Seminary doesn't make ready for the office of a Pastor or a Preacher. There is nothing a Seminary can give/prepare one that is called; which the Holy Spirit cannot give/prepare for ministry. There are many astute men and women that hold several theological degrees, but lacks much, bc they only have the letter of the Word and not the Spirit of the Word. Motive and attitude is key here. When you are truly called, you will submit yourself(die to self) to the Holy Spirit in studying God's Word, and He will teach you all things.

The scriptures clearly tells us that we are not all children of the Lord God. I do not think seminary is necessary to be a minster. I do believe they need to be taught. In my opinion many folks who went to seminary are in error also.
100% AGREE! Jesus didn't attend seminary, and neither did the Apostles. John 14:26 says "John 14:26 KJV... "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." The problem is, many of them don't know Christ, and they aren't led by the spirit of God.
God can use anyone but seminary can also help someone learn the correct meaning of the text. Uneducated people in the pulpit teaching the wrong meaning of the Scriptures is hurting people who attend church.

Concerning giving, Paul didn't give instructions on how a church/ministry should give for the support of an actual church/ministry every week. The passages we use, namely in Corinthians, are about how to collect offerings for the support of the poor saints in Jerusalem.

Travis NEVER said he is combining passages, he combined the translations. This commenter reported that he was combining passages. He used the different translations to explain what it said. Jesus says this TWICE. Matthew 16:18-19, Jesus says, "the gates of he'll shall will not prevail against the church." Then Jesus proceeds to give you, me, us keys to the kingdom saying the SAME thing at Matthew 18:18. No need to be pharisees about it..what did Jesus say and what did HE mean?? Amen! That's the problem. So many pastors are NOT CALLED by God, rather they have a piece of paper (degree). Going to seminary or Bible school is not bad but it's not a Scriptural requirement for pastoral leadership either. We've strayed from the narrow path now that being a pastor has become an occupation and not a calling from God. 🤦🏾♀️
Tauren Wells did go to seminary. He’s even spoken how a professor told him he would have choose between music and preaching because he couldn’t do both. The two are separately very demanding. I don’t think he clearly put music down. He’s admitted that people might see his church as “high school musical”.

Finally perhaps you should look more into where and who bishop winans was mentored by rather than be critical of him. I also want to add going to seminary does not mean that one cannot be prone to false teaching. As a few of the people that you often mention have been taught in the seminary.

The church is out of control, period. We have too many people who want to be pastors not because of a calling but to be popular. because you are a gospel sanger or a pk, doesn't mean you are called. Many young pastors dont have training, no schooling, hasnt set under a true pastor, or teacher, leaning to their own understanding, teaching false doctrine, and just wrong. Just because a pastor's church is growing doesn't mean it's God sanctioned or blessed. A lot of people come out because the leader is well known, preaching what they want to hear, no comdemnation or repentance. We have to do better.

I think that its so easy for them to operate in error or teach false doctrines because they are only following what they have been exposed to. If their shepherds normally practice eisegesis, then the flock will follow. Proper hermeneutics is not a common practice in the "black" church.
As Jesus himself said, that a corrupt tree (can not) produce good fruit, neither can a good tree produce bad fruit, and we can tell by their bad doctrine that they are corrupt trees. People think just because they sing, they can be a Pastor. Nothing could be further from the truth. I listened to Marvin Winans preach. The man has No gift for preaching. He was given the opportunity to tell the world about Jesus, at the Whitney Houston funeral, but instead he decided to show off his talent and created a show and hoop. No clear explanation of the gospel, no call to repent. Just a show. These people are not of God. Yes, God is more harsh than people think on the dreadful day of judgement. If we who are scarcely saved are barely in, how much harder is it for an unrepented sinner to enter heaven? Most people ever created will perish. Because people refuse to repent. Going to church is not a ticket to heaven, You must be born again. God living inside of you, causing us to walk in His ways. Human efforts to righteousness fall short every time. Only being born again will get you into heaven.
Some of them didn’t want to be pastors. They took it on to ad legitimacy to their careers. Most were already descendants of ministers. Some of this is just pressure. I’ve never stepped into ministry in that fashion. I’ve stayed in my lane. You can’t do gods will while trying to do your own?

The first time I came across his music I was soooo confused as to whether he was gospel or secular. The lyrics didn’t sound like gospel at all to me. Yet he was being played on Christian music networks. I even watched an interview he did talking about his career and it took him over an hour to mention Jesus. Imagine my shock when he announces that he’s launching a church 😮
He was performing a concert and likes to dance while doing so. There's no sin there. He also gives the Gospel message and ministers throughout his concert. I don't agree with aspects of his doctrine and questionable associations though.
IF JESUS IS NOT IN THEIR PREACHING, THEN THEY'RE KEEPING PEOPLE UNDER THE LAW WHICH DENIES THEM OF SALVATION, AND IN TURN, STRIPS THEM OF ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN.
A few things I'd like to address: 1) Folks with channels like this, can rarely do the job better than the ones theyre criticizing. Otherwise, where is the fruit? Im not convinced God "called" youtubers to complain about pastors more than they pray fore them. 2) Why is there an assumption that these guys havent been to seminary? I dont personally know their grad school experience but neither does this guy in the video. However, my understanding is that Murphy IS, in fact, in seminary. MY seminary, as a matter of fact. 3) ANYBODY can buy a logos software and try to tare down every thing that every pastor says. My question is, how productive is THAT.. and how productive are YOU? That question goes to any person building their platforms on the criticisms of the sound bites of other people. 4) Many gospel artists were licensed and ordained (tried and proven) by their governing bodies and pastors long ago. Its just that their music took off so thats what they're primarily known for. So no, they didn't just start out of nowhere.
Name the men of God in the Bible that went to a seminary school..? Most people that go to seminary end up leaving the faith we are required to study to show ourselves approved but the Holy Spirit teaches all things the spirit of God is what led the prophets of old because they didn’t have a Bible to learn from the problem is these men don’t have the spirit of God they are just uneducated actors the don’t know the word or know God….
It's difficult to even call them Gospel artists because they are already rooted in bad theology and unsound doctrine. So everything they produce is already as far away from the Gospel as one can get. But Gods mercy and patience is enduring. His steadfast love wills that they would come to Him in faith and repentance. It's sad that their influence is so pervasive.

