This is a Switzerland tradition. They are called Basler drummers. They play on Swiss carneval. They start in young age. That's why you call the grip of the sticks (right hand) German grip, cause as a free state Swiss people served as Landsknechte 500 years ago in the military over whole Europe. Their language is German. The popes privat army in Rome is still these days a Swiss Army.
Lmao they aren’t the best in the world. They look cool and do stick tricks, but when it comes to musicality, sound quality, technique, cleanliness, difficulty of music, any top DCI group would destroy them
Drumming pros will tell you that they aren't the best musicians, but they put on the best show which is more important than musicality as most audiences are casuals
@@pownder I still disagree about putting on best show… they are very fun to watch for a general audience, but still nothing compares to The performance level of top DCI groups. Not even top secret
@@TopDrumCorps congratulations on being a drumming pro who knows what he's talking about. Musicality is only important in a drumming competition among their peers. Everywhere else, no one cares. Top Secret is a good band. They put on a good show and entertain their audience (which is made up mostly of regular non drumming folk).

Been watching Top Secret for 13 or so years. I was a graphic designer at NASA from '81 - 2011 and I remember seeing them from my desk, so it's been quite awhile. Every video is different KB and BTW I'm the worship drummer at my church since '87. I just got a Roland TD07-KVX mesh kit to replace my 37 y.o. Roland PD-21 rubber kit w/TD6V brain. I kept the brain and married it to the TD07
I was in the marching band in HS, drums corps at Lackland AFB and Sheppard AFB. I attended or watch hundreds of drum corps competitions and these guys are at a completely different level of performers. Their choreography may not be spectacular but their precision far exceeds anything I have seen. I could be wrong but if you wanted an outstanding drum line, you would be hard pressed to emulate anyone other these guys.
The only ones that I know of are the Massed Bands of the Royal Marines (they also performed together with Top Secret at least once - worth a watch). Honestly worth watching other performances of Top Secret as they have some other routines that weren't here, and they are always a good time.
I saw this a fews years back. They sound incredible with only snares and bass. A 6 minute routine with all those formations. Just insane. Theres other videos out there that have the camera up higher and you can see the formations better.
Hello, if you notice they are All in sync/rhythm everytime and they also did play/practice with the Blue Devils check that one out.....they also played with the Royal Marines
I saw the blue double videos ethnic were great! I saw the practice & then they did just a very short video of them performing together both in uniform. Really good stuff.

Musically? Maybe not. Precision, Performance wise, Discipline, Complexion, Tactical? Hell yeah. They're best. What imagine is they're not even military (lol Switz has military?)
...and they do it for pure leisure in their spare time :) And yes, Switzerland has military - very small but nonetheless it's said they have the best pilots because of the unique swiss topography with the mountains and alps :)
And u haven't even seen their World famous astonishing most complex manouvre yet! Its mind boggling complicated n blew my mind! It van NEVER be replicated by another drum corp as it takes years to master n is onky possible to do using their "Top Secret" training methods of synchronization, which only Top Secret members know about! They cant even explain the methods to outsiders or family members as they are too complicated to explain to others! They can only be mastered in unison with all rhe other members together! Which ensures the secrets are kept in house n passed on without anyone being able to copy or understand their methods! They have moves even beyond wat u see in this video!😮

I know about these guys for a couple years. The snare stickings are insane. I love how the snares are played like tonal drums. I wish the bass drums were developed you would say. I feel that the basses should be as strong as the snares. I love these guys
