Great that you show actual carrying of this bag. And I just realised i watched this video 3 hours on, and exactly 3 hours ago I went on to purchase the Goruck Bullet 15L after watching your video!
Thanks! And the Bullet 15 is another favourite. Definitely a different kind of thing. This is a lot more beefy and stiffer. The Bullet is a great run around bag. Like them both quite a bit!
This video helps me decide to buy this sucker and Im not disappointed 😃 Really great pack and perfect for bike commute. The straps and backpanel is so comfy. oh and that padded lumbar support, awesome!
Been waiting on this one and I am so glad I made today's drop. Went with the coyote(not ugly) but will in fact use it for rucking. Man bro, gotta say, your reviews are on point. I am a huge fan of how you can convey such technical knowledge in a way that I can understand. Great vid brother!
Great pack, got mine (in MCB too) a few months back as I was looking for the ‘Goldilocks’ bag for every day carry. Went for the 20L regular frame; love the 210D on the back and insides of the straps, soooo much better in use. The handles are a great addition and I never use the laptop compartment on any of my bags so that’s not an issue either. My EDCCooperative patch in MCB looks killer on it too 😎
Thanks for your very informative video! Great video, I’m retired Federal Law Enforcement and now do some other work and I just bought thie bigger frame also for edc and not for rucking but I have spent my life carrying a backpack. This is really tough and love the back support as no matter how much I load it down it feels great on my back not like other packs! It’s great for edc if you carry a lot of weight for edc. Thanks again for video!
I used the 20L Rucker (2.0) for EDC for a good time, and prefered the ruck plate sleeve as the laptop holder for it's more elevated. The trick is to fold the envelop top (that has the patch velcro) into the sleeve, so the sleeve itself is open by default. Then you can slide in your laptop (13" only) like into a glove. As of packablility it is about on pair with the Evergoods CPL 24 as that is tapered towards the bottom. It's a really great bag, my all time favorite.
Cool, I just got my small frame bag in as well and actually love it! I do plan on rucking and use the 20 lb. plate inside and don’t mind that it will get beat up. I like that it was made to take a beating.
For that top Velcro pocket, just buy some large Velcro panels and trim to fit panels and use the male side on the existing female side. You can strategically trim the male panel(hard side) so only a little bit of original female (soft side) still sticks out so the original flap will still have a little bit of fuzzy side Velcro to grab on to. Hope that makes sense!
I actually do this pretty often with bags, and it's good advice. Only thing I'd say with this one is because of the pouch pocket I just didn't really have to.
I have the 25L version of this bag that I use for rucking. After watching your video I decided to try placing my dell XPS 15 laptop in the sleeve for the 45lb rucking plate and it fits easily. Of course the fabric is 1000d so it is not a soft surface... However there is lots of room and it is not a tight fit at all... Very cool
The 25L pockets are perfect for a laptop and a tablet. And I cannot think of two sleeves more secure to hold there things to be honst. They are the real mom proof ones.
Hi , your video are very informative, especially the one with koadout comparison. Do you recomend this rucksack instead gr1 . ? As far as copacity is concerned cos I don't know how many lit this rucker3.0 is vs gr1 26 lit
The lumbar support is a great addition along with the 210D on the back and the inside of the straps. As for the sternum strap, I’ve never needed them on a Goruck but I don’t ruck or compete with them. The grab handles are a bit too much for me on such a small bag. The diagonal strip is a bit jarring, at least to me, but if it’s reflective I get it. I enjoyed this video, it’s very clear with great photography and sound. Good size for you BTW. Gamsa hamnida
Thanks man! I don't mind the diagonal strip on this colourway but it did bother me the first time I saw it on the other colourways. I think in person it isn't so bad for sure. The sternum strap, I don't tend to need them either but I suppose it doesn't hurt to have it included. Andddddd agreed on the 210D. That is certainly the best part for me. The grab handles I find them to be very useful for grabbing the bag out of my car or when I'm in a weird position because I have the little one in one arm, haha.
@@jtinseoul7041 your little nugget would be cute if you took pictures of her in the Gorucks as she grows. She’s Bullet size, then Rucker and GR1 and so forth.
I just got the same bag but in black 3 days ago. I spent 24 years in the army I’m not going rucking anymore. It will be an edc/bushcraft. It’s loaded with 18 lbs took it on a 1 mile test walk. Feels good. Just wish it had molle on the bottom. I’m still not sure how this bag will work out. I’ll give it time for me to get used to it. Good video
I definitely think I'd not used it long enough to say much more than an early impression. Which in my case was very positive. I can understand how molle on the bottom would be important for bushcraft. If you fall in love with the pack Goruck will add the molle on the bottom at Scars for a reasonable price.
I think the bullet is a very handsome shape for sure. I think on pure looks the bullet is a better looking bag but in terms of comfort I think this Rucker is more comfortable.
For reference what’s your height? I’m 5’9-5’10 and 175 pounds trying to see if I should get the small frame. Also love your videos! I wanted to get your opinion between this bag, mystery ranch urban assault 21 and the evergoods CHZ21 for EDC? I wanna keep the price below $200 but am not sure which I want!
