Hey guys! GORUCK recently rereleased the infamous “Radio Ruck”! This is one of the original GORUCK rucks that is rarely released. I’ll tell you all about it and hopefully some are still available at the link below. This is a great option for lots of purposes and also for shorter backs! In this video I compare the Radio Ruck to the GR1 and the Rucker (small frame). (One note: in the video I refer to the Rucker as SHORT frame 🤦🏼‍♂️, it’s technically SMALL frame)

Thanks for sharing, The photos on the site were dark and hard to really visualize the sizing, so this was helpful - in daylight! Good work shooting this on the new equipment - iPhone and DJI.

@@JBOutside1 Thanks again. I really am a fan of their stuff, pricing notwithstanding 🥲. Have their kit bag, 26L Rucker (prev gen, I like the no laptop section to take advantage of all the volume), and 15L bullet (great bag for short load outs). And that’s just GoRuck!

Cool, I might actually use the Radio Ruck to carry portable amateur radio gear. I currently use the Rucker for that but it’s not deep enough so it’s hard to compress it flat and zip. Yeah, Ranger Green would’ve been my color choice too. Thanks JB

I have the rucker 3.0 small size..I kinda think of it as a "poor man's radio ruck" I love the lumbar padding.

This was great, sorry I didn't see this sooner, I ended up passing on my Ranger Green RR to someone else at cost-- I'm sure we can figure out how to get one from an fb group of GR enthusiasts if you can't get it off your mind.

Let’s go with “I have a use for every bag”…maybe sorta 😜. But in all honestly I need to purge a few. I typically seek to have a use for everything.

@@PanaMaJwaaRd Changes all the time! But where I sit right now...GR1 Heritage 21L and TBB 19L Conceal Black Ops! Shhhh, don't tell anyone. TAD Litespeed is probably a close one too, and don't forget the Kaidan bullet! Oh man, I guess that didn't answer anything...oh and that Evergoods PLC20...have you seen that?!

I highly doubt it. The Radio is a niche/cult following kind of bag. GORUCK is definitely committed to the GR1 and GR2 designs. A collaboration with someone else would be the only way we see something like that.

Doesn't one have holes at the bottom??? Which one is that because I don't want it? I am not a Rucker, nor a camera person, just looking for one for EDC and one for travel (maybe GR2 26L which is 18"?). I live in an urban environment (NYC) and need comfort as I pound the pavement all day (was concerned about the straps and 1000C...some people have said the straps take a lot of work to break in and the 1K eats clothes). I want a dedicated laptop compartment. Female, short torso and can't go longer than 18.5" but a really short bag looks awful on me. Thought about the GR1 21L Slick and regular version too. What do you rec? It's my first Goruck.

I just got the Radio in ranger green. Man it looks awesome! I think the Radio would be a good bet. I love this bag for EDC. The lack of frame sheet makes it super comfy. I’ve never had any problems with 1000D and clothes. For EDC I’d say Radio or GR1/21L. If you can find a GRXC1 I’m a huge fan. Very slick and wouldn’t ever damage clothes with friction. For travel I’d say a 26L GR1 or GR2. The GR2 has a separate compartment and newer ones are made from 500D which is a little slicker than the 1000D. They’re all sold out currently in GR2 but Facebook forums are usually pretty active.

Oh, forgot your first question: the Rucker has holes. None of the GR1/2/3 or Radio has drain holes. 👍🏻

@@JBOutside1 the Radio: no dedicated laptop compartment, right? The only thing that bugs me a tad is it is a lil short and though I am 5'6" with a short torso, anything shorter than 17-17.5" looks and feels a little weird and hits at a strange spot on my back. But I like that there's more depth. Decisions, decisions - along with GR1 21L (EDC) and GR2 26L (travel). I want a bullet! And I wish they would make a 500D version in the 1 & 2.Thanks so much for responding. Now I'm not sure what to do!!
