bunch of other kids and Murdoc's constant habit of taking control of him) I can see why you wouldn't like these characteristics but as we all now 2-D's a nice dude. Now Murdoc is a whole different story we all know he's a jerk but back to the question: "Why cheat on 2-D with Murdoc?" Nice guys finish last. Some girls seem to go for guys who are the alpha (primal instinct) Maybe 2-D can take another shot at love? For the third time?
Maddie L I know your comment was from like three years ago, but 2D is NOT sweet and kind. Well yeah sure, he's a pretty nice guy, and he has his sweet moments, but he's not a TOTAL nice guy. But I do agree that he doesn't deserve to be cheated on, especially since he was nothing more than a faithful boyfriend to Paula.
@Florentine 193 He's not that nice. He has a terrible personality. It was stated that 2D has kids, but doesn't care for them and doesn't pay child support. He is also a 40 year old man who takes drugs. 2D is definetly not an innocent, sweet person. But I still love him lmao
@Florentine 193 Murdoc isn't that bad, how everyone thinks. He has stopped abusing 2D and is friends with him, as you can see in the Humanz interviews. Murdoc was a terrible person, yes, but that's because he was also abused by his father and because he was drunk all the time. Look up "Murdoc being nice", there are some interviews with him being completely sober and he is actually a kind person. As for 2D: I don't know exactly what's with that child support thing, but it was only confirmed that he had sex with several women and then refused to pay child support.

Mariah Corona It would be plausible if it werent for the fact that Murdoc admitted that he was the one behind El Mañana and he staged the island crashing and was the one to send Noodles away till plastic beach.

I feel sorry for 2-D :( poor guy, he really loved Paula and she had to mess it up by sleeping with Murdoc (he's my favourite character, but a lot of the stuff he does is questionable).
I don't blame 2D for being angry at Murdoc over Paula. She really broke his heart when she chose the bassist over the singer. To me, despite his looks, 2D is really a sweet soul who just wanted to be loved. When I first saw him and the band as a little girl, I didn't think he was creepy at all. I did have a bit of a crush on him, and I guess I still do after all these years. As far as I know, he'll always be one of my rock star crushes. ❤🎹🎤
Keep in mind that Paula almost got 2D into other drugs rather than just painkillers. (Painkillers where for his migraines after falling headfirst from a tree and losing his originally coloured hair) And it also seems that Paula is still taking these drugs, as the narrator says in this
I think that Murdoc really was trying to do 2D a favor in his own fucked up way. Im not going to say that she's "ugly" or anything because I think that's Murdoc's cover story. I think he did it because he knew that if not with him, Paula would have cheated of 2D with someone. Murdoc knowing this probably didn't want 2D to become any more attached to a woman like her. With the circumstances dealt to him as a child I think Murdoc can't exactly say he loves or cares for anyone because it's no how he was raised. He probably didn't know how to express that he cared in any other way than lying in this interview about why he did what he did with Paula. Someone please agree with me on this. I honestly hate all of the hate Murdoc gets for this situation. It makes me sick.
In his 5/4 song he talked about Paula and how she made him kill himself and how “magic” is basically painkillers (drug) as he takes it and makes his pain go away also how in the lyrics “She turned my dad on” Murdoc is technically a father to 2d and Paula turned murdoc on.

@@1eft1ungg tbh, it probably DID happen that way. Phase 1/2 2-D was sort of a playboy, so I wouldn't be surprised if he just gave her his number and things went from there.
Makes me wish 2-D was actually real. Even though he’s just a cartoon it breaks my heart knowing 2-D was hurt and betrayed, he loved Paula so much. I just wish I could show him that I can love him better and never hurt him like she did to him
Honestly I dout it. The band (mostly Murdoc) will mention her here and there in interview's but I think that's just get people talking about there albums and what not. Even there newest phase did this like two times. All in all I don't think she's coming back in any role and this point I think that threat made may have been off pill, empty one so I wouldn't give my hopes up if I were you.

my dad is friends with murdoc's voice actor and whenever i'm listening to any murdoc dialogue ever, dad just goes "yeah, phil had to say that without laughing."
I don't get why people only shit on Paula for the cheating when Murdoc is to blame just as much for it, besides Paula and 2D are on good terms now as seen from a page in the Gorillaz Almanac (I believe) that states she baked 2D his favorite pie and apologised, cut all ties with Murdoc and went on to invent seagull repellent for chips, when asked about the Gorillaz she stated "They're still going?" And so yeah. 2D and Paula are on good terms now, she has no contact with Murdoc and that was 20 years ago, yet I still see people hating on her more than Murdoc when Murdoc had done more terrible things than Paula not just to 2D, he almost killed Noodle and kidnapped Russell. This is all just my Opinion ofcourse, you don't have to agree but it's just some things that i wanted to share to change your view on her. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
I actually feel bad for Paula tbh. Sure she's at fault for cheating on 2D when she probably should have broken up with him long ago (you can tell from the canon pic alone she just wasn't into him), but it's pretty clear that Murdoc fooled around with her to get her kicked out. He sounds like he has nothing but contempt for her. Probably thought she wasn't good enough for "his band" and decided to emotional scar her and 2D instead of just booting her. Maybe he wanted to ensure 2D didn't leave with her.
It’s funny how when the topic of Paula is brought up, Murdoc doesn’t like to dwell on it too much, usually just summarizing the whole thing as “Paula was trash.”
Upon hearing her now I was like "Ah well, she sounds nice. what she did was wrong but she's alright." Then she said their success made her feel a bit sick and she wanted to hurt people and I'm like "uh hon are you ok?"
2D sounds so upset. I genuinely can’t deal with how upset he sounds. The fact Murdoc said he did it cause she was ugly, and that 2D should thank him is enough to make me break murdocs nose again
I feel so, so sorry for poor 2-D :( He sounds genuinely hurt, and I think towards the end he really is about to cry. If I were 2-D's girlfriend, I'd put my two hands together and thank God I was blessed with a sweet, kind-hearted and compassionate boy like him, and I would love him unconditionally, because he really is one in a million! As Dhar Mann says: Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and an eternity to mend it. Paula, in my opinion, is the Voldemort of the band - her name should be She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. (Which reminds me, she looks a bit like Bellatrix LeStrange...) And as for Murdoc: he's great - as a musician. As a person, however - well, I'm having second thoughts...
2-D isn't an idiot my dude he is pretty smart and is self aware about murdoc's bs back then but he's been taking to many medication to the point were he just forgot about the stuff murdoc and the abuse and laughing at him while he was crying wooooow like real mature asshole it must be really funny to see someone suffer huh
Yes he is my dude and also i think your the type of person who lack having fun in general and taking things too seriously and it ain't there fault they were written like real people while they are still fictional characters which is true but they were written really well and i am with her