I have always felt the same way and had my thoughts about why the gospel artists appeared to have a calling. My thoughts are if you do not have an income in one way, it has to be come another way. And yes they need formal Biblical training to shepherd and teach.

Respectfully, your view about tithing is incorrect and irresponsible doctrine. God who spoke by His messenger Malachi says, "I change not." And He also says in that same book, "You have robbed me in tithes & offerings." Paul the Apostle would never seek to change what God has said, but doctrinally will compliment what God has said. Of course, God is longsuffering towards us all and sees that not everybody will be able to tithe and present an offering. But a woman with 2 mites gave of her heart to honor what God has put in her heart. Respectfully, don't try to change the purpose of why God says about tithing and offering. Respects. You’re using Malachi out of context.. first of all God said the people were robbing him because they weren’t giving the assigned grain to the tabernacle. Why were they giving tithes? Because it was to support the Levites who didnt get any land of ownership or could create money because they were assigned to the tabernacle so it was set in law the other tribes had to give in order for the Levites “Gods chosen” so they can survive. It was also to store for the poor and for famine . Tithing wasn’t EVER about giving to the church the church didn’t even exist in Malachi lol .

Humbly hopefully making the decision to no longer expend time on looking at people who openly confess Christianity through all kinds of media, music, public, political, secular, etc, kind of platforms expressing everything but the gospel. When there are truly people out here, ministers, pastors, missionaries, prayer warriors and so on, who are doing tremendous work for the kingdom a lot of them not even heard about because they are not going after these platforms. They not concerned about making their name known. They just wanna do the work. They truly fear and reverence God. They truly want the World to know that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed one.and truly want Him glorified even at the expense of their own lives, are defending the gospel, are searching the scriptures, Are humbling themselves. I’m tired of the circus acts. I know it’s wrong for me to label it as such. But I’m beginning to become so vexed and distracted because of it. I thank God for those who God has raised up to call it out. Somewhere in all the behavior I can’t help but notice is a degree of idolatry of self. To me that is one of the main things the enemy is going to try to get us to appeal to when all the while Jesus is saying the opposite. To deny and crucify the idolatry of self. We all need to continuously examine ourselves with the Word of God to make sure we are in the faith. That takes commitment and there is no apex you can arrive to where you think you all good and no longer need to do it. He said daily. This is not a game, we talking about eternity. We are no match for this on our own. If anything let’s continue to pray for the ones being seduced and led astray. Some of them are truly sincere truly love the lord. I was in this type of delusion thirty years ago ago and someone has to have prayed for me. I did not rescue myself out of it on my own. Somebody had to have been praying for me.

We’re going to disagree on several points you make here again, Corey. First, you start this video showing a performer who’s not a pastor. Second, you name a few who are sound in doctrine, though you might not like them; and lump them in with those who we know are messy. Third, you present the presumptive premise that seminary fixes the problem. I point you to your own video about the late Carlton Pearson, a graduate of ORU; as proof that seminary doesn’t always fix it. Finally, you have a problem with someone using the English definition & context of certain words, when you do the same when it suits your agenda. Here’s where we’ll agree. Being gospel artist doesn’t mean you’re called to be a pastor.
I don’t think we should generalize that Gospel artists don’t make good pastors based upon a few clips from their sermons. All Pastors slip up at least sometimes and say things that might now be 100% biblical. After all, pastors (regardless of whether or not they are recording artists) are human too and should be given a little grace, just like the rest of us when we mess up.

Every arist must be trained. Why? Because music ushers you into the presence of God. They should be under the amount of theological scrutiny as Pastors.
Respectfully, stop using 2 Corinthians as a go to when it’s not talking about tithes at all, when Paul said God loves a cheerful giver it was not talking about tithes it was talking about ministering to the saints in Jerusalem 2 Corinthians 8:4 2 Corinthians 9:1 everybody wants to be in the ministry and try to preach the Bible when every one of not called to the priesthood, but they don’t want to minister with their money outside of tithing because it hurts the good of their bank account. Tithing was a spiritual law established with Abraham and Melchizedek, which was the priest of the most high God ( which Jesus is after the order of Melchizedek ) And then tithing was given through the law to take care of the priesthood and those truly in need of help. When Jesus established the new priesthood on the earth the tithes goes to them and also those that truly need help. So being a cheerful giver never talks about tithes but ministering to saints in Jerusalem, so when we want to correct other people’s doctrine with doctrine that’s not biblical we err.
Now, I believe when guest pastor say something like that or similar, most pastors will meet with them afterwards and discuss it with in a one on one session. It is not to embarrass them especially with social media. Most pastors should not actively exposed their congregation to this but it is a slippery slope. With social media, you have to really stand on the Word, stand on your structure, and be willing to stand on your no.
You’re wrong about tithing. Giving and tithing are totally different. Giving is a gift you never were obligated to give. Tithing is what you owe God. Teaching against tithing is against the word of God.