@@jtinseoul7041 Thank you! Could I get your opinion on which bag would be best for EDC? I’m going between the mystery ranch UA21, Evergoods CHZ21 and the Go Ruck 20 3.0. I’m trying to saying below $200 Thank you!
Well, while I think they are all good choices I'm personally most fond of the Goruck in this case and it wouldn't even be close. I might go with the CHZ if I needed a bottle pocket or the UA21 if I needed more adjustability on the carry side. For me though, the Goruck is the one from that list that feels like a pal for life :)
Hello ! What would you say is the difference between the Rucker and the Bullet ? One is 15l, the other is 20... but aside from that ? Thanks for the review
This is a lot, lot beefier of a pack compared to the Bullet. It has a stiff frame sheet vs none, is 1000D Cordura instead of 500D, and it just overall a product built to take more abuse. Thing is an absolutely tank.
Sorry to bother you again bro. Now that I have the GR2 34L for traveling and the Bullet 15L to pack inside the GR2 for edc while I’m away from home, would you think that a GR1 26L, GR1 21 L, or a Rucker be better for a 6’ 2” guy for edc? The bullet is a little too small and the 32L is too big. I have a Rucker 3.0 that I love, but it’s the 25L that has the cushion in the bottom that messes everything up. I use it for rucking. Thanks for your help.
In my XP, made in Vietnam is often of a higher quality than the US made products I’ve gotten. Those that gripe about it from their Chinese/ Korean made pc/ phone are just trying to find things to complain about.
In my experience, you're correct on the quality especially when the brands are those like Goruck and Mystery Ranch. I don't mind the idea of someone wanting jobs to be local to them if possible but the quality argument is one that doesn't hold weight anymore.
Looking for your opinion on which Goruck is the better EDC option for me. I’m 5’9”, I often carry a 13” MacBook and or a 12.9” iPad Pro along with a Bible, notepad, pens, various cables, some various smaller items etc. Having a good secure spot for my Bible is a priority so it doesn’t get tossed around and mess up the pages. Was thinking it might slide into the front slip pocket of a Goruck? I’ve always had bags with lots of organization but wonder if a Goruck with pouches to help organize would be better. Because I’ve always had lots of organization in my backpacks I’m more apt to go with the GR2 26L but that $400 price tag is hard to justify for me. I’ve also been looking at the DSPATCH Daypack because of your reviews, though it doesn’t exactly have tons of organization earthier. If you think the Goruck or DSPTCH would be good for me which bags would you recommend with good organization? Should I be looking at an EVERGOODS or Tom Bihn instead? I would prefer a bag made in the USA. I know the quality of the Vietnam bags are good too, I just like the idea supporting jobs here in the states. I did just purchase a Mystery Ranch Urban Assault 24 that I’m returning because it just doesn’t carry my items well and it catches on the back of my belt with every step I take and that’s super annoying. Thanks in advance for any advice. Your videos have been super helpful in choosing a new pack, and I appreciate all the work you put into making them.
Sorry for the late response! So I think in terms of the criteria you mentioned, especially the organization bit, you could give something like the Synik from Tom Bihn a try. Or the Synapse even with a cache. I think the Synik 22 might be good though. A GR1 21L is a similar price, but it would be lacking in that organization you mention. The CPL from Evergoods is also a good option as the front pocket would be ideal for your bible or even the inside stretch pocket. I think the Gorucks will be slightly abrasive on the cover and stuff if the bag is packed tight. DSPTCH is also a great option, as the Daypack has a tablet sleeve that would work perfectly for the bible (I think) and the back compartment could be for the iPad. A final option could be to reach out to someone like Filip Raboch to make you something custom. I've found that people that have done this tend to be the most happy with the result. I know that wouldn't be supporting a local job, but it is supporting a skilled craftsman. Something cool about being able to talk directly to the person building something you'll carry often. Also, his prices are more than reasonable for what you get :) Hope this helps!
@@jtinseoul7041 thank you for the response. I was actually watching your review on the Synik 22 as the notification came in for your reply. I really dig the idea of getting something custom made! I’m going to definitely pursue that option. Thanks for the idea! I appreciate you.
@@jtinseoul7041 I ended up ordering a GR2 26L when a black 500d one showed up on the site this morning. Everyone including you talks about how great they are so I just went for it. The custom bag idea from Filip Raboch was super cool but he’s not taking orders for a while since he’s so backed up. I’m guessing your video must have driven a few more folks his way… I’m super stoked for the GR2 though. I’m thinking I can fit both my iPad and a thin Bible in the inside water bladder pocket together. When I need to bring my laptop I’ll use the bombproof pocket for it.
Do I have only one bag or do I have several? If I had only one bag I'd choose this. If I had several bags already then maybe the Bullet. I think this is a better "do everything" bag and the Bullet is a better sidekick.
Btw how is the edc scene in s.korea? Is goruck popular there? Here in Singapore its slowly getting there..not much people know abt it..but if u see someone on the streets carrying one..well, it feels like a brotherhood..or a certain secret club..IMO anyways.
@@jtinseoul7041 what?! Koreans are missing out lots..im still on the fence whether to get a heritage..cos here in tropical Singapore..leather = sweat buckets..im gonna cooked by it.
